The place is enchanting, a small tropical paradise and a historic building.

Incredible location, an oasis, tropical, elegant, 5 star the whole way. Plus a wonderful vegan and Mayan menu. And everyone was so sweet. I completely recommend this romantic historical hotel.

It is a beautiful place, beautiful hacienda, stunning nature, rooms with nice décor and the attention of the staff is unbeatable. Really an oasis of tranquility and rest. It was better than expected.

Very nice experience in this historically hotel. Gabrielle was taking care of us. Just loved to be there. We has a great time. Dinner was perfect.

Super Restaurant in a colonial ambience.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and has a very nice pool. Ideal for disconnecting. On the other hand, it lacks some services, such as not having tv, Wi-Fi or iron in the room. Menu prices are higher than normal.

The complex is located directly at the temple complex, which makes it possible to visit the complex undisturbed in the morning.
The plant itself tends to be very nicely laid out, but has come of age. The rooms are very cool, but you can tell the hotel its age.
Despite the age, the hotel is recommended — unless you are planning a much longer stay (3+ days — this could be boring in the long run).

Great place to both stay and dine. Service always seems to be a bit slow, but the wait is always worth it. Reservations usually necessary.

Great location. If you stay here you can go to the ruins from the back door at 8 am and avoid the crowds. We never stay at luxury hotels but did this time for the convenience and it was worth it. As a hacienda there is very little left of the history, it’s pretty much a pricey luxury hotel. Gorgeous pool. Spacious rooms. Decent Wi-Fi. Great place to relax after your visit to the ruins. The room price does not include breakfast and the restaurant is expensive. But the food at the restaurant is very good. Avoid the bar, drinks are tiny (small margarita served in a vodka glass) and overpriced.

Delightful stay in the middle of the Yucatan jungle with a private entrance to Chichen Itza. The staff and management were super nice, always smiling and giving great recommendations especially for dinner! The cuisine was amazing and all dishes were refined. A bit more expensive than usual but definitely worth it.

Stunning hotel. From its location to the gardens and food you will not find better.

I was there a few weeks ago. I was staying at Villas Archeologica and walked down for breakfast. Coffee, it seems, is a major deal at the hotels. Villas was so bad I left for coffee elsewhere. At Hacienda Chichen I was told it would be ten minutes for a cup. When I asked the waiter why so long, we were interrupted by a woman… in charge. By the way she was agressive, body language, looks… She was unpleasant. She had been at the desk in the entrance way, but when I went into restaurant she followed and stared at me from a table at the other end. I was there at 10a. M. And only one other couple there. 4 waiters, a bully woman, and… nice gardens. I ordered pancakes and ham. The ham was sandwhich slices. I sent it back. The hotcakes were cold. All in all, not worth the price. 12$ US. Or more. Price of a lobster dinner. When I left, I sat out on the porch snd once again, the bully woman followed… I said como estas, how are you? Once again, aggressive. "I live her here"… It would have been nice to have a pleasant exchange. Instead of female aggressiveness. Ya know? I won't go back.

Really good place. We visited for lunch and got really delicious food for a fair price. Good service and a really beautiful view — what more can you really ask for?

Stopped here for lunch after visiting Chichen Itza. Lunch was very good but on the pricier side. Ordered A la carte… Didn't look like there was a buffet. We had chaya soup, truffle and mushroom crepes, tacos and pasta. Food was really delicious. The grounds are beautiful and we walked around the garden in front to listen to the birds singing.

Great room, good food and very helpful staff. Very close to Cichen Itza — so good location for beating the crowds in the morning but also to go back for evening light and sound show which gives a completely different perspective.

Visually great hotel complex! … but prices like in Switzerland. The rooms are without breakfast and a coffee costs b. S. W. 93 pesos. : (Internet is switched off again and again (especially in the evening), which you are forced to go to the restaurant, where the Internet is strangely always informed. —. In the hope that one also consumes what.

It is very spacious, quiet and clean, the restaurant I think can improve. I had to visit this place because we were sold a package for cenote Ik kill and buffet food. We went to the cenote and then to the food, and had a chance to swim in the hotel pool while the rest of the group ate that part I found very cool.

A great resort, with a lot of greenery, almost an oasis. We liked the pool and the garden very much. The food was delicious and prepared quickly. We enjoyed our short stay.

If you're looking for a great peaceful place to relax and enjoy great food this is the place to be.

Overrated and overpriced. Great location, but rooms are jaded and need renovating. Cramped old fashioned bathrooms; curtains that need black-out and replacing; arrogant and unhelpful staff. Many better options available.

This place is almost everything your best thoughts about it reading these reviews might suggest. I would have to nitpick to find any fault during our 3.5 day stay. The bad reviews you read and I have read were just not my experience at all. Beautiful, tranquil pool area in the middle of an opening in the palm forest. Brand new pool of top quality. Paths leading from all haciendas to the main house, small shop and main house where people check in and out and eat. The res…taurant is beautiful and open air about 8 feet up from the floor of the forested area. Like an old plantation-stately and sedate. For a Tolkien fan-Rivendell would be the best comparison. The food is tasty and well made. The menu a bit limited if I wanted to pick at it-it had no specials. But the low volume they serve would not warrant that level. White tablecloth and candle service with staff of the Hacienda playing music table side (the only guess is when and how much to tip). This is an eco-friendly place run by the local Mayan citizens — who have much pride in it and in trying to do the best job possible. As a tour guide for the Chichen Itza site (*****and a person to ask for a ride from the airport and back*****) is Jaime Maruffo. 52 1 (998) 223 1685. Highly recommend him to get in from the Cancun airport (2.5 hours of toll roads, dually-named streets (two highway 180s), police check points every ten miles, bikes and mopeds blocking the toll roads).

Every single dish was amazing. Great service and nice ambiance.

The most dreadful place, I was on my whole mexiko journey. Overpriced and shameless service, which takes 18 € for a very simpel pasta and asked for more tip! Shameless ripp-offs! The rooms very tired, the bed — not worth you call a bed, the refrigiator dirty, loud and old. I switched off to get sleep. The swimming pool smelly and also dirty. Full of tiger-moscitos (not the fault of the hotel ;-) ) Spending only one night — so lucky, God bless you! Later my wife delete all photos of that place, she didn't tell me, because I want to show all the truth about this greedy hotel!

Hacienda Chichen. Excellent in every regard. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Cottage room with patio facing garden. Wake to birds singing.

Besides the rumours some parts of the resort are built using old stones coming from the pyramids next to it, it's a fantastic place just 5 minutes walking from Chichen Itza (it's the same area, the owner bought the whole years back), immersed in botanic garden with secular trees and spacious and very well decorated rooms.

We spent two incredible days at Hacienda Chichen Resort this summer with our two teenaged children. It is beautiful, tranquil and magical. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious. It has a private entrance to Chichen Itza, so it's easy to visit first thing in the morning, return to the resort for lunch and a swim and then re-visit the ruins late afternoon. We loved the swimming pool and the walking tour of the grounds. We will definitely return!

The whole Mayaland resorts are the best option.

My wife and I stayed here In early April 2016. We spent two nights here before heading to Cancun for the remainder of our trip. The staff is top notch, attentive and kind. If we had to do it all over, we would have just stayed at the hacienda. We stayed in the Merle Green room. Nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable. The AC rocked which was no small thing after coming in from the heat. The Proprietor " Izzy " greeted us immediately and gave us some great advice on when and how to tour the ruins. We beat all of the crowds and seemingly had the place to ourselves. The staff at the hacienda arranged for a english speaking tour guide for us at 40.00 US. Money well spent. Izzy also helped us to find a Cenote that was off the beaten path for an afternoon swim, this is a must do on your stay. Lastly the pool at the Hacienda is perfect. We had that mostly to ourselves also. We'll be back to explore more Cenote's and drink at the pool!

We found this old Hacienda to be very clean and the grounds well cared for. The staff was very accommodating. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was excellent. This hotel is a historic Spanish Colonial Hacienda full of history itself, but just a short walk from the hotel is the fabulous Maya El Castillo. Staying here gives you the chance to walk to the historic sites early in the morning when it is cooler and there are no tourists so your photos will be outstanding. You will have time to walk the entire historic site on your own. The tourists arrive by bus around noon and the place is overrun with people. Be sure to clap your hands together while standing at the base of El Castillo. You will hear an echo that sounds like a crow returned to you. Highly recommend the hotel and the local sites.

M. Mannino — Magical! I will be returning to the Hacienda Chichen in the fall for the third time. Does that say it all. The staff are friendly and alway's smiling, making you feel right at home and comfortable. I feel like ive left my friends especially after my second visit there. The rooms are spectacular, decorated with fresh flowers everyday. The Hacienda sits surrounded by beautiful gardens and huge trees, where birds serenade you all day. I loved going to the pool. It is filled with waters from a cenote and it leaves your skin feeling so soft. Afterwards I enjoyed spending time in my hammock on the patio taking in all the beauty mother nature has to offer us and feeling tranquility, peace and home! The food is fantastic! And the spa treatments are like no other experience you have ever had. Truly connecting body and spirit. The pyramids in Chichen Itza are just a short walk from the hacienda. I cant wait to return.

Magical Oasis! When I arrived at the Hacienda Chichen, I was greeted in front of a magnificent huge tree hosting a choir of birds by the friendlest staff. I felt pampered from the moment I arrived. The grounds are awe inspiring and I couldn't wait to swim in the pool filled with the healing cenote waters every day. The porch hammocks are so comfortable that I felt enveloped in peace during an afternoon downpour while listening to the soothing sounds of nature. I especially enjoyed the way our beds were decorated differently each day as we returned from our trips of exploration. This is an ideal get away for anyone who wants to be steps away from Chichen-Itza Temples and not feel like you are staying in a noisy touristy spot. It's a quiet sanctuary with food that is mouth watering delicious!

Spiritually Nourishing and fantastice! My friends and I used the Hacienda Chichen as our base for 7 days as we explored the Yucatan. Our first trip was in Sept of 2010 and we have returned six times so that says it all. The cottages are fantastic, the food is magnificent and the Yaxkin Spa is life changing. The Gardans are peaceful and full of life. The Staff is exceptional. It is truely a place to be. The resort is at the foot of Chichen so a gentle walk takes you to a very special and holy place. Every room is beautiful and well appointed, with everything you need to be comfortable.
