Reviews of Desert Luxury camp 5*
It was what we expected eg not luxurious but all the basics there. There are two tent camps one of which is the luxury version where tents have their own bathrooms and showers and they have real duvets (and possibly heating? ). We stayed in the basic camp side which was perfectly fine for us. It has shared toilets and showers (hot water did run out after the first person showered…). Kept quite clean by the staff. It got very cold at night (freezing actually) so we asked for more blankets and sleeping under five felt good for us. Other guests did not enjoy the experience. Breakfast and dinner were both great though they charged extra for dinner (10 euros per person). Activities are quite pricy (between 30 and 40 euros for various things like an hour quad ride, a or jeep tour, or camel ride etc) so it adds up. Prices for overnight stays vary immensely depending on the dates so see if you can enjoy the experience at a less popular time (for example prices tripled over new years if not more). Staff was friendly but not overly well trained.

I had a really nice stay in the camp (2 nights on the non-luxury side). Here are some honest pros and cons.
Pros ✅
— Great location — The camp is not where the Google Maps point is (this is only the meeting point), you will be right in the middle of the desert, with the nice dunes right as you leave the camp. The location of the camp is rouhgly 5km east of “Riad Desert Camel”
— Parking is available at the riad (safe behind a gate)
— Staff on the camp is welcoming and easy to talk to (Kudos to Saheed in the camp for looking after us, and Omar for the great day jeep tour! )
— They welcome you with tea.
— The bed are very comfortable and the tents were clean.
— The dinner was excellent and it was nice to have a vegetarian option (the vegetarian tagine was amazing! )
— The breakfast buffet was nice and varied.
— They have 2 camps side by side, luxury and non luxury. The main difference is that in the luxury camp you get individual showers in your tent and the tents are not touching each others. I stayed in the non-luxury and had a great stay.
— Clean shared toilets and showers (in the non luxury camp)
— Nice experience with the berber music in the evening, and a chance to try the instruments.
— A variety of activities that you can do (quad biking, jeep tour, etc.
