Excellent location, but the bedding leaves something to be desired, not at all comfortable. For a relaxing stay, we end up with a torticollis, in addition to insects in the room (spider on the bed and others on the ceiling)

Very disappointed with the hotel. We are far from the standards of a Sofitel: room that smells musty, no French channels on TV, no buffet for the breakfast, breakfast buffet more than average. In summary: very disappointed!

Incredible natural environment, a bath of nature, the walk through the golf course to discover the dunes and the ocean is unforgettable! The staff is charming and the town of Essaouira, an enchanting.

One of the best highlights of the hotel is the food they serve. It is Michelin Star restaurant quality. Their chefs have excellent palates. You will not be able to resist. It is easy to have “me time” and relax here.

I am very happy to have chosen this hotel. Everything is perfect The atmosphere of calm and excellent service. Dining in restaurants for all tastes. The gourmet restaurant is top. You can taste delicious local wines and the european. And about the lounge spa, I can only speak of excellent form. Great treatments, professional massage therapist. There is a sauna, hammam, heated swimming pool. Large territory and the ocean is not far away. Only a 20-minute walk from the ocean. 2 outdoor pools including one with natural water. I recommend both a romantic journey and for families with children. There is a territory for children. There is a free shuttle to the city centre every hour. I would recommend it.

Very nice place, quiet, close to the ocean. Pretty spacious rooms, and incredibly helpful and smiling staff. Spa to discover absolutely with a Jacuzzi space worthy of miles and a night.

Very quiet place and wonderful people.

The beautiful manicured hotel grounds looked impressive with the first impression when we arrived. However after walking through the weird tired looking corridor and getting to the room you begin to see the details that needs to be fixed/refurbished. The furniture and fittings are looking tired and used. Water was splashing out of the doorless shower. The balcony was dusty and the daybed looked stained. Didn’t fancy the breakfast at all. Variety were rather limited and service was hectic. I liked the beautiful art pieces around the lobby area and thought they added a nice pop of color and creativity. I’ve enjoyed strolling around the beautiful hotel grounds especially during sunset. There needs to be major refurbishment done for the rooms and corridors. I wouldn’t call this a 5 star Sofitel experience as compared to other ones I’ve been to.

Very good hotel with a staff with care. However, there are some areas that could be improved in the maintenance of the hotel. Very good breakfast with lots of local produce from Morocco.

Not a 5 star hotel in my book. Rooms are ok, have very little Charme but are functional at best. Little broken and chipped when you look closely. There is a huge hallway which leads to our room in he main building and it feels very impersonal to go there from the lobby. Art work in the lobby is weird and not Morrocan at all, it feels transported from some suburb of lyon. The worst is the breakfast, it tasted old and not fresh at all. The orange juice was fermented and so were the fruits. Staff is virtually non existent in that dining hall. Overall probably the worst hotel in our Morocco trip, I would rather live in a riad in town.

C'est dommage! You're hosted in a 5-star hotel but service does not reach the standard, especially for waiters. Front desk is not value for money.

Very disappointed with the level of this hotel. Service not at the top: room made only at 16:00, little attention. Access to the spa and steam room is free. Unbelievable for a Sofitel. Finishes very poorly done. The windows are almost all broken. Impossible q open. The landing doors are also broken.
The wind makes access to the pools difficult. Be careful the sea is half an hour's walk away.

Very nice hotel, the staff is very warm and attentive. The setting is beautiful, the deco is modern and design. The breakfast is really excellent, variety of products is at an appointment and the staff is the small treatment. The buffet in the evening is very varied and delicious. The outdoor spaces with the gardens, the pools and the landscape make this place a little corner of paradise.

Such a beautiful place! I stayed there during my visit to Essaouira and it was awesome. It's a bit pricey for Morocco but considering what was included with the package, I'll take it! Will make sure to check in again. ~John.

Nice location of the hotel. Extremely quiet. Hotel located on a hill from where you can enjoy a beautiful panorama to the sea. Large and well-appointed rooms with furnished terrace with sofa and soft lighting. Staff very professional, polite and ready to ensure a good stay. Great kitchen. Area around the pool well equipped to make you enjoy the maximum relaxation.

Nous sommes à l’hôtel Sofitel de Essaouira pour la 3e journée! Nous avions reservé pour 1 nuit! C’est un hôtel magnifique et les gens sont accueillants et forts sympathiques. L’endroit est hyper confortable, très joli et quelle vue sur l’océan! Le sentier qui mène à la mer est agréable et invite à la zenitude! Le resto à la carte est excellent et le service très professionnel et le restaurant buffet offre des petits déjeuners raffinés et succulents! On se fait traiter aux petits soins; entre autres, au spa de l’hôtel par la douce et très compétente Hanane que je vous recommande. Nous ajoutons encore une nuit. ☀️

This is the best 5 star I have ever stayed in! Yes the corridors could do with an update but the customer service from the staff is beyond 5 star. They are all so hospitable, nothing is too much of a problem & they aim to accommodate your every need. Moroccan hospitality at it's best. Sophia the manager was a darling & so were ALL the staff. The decor is lovely & the pools beautiful. Rachid, the pool bar waiter was so lovely, warm & professional at the same time. The spa is beautiful & the gym has modern equipment. The only thing I would say is the treatments are just ok. I booked an hour facial & was given only 45 minutes which is a bit misleading so we booked a spa in the Medina & that was excellent so we returned there. But honestly, this hotel is amazing, the restaurants serve great quality food, the wine choice is excellent & we enjoyed our whole time there. We will definitely return! Oh & the rooms are large, beautiful & cleaned well.

A high standard hotel with a large golf course a heated pool of apartments and villas for rent a nightclub night club kind a space for children several restaurants and restorations the shuttle to the city etc…

Gave me room I had not booked I paid a lot of money for a suite with panoramic views of the ocean and golf course. The ocean is clearly visible but the golf course is to far away to see clearly so do not book this hotel if you want a good clear view of the golf course. Overall the hotel was in poor condition and maybe a 3 star but definitely not 5 star.

We consider this establishment as another home.
We are received as friends. All the staff are attentive to the slightest of our wishes.

Very nice structure, well placed in a beautiful forest of Araucaria, two beautiful pools including a natural, large rooms.
The decorator took the top and the ergonomics of the rooms was sloppy.

Breakfast not at the level for a 5 *, little fruit, expect to claim several times Windows tea or coffee, cleaning the approximate tables by a blow of cloth and quick straightening without towel.
Bathroom open on the room with WC closed by a glass door with obligation to light the room to use bathroom or WC. I leave it to you to judge, but this is only valid in single occupancy.
Confusing choice of mixers that requires a learning time. If managers of Accor read this opinion, a council: it is good to want to amaze, not to the detriment of use.
Concierge Service/Reservation moderately efficient but nonetheless friendly.
I still had a good stay, hotel experience which could have been easily improved. I think management no longer looks at the hotel as a customer. I could write a whole page of improvements that can be made.

Great hotel, spacious rooms and very comfortable bedding. The staff super pleasant always at your service and a friendliness, always smiling. Meals and breakfast are plentiful and varied. The golf is beautiful. Very nice club cover, shopping carts are very good advice. The city of Essaouira is pretty it is a beautiful destination.

After reading some of the reviews for this hotel we were a bit concerned about what we were going to but we were so not disappointed. The hotel was beautiful with lots of quirky artwork which made us chuckle daily. The rooms were fantastic with a beautiful view across the golf course. The staff were the so polite and helpful. Nothing was too much bother for them. Rachid around the pool was fantastic. The food was excellent. The only thing to be conscious off is that drinks were a bit expensive but no more than a 5* hotel back home. The hotel is only a 10 min drive from the Medina but there is a shuttle bus running till 1800. Taxis, however, are cheap about £5 each way. The golf course is a great design and in good condition. We played almost every day and it wasn’t too busy. Quite challenging even for the better golfer ️but really enjoyable. We will definitely be returning.

Just arrived with my family and we staying in a Mogador Villa with a private heated pool. I'm writing this now because the service we have received from the first moment has been excellent. We were checked in straight away by the fabulous Fatima Zara and helped by the ever helpful Gabriel. Both explained in detail the hotel and services available. The room was beyond expectations. Great size, 3 toilets and two big bedrooms. Lunch was at the pool side and were attended to by Rashid. Great guy and really helpful. 10 out of 10 for everyone at the Sofitel Essaouira. Aq.

Nice place To chill do not convent To children.

Staff don't have any local knowledge which is annoying. Didn't help during Ramadan where we paid for a taxi to Carrefour only to come straight back again. May have been a particular member of staff who enjoyed chatting rather than doing any work. Nevertheless managed to get taxi fare back from the duty manager which left me and rather than downright seething. Kids club was also closed during this period so not really anything to do for the kids as the area really is remote from the town. I really don't recommend this place for young kids and won't be coming back. However the actual place itself, cleanliness and friendliness from other members of staff push it up to a four star rating. Restaurant prices as expected are quite expensive, be prepared to travel to the medina for reasonable meal costs.

A beautiful hotel with an outstanding staff and a very nice decor. The restairant was excellent and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed our stay and the location of the hotel is perfect for a relaxing stay. A beautiful place in Essaouira.

Really disappointed in this hotel. The view is nice but the service is terrible and the facility is not well maintained. We first had a room with a bad shower, the water was either very hot or freezing. We asked for a room change, the person on the phone asked us to go fix the problem by ourselves at the front desk, there was little initiative taken to fix our problem. We expressed our concern on the phone and then waited 20 min in our rooms for someone to come to help us with room change. Then we moved to the new room and the shower was plugged, the key they gave us to the new room also didn't work. By this time it's already an hour and half after we initially checked in and we are still stuck with a room that has problems and no key to our room.

A very nice hotel, a nice staff and an absolutely wonderful setting. One regrets however some small points damage for a 5 * luxury:
— the ground effect waxed very widely present throughout the hotel is not the most beautiful effect. Especially since there are many places where it is worn and/or marked RT deserves to be renovated
— The tea promised the reception on the day of the welcome was not served. We had to ask
— The empty mini bar on arrival.
— The non-replacement of water bottles in the room at the time of the household
Sum all a slight lack is rigorous in the outfit of the hotel but that does not spoil fortunately neither the beauty of the place nor the kindness of the staff!

Nice people. Very nice hotel in the center of Marrakech.

This is a great hotel. It's away from the Medina so you can relax and enjoy the views and the pool, but you are close enough to take the free-hotel shuttle that will take you to the city centre in just 5 minutes. Food is excellent, more expensive than the Medina but that's expected as you don't have anywhere else — walking distance — to go near the hotel. If you want to you can ask for a cab and they'll take you somewhere else. Service and facilities are great. If we come back we'll definitely stay here again!

Nice place but no Service! Non-existent staff…! Every day, you must call and remind all the time the Guest to repeat requests!
Room half to do… and the galleys begin! To get towels forgotten by the maid, we of the renew 3 times our calls to finally get 2 towels at the end of an hour and a half.
The little restaurant offered aren't bad but you need to be VERY VERY patient because staff has no concept of service…
It's a you to seek for that finally someone is willing to devote to serve you… and the still much patience for lunch or dinner… We feel constantly to disturb…
Tonight, get 20 h 30 at the gourmet restaurant, we have the requested 3 times the wine list… We ask to be served on our glasses of wine arrived 20 minutes later for finally dinner 1 hour later after our order taken. Released 22: 00 for a simple dish (rare beef tenderloin! ) so that the restaurant was almost empty! There was yet 3 servers and 2 hostesses at the restaurant. Completely outdated server =, it was in every sense!
If you doped summers of great patience, go there. Otherwise, go your way, and don't go in this hotel.
We must fast for the Hotel Management to take things in hand and take in hand the management of the staff which is a big calamity!
