Unfortunately, the service does not meet the requirements. In our room light shone until. 3:48 and could not be switched off. Not a word of apology!

Excellent attention, nice view facing the sea, the social areas the art gallery, the great lounge, the pool, the food and reception the best, super cozy and familiar, without a doubt one of my best experiences.

Its architecture is dazzling, the view is unmatched, the works of art great, without a doubt it was an unforgettable 🤩🤩 experience.

I really liked the sea view room excellent 👌 the very friendly attention of all the hotel staff 🏨 the pool the sauna very well located. Beautiful hotel highly recommended to all people who want to spend it super and relaxed 😍 🤗

Wall paper commingling the walls in hall way. Outside the back of hotel was so dirty. Rooms are boring anderhalve no personality. When I stayed here 3 years agonist was much much nicer. I don’t thinking be comming back. Hotel van oranje is was nicer.

The Kurhaus hotel is five star on the outside, but only 3 on the inside. Rooms are dirty (carpet stains) and outdated, service is sub par, and I think they are using the corona virus as an excuse to cut services and offerings. Couldn’t even get a proper coffee at breakfast. You’re better off staying somewhere else and walking a bit more to get to the beach. I’m writing this review while at the hotel now. It was too late for me!

Furthermore, I was robbed by the cleaning lady 200 Euros while I was at breakfast.
I have filed a complaint after 2 days waiting for the manager, until today neither staff nor Management has commented on this incident. For me, this is all about principle. How do you treat people who are your guests? Please be sure to read all the latest reviews before booking this. If I had done that before.
No 5 stars earned, since any other cheap accommodation is friendlier and more helpful.
Completely overpriced parking fees in the hotel and simply incomprehensible rip-offs.
25 euros per day for dog extra and daily cure package. I am talking about rooms 310 and 311 broken windows, ripped bed dirty stained carpet, bathroom from 1969 and the criminal complaint of 5.6.2020, which they got hotel manager from the Dutch police for theft!
Who is the manager here? Are there names?

The Hotel has its best days behind it. Renovation of residue wherever you look. Poor Service, very small room (noisy) and a mediocre Breakfast. No idea where the 5 stars come from. Without the Spa, I would give only 3 stars, and thus of grade 4. Really what a pity, this tradition has become the house.

The breakfast is not good at all. The eggs and the pancake are cold. No seeds, no plums or dates, no peper. The restaurant looks like a hostel restaurant. The coffe is in machines, the flloor and the furniture just awful. Service level very low.

Staff totally overwhelmed. Not to speak Manager for guests. Service an absolute disaster. The room (Suite), not clean. Conclusion, Beautiful building in a great location under a bad line (Manager)

Strange aggressive and unfriendly staff member at the party happening at the hotel entrance of the hotel Restaurant, aggressively, talking to us that we could not enter without explaining not nice. Made me feel very unsafe. First time that I experience this kind of attitude in such a nice hotel, please take care of your staff or security people that works with you, not nice.

Bath rooms are covered with mold. Breakfast buffet is a Desaster. Reception staff is incompetent and even phone is not answered.

Dirty hotel. At the terrace they leave broken glass, dirt, cigarettes and bird poo on the floor. Asked several times to clean it, asked several times for parasol. Incapable staff. We were ignored!
Organised a lunch for 15 people. Service was so slow, china from starter menu still on table during lunch. Had to beg for main dishes to please please be removed after half an hour. Dessert never came yet were charges for it!
Room had stain everywhere. Balcony also full with bird poo and dirty cigarettes.
Asked 3x for manager. Kept us waiting, never came!

Not up to expectations. Delayed check in plus cleanliness is not as expected. Carpet inside the room has wet stains. Location is great. Not all staff are helpful and nice!

Absolutely not worthy of 5 star rating. Airconditioning only stays on for 4 hours and then switches off. This is a known problem that management decides to do nothing about, and tells staff to lie about. Staff will stall, and tell you a mechanic will look at it, but nothing happens. They will also make excuses like "we called your room, noone answered. " As if they don't have a key to all the rooms, or my phone number. Also, the rooms are tiny, the elevators slow, and everything is warn down and stained. It feels like this place is just trying to wring as much money out of their reputation of old, without spending any money on anything.

The situation is perfect, the food is really good. The room not perfectly clean and the mattress really need to be replace I still not understand « Superior room ». The cost for a night is not justify you can decrease at least 100€ the night.

I had lunch here at the waves restaurant on the 21st. Firstly the service is extremely slow with the entertainmwnt of seagulls eating off of the not cleared table next to us. We ordered 4 meals, 3 club sandwiches all of which were made with stale bread. The burger which was served dropping in egg yolk (of which there was no mention of on the menu) was returned. The 'freshly squeezed' orange juice was also returned as last time I check concentrate is not fresh. The service from the manager was terrible, she refused to give her name and said that there was no other manager in the hotel. No sorry was given at all for the poor service or poor quality of food and drink. All in all a terrible experience and I will for sure not be returning.

Only used the spa facilities. The swimming pool is not so big. The sauna is pretty large which can fit 8 people lying down. In addition there is an infra red room and Turkish steam room. There is a large cold shower area with 6 different shower methods. From a bucket with water above your head to a cold mist (shower gel available). There are electric lockers. Available. Also there is a place outside where you can chill in the tan sun with a nice view to the beach. Finally there are also some fitness facilities. You can spend a couple of hours here. Most of the facilities look pretty new.

Definitely not up to the standard I would have hoped, especially given the price. Bar service left our drinks out for so long that after 10 minutes of watching them chat I went up and served myself. As well as reporting a stained carpet and told in the bathroom, which we reported and were told "if it is stained that probably means they couldn't get it out before" and the shower still ran green when used later. Would not recommend for the price. The only reason for the second star is the location, the swimming and fitness and the nice waitress we had for dinner.

Very nice hotel well located pity that the parking lot is expensive 30euro per day not having been able to have parking at the hotel to 25euro anyway. Anyway in the Netherlands it is the price of a parking per day eat well and excellent breakfast.

+ the view of the sea …, the architecturally great building + friendly staff — the cleanliness, dirty unkempt carpets, the bathroom very unclean (hair and shoe prints that were not from us! ), no toilet brush … the balcony very dirty — at longer Rainseason rains rain in the big hall and also in our room it dripped from the ceiling — horrendous parking fees of €39 per day — no cosy bar in the hotel — breakfast at youth hostel level Where the 5 stars come is an absolute mystery to me … Prices have 5 stars.

Wonderful Hotel overlooking the beach with sauna, swimming pool, hammam and massage near attractions for small and large, close to shoping and restaurants.

We took place last night in our room which is large, properly equipped, certainly but is of a very austere decor (brown dated from the years 70, do not expect necessarily to find what you see on the photos of the site) whose bathroom Leaves to be desired on its standing (not at all a 5 stars) and on its intimacy (sliding door that does not close quite and whose handle is a hole…
But we could have tolerated this despite the price paid if at the time it was we were getting to sleep. Since the beginning of the evening a very unpleasant and powerful music was heard from the bottom of the hotel but we took the scale when we tried to sleep around 10.30 pm. At midnight, no longer there we went down to ask for earplugs at the reception, thinking that in a 5 star it was the kind of small attention that we could expect especially that we were certainly not the first to complain since the Music came from a nightclub. I was waited five minutes to tell me that they had nothing and that the music would stop soon. At 2:00 in the morning always the same and when I come down to annoy me at the reception, a type clearly not trained to handle difficult situations mounts check (it did not bother him to speak aloud before our son who slept) and we renewed our Ask to find earplugs. Of course we were not of the royal family so they did not bcp to find. He came back 10 minutes later to tell me that the nightclub had the right to make noise until 3am but "is it OK now with the music?

The hotel sits on a great location, right at the beach. Our time at the hotel was great. But I wouldn't say it is a 5 star hotel but rather a 4 star hotel.

Very cosy hotel. Small rooms but with all amenities. Old architecture, nicely maintained. Complimentary mini-bar including the wine bottles. Very friendly and courteous staff. Beach is just behind the hotel, with a very nice promenade, The Pier, Giant wheel, and a lot of options for dining. Must stay hotel if you are in The Hague, Netherlands…

Unfortunately, when choosing the hotel, we have been dazzled by the beautiful architecture. Where the hotel wants to have 5 stars, I can only guess.
Negative: poorly cleaned rooms, TV program exclusively equipped with Dutch channels, no toilet brush, gloomy rooms with "burned" as lighting. The breakfast buffet is included in the price but does not seem to have any service, as no one cleans dirty tables or obviously replaces expired/missing dishes. In addition, the dishes offered are also bad. The spa/fitness area of the so-called Kurhaus is tiny. In addition, no one cares that it is a spa, so the relaxation area with pool is used rather as a children's playground. Not to think of rest. All in all, the hotel rests on the imposing exterior and saves you a good service.
The complimentary wireless Internet access, the free mini bar and the Nespresso coffee maker in the room were positive.

We have been guests for 3 days now in this beautiful but totally disappointing hotel.
Where do I start: Rooms: The rooms are old, well-kept and clean.
Breakfast: It is already cleared 25 minutes before the end and not a single table would be cleaned. You sit over 40Minuten in front of his filthy crockery and that at every table and at any time.
The food is also a horror. The egg powder, expired old salmon or cheese with thick hard edges.
Spa and Wellness: Here our disappointment went on. The sauna area is tiny and does not have its own relaxation zone. This is the pool and unfortunately there are no staff here, there are constantly 4-10 children playing in the also tiny pool. In the spa there is an extreme noise and the beautiful sea view unfortunately does not help any further. The gym is similarly pathetic and has a tower and three treadmills.
Room Technology: All smart features are disabled on TV and there is no German program. There are also far too few sockets.

Location is top but something has come up in the years. Breakfast also recommended. The rooms a little small for the prices called.

Superb place, if you like to stay near by beach. Lot of restaurants around along with some decent no of shops. Movie theater, circus and many attractions around. Only thing you need to be aware is about the climate, if you stay there in winter, should be ready to face string winds. And, being an Indian, I have found couple of good Indian restaurants, kitchen rani and one more within kurhaus hotel. Buffet has really large spread of food available.

Hello we are really disappointed with this stay in this hotel, indeed as soon as we arrived the reception was not up to par, and the first thing we saw looking out the window (room 340) Two cages on the balcony made it a trap for pigeons, and the horror scene the pigeons enter the cage and no longer come out and get ripped by the seagulls through the bars before our eyes! The one who stayed well in the middle of the cage died of fear or hunger or cold! Then the room n is not worthy of a 5 stars and especially not the size, the wind goes through the windows that are not waterproof what makes the room cold in this season (can be in summer it serves as an air conditioner! ) The restaurant does not have a class of 5 stars, breakfast great choice but rather industrial! The concierge service indicated on the folder does not exist, we are offered a DVD with his films by calling the 625 but no one picks up, we go down to ask the reception and this one laughs at the figure! No French TV channels so no info! Unsympathetic staff (apart from the valet who greeted us in the morning from elsewhere he advised us well for our visit to Amsterdam pity that he is not there all the time) for the moment it will be everything because I do not want to lower you even more! Besides having to talk with other clients, I think the complaints you still get. For us we will stop there but make sure that we do not put our feet again.

Awesome hotel. Great view from our room. We were located in the middle of the hotel with a great ocean view. The inside of the hotel looks amazing. We had to wait a while while checking in. Not the grandest of lobby's. There was only 1 person checking people in after about 5-10 minutes another person came to help out. Wasn't very celar. Rooms were large and well equipped (expresso machine, water boiler for free) Bathtub and small balcony. Located right in the middle of Scheveningen.

Nice hotel in a very historic atmosphere. However the hotel and especially the expensive rooms are outdated and not worth the price. If you want to be a 5 star luxury hotel you need to pay attention to the details. I've emailed the hotel and guess what, no reaction at all!

Went for a tour of the building with a high tea at the end. Good entry, nice staff, complimentary coffee / tea. Nice tour guide although his English was not on point, glad I spoke Dutch. For English speakers you might want to say that before hand. High tea was perfect, good amount of tea/food. Everything was really nice and tastefull. Would do again.

Cool classic hotel on the water in The Hague. Tons of history, lots of stuff to do nearby. Probably best during the summer months. Staff is top notch.

The front of the hotel, its hall — impressive. Pompously, with a claim to chic and luxury. The room was absolutely disappointing… the hair dryer is such that my hair has become like a washcloth. I have forgotten about the existence of such devices, but opa… this hotel is a recalled. And as you can imagine, everything in the room is made in the spirit of this hairdryer. But, and so everything is super!

My predecessor was then charged 2x from the credit card.

Sad experience on an otherwise super beautiful day in Scheveningen.

The hotel itself is nice. The location right on the beach is great. The service and staff are nice and accommodating. But the rooms are small, have not been renovated and relatively drafty. The heating was not working in our room. The big hall in the hotel is of course the cracker. The spa area is manageable and the pool is small. For the size of the hotel rather inappropriate. In my opinion, the definitely are not five stars, with much good will still just four…

From the outside a great and imposing hotel. The staff are all very friendly and eager. Room facilities partly old and run down. Door was faulty so we had to change rooms. Cleanliness, especially in the bathroom and on the room floor was left to be desired. The view on the terrace, however, is great! Especially in the evening it is very cozy.

Really bad service on cancellation policy! I booked a room for one night and due to a cancelled flights my friends could not make it. Despite the fact that I booked directly at the Kurhaus, I offered to pay half and two staff members (one of which name is Mariska) of the Kurhaus only responded by referring to their cancellation policy which states that I was to be charged a 100%. No cooperative at all, both stated exactly the same — like a robot. My advice : NEVER book in advance, they have enough rooms anyway. They STEAL your money.

I loved it, the back side has beach. It is an old hotel so it has a rather neat and beautiful classic aesthetic, the staff quite gentle. It has parking. Just out there is a placita where you can find plenty of restaurants and places to have a drink. This is 1h approx. Of Amsterdam.

Very disappointed the hotel's age does not clean the pull like children's playground no matter how later you can't swim children abnormally. Breakfast to expensive 25 euro PP and minimal staff need to make everything alone cutlery pick table clean of crumbs and I ask of what want so much money for breakfast. Buffet OK sorry Dutchman but so not what do you ask? Parking 35 euro.

Fantastic facilities, excellent location, very close to the beach. Spacious rooms with all facilities including ironing table. Hotel has Indian restaurant as well called Vada, opens only for dinner. BREAKFAST at Waves restaurant was great, with beach view. Hotel is old, but never felt it.

Beautiful hotel, I had a suite with a see view. The sun set was amazing. Really large room, for sure it is not nice to have a street view (parking). Really busy and organise beach. In holland everything is practical and really clean.

Excellent hotel in a prime location with very friendly staff, but that is not enough for 4 or 5 stars. Clean is only the bed linen, rooms and balconies very small. The price/performance ratio is just not right, the valet parking was still OK.

This is a mythical hotel of the last Haag. Very sumptuous building. It overlooks the beach.

Great location and friendly service. The mold stains in the bathroom was a big minus. But since the hotel is very old, it is probably not possible to avoid it.

We stayed to watch fireworks from the Hotel's terrace. The bar staff was nice, but there was no table service, which we would have appreciated. The good rating is mainly because of the nice location and beauty of the building.

Everything is very clean. The staff is helpful. The amenities are numerous. I'd easily stay here again it I come back to the Hague.

We had a very nice stay in this hotel. Nice big rooms and very clean. You can swim and use the wellness. Even dogs are very welcome in this hotel. The hotel is next to the beach and boulevard.

Air conditioning broken, room too hot to Sleep. On 2. The day after the 3. The complaint sought a very nice staff for a long time and in the end I get a different room. Nevertheless, I would not book the Hotel again because the price/ performance ratio appears to have a balanced.

A bit faded glory this hotel. The outside looks incredible, the inside can't live up to the 5 stars it apparently has. Beds are nice. Toilet wasn't clean. Rooms are large. Drinks in the minibar were included. Breakfast didn't live up to 5 star standards either — bread was dried out. Shame as I love the outside and the ballroom on the first floor.

Spent my wedding dinner in the Kurhaus, and a night in the Kurhaus Executive Room. I've always loved the service in their restaurant, although a bit short in what to choose, they always have delicious food and great service. They even were able to accommodate our wedding cake, which some restaurants don't accept. The room was great, clean, comfortable with a great view. And while overall the service was good, there were some minor setbacks. One issue was that the staff didn't know about our bottle of champagne, which was resolved without any issue after showing it in our reservation email. Another issue given that was our wedding night, I called in advance to mention this special occasion. The staff were very nice, telling me that there would be something special, but upon arriving in my room, I wasn't really sure what that was. The most I could think of was a shell with 4 chocolates, but that could've been a part of the executive room? I've been to hotels that give you chocolates in the morning or as a welcome gift so me and my bride were quite disappointed in the "surprise". The biggest issue however, was that the Kurhaus forgot to deliver our wedding flowers until the next day. We had 5 flowers sent to our relative's room and only 4 got delivered in the next day. The fifth flower we had to come 2 days later to pick up ourselves.

Great historic hotel, very nice inside.

Old frayed and dirty rooms. Dust flies up in the air. All furniture is repelled. Burned out light bulbs above your bed. Carpet on the floor covered in spots. The first room had to change, because he was declared as a non-smoker, but simply whiffed cigarette smoke.

Indeed new owners. I have ordered an Executive room and got a Superior room. Not bad — but not if the price of the executive rooms is billed! Also one of the 2 tv's are defect and also the light in one room. One of 4 lifts was out of order at this weekend and the breakfast was also not state of the art for a hotel like this! No parking area to reserve (I asked for, first yes then no — but also on the bill next day), only one card for our room for 2 persons. You can ask for a second one but — you have to ask for a lot of things, which should be usually done by the stuff. As example you can use the Nespresso coffie machine at the room but only a little bit milk and sugar for just one cup are available. All in all really sad! I have seen better hotels with much better prices! Not recommendable this year!

New owner's food was not fresh and higher price then before. Really sad lost of quality. And I live 2 blocks away will not return. Very sad lost.
