To my shame, I must confess that when booking, I did not make sure we had picked out a "bungalow with shared bathroom. " However, in this price range, I would never have expected such rooms to be offered at all. The bungalow (about 13 sqm) and the bed are extremely small. Unfortunately, this was not visible in the room description or in the pictures. The manager informed us, during her all-morning welcome round, that we would have booked the smallest room category and offered to provide us with a larger room directly should one become free. Unfortunately, however, this was not the case. However, I highly appreciate your attempt and service.
Since there is actually no reason to stay in the room, except at night to sleep, we have experienced the best time of our Mexico holiday here. The community shower was always free when we wanted to use it and therefore no problem. A little more opaque, though, they might be. The communal toilets are always clean as they are cleaned 24 hours a day. However, this also means that almost without that someone stands at the toilets and you never really have your rest.
The staff is incredibly friendly and always strives to fulfill all your wishes. Only the Margarita I would advise against. The bartender seems eerily in love;). In general, the cocktails take some getting used to.
The only downer is that you can't write drinks or food in the room and so you always have to carry your wallet with you. Especially on the beach a little unfavorable. It also bothers people who are not hotel guests to use the beach every now and then. In the 4 days we had here, these were particularly noticeable through loud speeches and music playback.
Apart from my own inability to book a decent room, the hotel itself was simply dreamlike. The service, the staff and especially the beach with its loungers and seats is a single dream. The prices are, as in all of Tulum, thanks to the crowds of tourists, many times higher than in the rest of Mexico. Nevertheless, I can only advise everyone to treat themselves here for a few days.
