I stayed at Hotel Cielo a couple of years ago. I loved it so much. It’s beautifully located a block from the beach you can walk around town, it is amazingly quiet and it even has beautiful Talavera sinks. And the people are wonderful.

This place at such moments with COVID 19 is offering discounts and inviting people to spend quarantine in Mexico, while there are already 2 COVID 19 cases in Playa del Carmen, and the government is trying to stop the virus to spread. THIS IS BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE! Greed is so destructive, your unconsciousness and ignorance is beyond belief.

Wonderful, authentic and very clean hotel Lovely Mexican hotel full of character. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was always greeted with a smile and were helped quickly with anything I needed. This hotel is within walking distance to good restaurants, the nightlife and shopping on 5th Avenue, the ferry to Cozumel, the bus station and the wonderful beach. But it's far enough away to be quiet at night. Don't forget to try out Carboncitos, the restaurant located right down stairs, the food is excellent! The tacos and authentic Mexican dips and sauces are to die for. A great place to eat and stay!

Very Nice service The food downstairs very good and the terrace with nice view only need a railing on the sides.

We were lucky enough to do a second trip to the Riviera Maya this past winter, and instead of going the AI route, we figured we’d try out this cute Boutique Style Hotel named Hotel Cielo, as it is the Hotel that houses our favorite restaurant when we are in Playa del Carmen. And we had the most amazing time! Not only is Hotel Cielo in a perfect location … just a block from the beach … there are 2 rooftop terraces, where if you don’t feel like heading down to the beach, you do…n’t miss a thing as you sit on the rooftop and watch the people, planes, parachuters, birds, boats, ferries, including the cruise ships heading into Cozumel. The rooms are very quaint, cute and comfortable and done in true Mexican style. The bed was super comfy. Water pressure and temperature was excellent. Housekeeping did an exceptional job every day and we always had towel art to enjoy when we got back to our room after a great day. The layout of this hotel is so very unique. Very Feng Shui! Loved it. The perk to staying here is the breakfast at Carboncitos every morning. Delish! And when you stay at this hotel, you get a discount perk for breakfast. The Management, Staff, and the Hotel Cielo Social Media rep all went over and above to make our stay as special as it could possibly be. They are the friendliest people you will ever meet and correspond with. Right from the time we considered booking this hotel, we couldn’t have asked for better communication via emai and messages.

No blankets. Loud at night. Miserable water pressure. Gross bathroom. All for 5x as much as an equivalent hostel. Avoid.

Fantastic hotel in a perfect location. Super clean and quiet. The best staff ever and you can't beat the prices. I stayed 2 weeks in room 22 and 24. Highly recommended.

My fiancé and I had a fabulous stay at Hotel Cielo. We actually just wandered up to it when we got off the bus from the Cancun airport, and the staff at the front desk were so warm and welcoming, the rooms were clean and beautiful and the location was superb to the beach and 5th avenue. We ended up staying our entire vacation and will absolutely stay again. The attached restaurant was superb — great breakfast and Americano, the grilled octopus was to die for and the 2 for 1 happy hour cocktails were fabulous. I'd recommend this to anyone for a relaxing and comfortable getaway, and the owners, Steve and Alejandro, really care about your experience.

The hotel is extremely cozy, if you come looking for something warm and very nice plus eco friendly This is the best choice! Almost corner with the 5th Avenue. The place is unbeatable and the Carboncitos restaurant below is ideal for enjoying excellent cuisine and excellent care. Highly recommended and definitely return!

Hotel Cielo is in a great location with very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are clean, attractive, the beds comfortable and the restaurant Carboncitos is pretty good too! I would definitely recommend Hotel Cielo, the price is very reasonable, a great room for the money!

Hotel Cielo is a gem in La Playa. I've been coming here for years and will keep coming. The staff, service, and restaurant are amazing — visiting here feels authentic, friendly, and warm. The location is within walking distance to everything. It is good for singles and families and the staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect! (PS — Best Guac ever is in the restaurant — I swear! )

Top notch, authentic experience! Beautifull and well maintained "boutique" style hotel. I loved the fact that there is a restaurant connected to the hotel and is run by the same owners who are there everyday interacting and caring for their guests! Second to none hospitality! Stay away from the "corporate"' style larger hotels that lack culture and authenticity. Hotel Cielo is where you want to be. Book it. Don't hesitate!

Lovely hotel in a great location. Hotel staff is very helpful with anything you may need. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. They are nicely decorated as well. The rooftop has an amazing view of the ocean and Cozumel. Can't wait until my next visit.

I love this hotel because of it's quaintness and location. How it can be so quiet right off. Of the famous 5th Av is a mystery. I love the decoration (traditional Mexican) but the staff and service are the true jewels. I highly recommend for personal, family or business trips!

My stay at Hotel Cielo was amazing. A real gem in Playa del Carmen. The owners Steven & Alejandra are a nice young couple and there pretty much all the time making sure that their guests are taken care of. Staff is courteous, knowledgeable and polite, always ready to answer any questions you may have about your trip and destinations. Cielo is on the corner of La Quinta (5Th Ave. ). It is walking distance to everything, the beach, shopping, places to eat, have a drink & about 2 blocks from the bus station. Can't be situated any better. It is a clean, peaceful hotel with great A/C and a rooftop terrace with a great view of the Caribbean. Certain rooms have that same view. I loved their all natural soap & shampoo. The Cielo restaurant is well known for their seafood and was quite full nightly. So that means, it is delicious and fresh. The restaurant is a great place to start your day. For breakfast, we loved the Motulenos eggs, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice & fresh fruit. Having breakfast with a view of the sea can never be bad. Hotel Cielo really lives up to it's name. Heaven.

I found Hotel Cielo right away in my search for a special location in Playa del Carmen to spend our 4-year anniversary. After reading about it on the website, along with all the 4-5 star reviews, I thought it was too good to be true — — But I could not find one hotel that compared. Hotel Cielo is in an ideal location, just blocks from the beach. They have a restaurant and bar onsite that has been recognized in several publications. The registration system was very secure, user-friendly, up-to-date, and very quick. They responded promptly to every inquiry, and offered superb customer service. Hotel Cielo is a real treasure. You will not regret staying here!

This beautiful boutique hotel is just the best. Each room is unique and super clean. The staff is awesome. Attention to detail is amazing. I also ate at the hotel's restaurant Carboncitos and it is excellent. The menu selection is so broad. The food was perfect and the service and atmosphere even better. The location is perfect because it is literally steps from the beach and 5th Avenue and the personal touches make this choice far outshine the large resorts.

Call and gave a price, when you get out that not always and they gave me a price almost double that on the phone.

I love this hotel! Every time I come I q! Sometimes up to x a night I stay! I feel very comfortable and I admire a view like no other! I recommend it 100%.

All very kind give very good maintenance and toilet in the rooms and in the hotel's restaurant, is called the Carboncitos their food are excellent. Widely I recommend it.

Stayed here in September 2013 and loved it. Ideally located in the middle of 5th Avenue, just a 5 minute walk to the beach and in either direction for some amazing cafes and restaurants. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I recommend having breakfast in the restaurant! Yum.

Have stayed here a few times and it just gets better each time, the new owner has spared no expense in updating the rooms from new beds to new TV's, the restaurant operated by the same owner is excellent, see there reviews on Tripadvisor.

The food is amazing as well as the service. We ordered Parrilladas. This is a platter of shrimp, chicken, beef, pork, vegetables, rice, mushrooms. Served with salsa and tortillas. We couldn't finish it. $300 pesos or about $27 dollars for two people. Between 3pm and 6 pm, you can order a bucket of 6 beers for $150 pesos. We also had a complimentary tequila shot after dinner. Excellent dinner.
