Excellent place… Very nice.

Great experience, very clean, concierge super friendly and helpful, the owners of the hotel very helpful and over all a wonderful experience.

My daughter and I stayed 8 nights here. Jorge helped us with anything we needed. The rooms were basic but clean clean clean. We had an amazing stay. Bed was great! I have nothing bad to say about Caribo Cozumel! Walking distance to eateries, banks, beaches, shopping.

The first night we had a cockroach in our room and the third night a SCORPION in our shower! Although the manager was disgusted by the scorpion, we had to insist that we want to change our room. After I told him that we have a scorpion in our shower, he asked me how big it is. I showed him with my fingers the approximate size and he said "Oh my god it's a big one". However, after he got rid of it, he told us that this was the very first time a scorpion ever was in any room … I find this very unlikely after his response about the scorpion size. He also told us some "would have, should have" stories what we didn't believe at all. The first impression of the hostel was good, but this incident has definitely ruined our stay and it will ruin your stay as well!

The host is very welcoming, friendly but still professional. We had everything we needed and the service was amazing. It is very well located right on ave. Benito Juarez which is part of the transversal road that leads you to the other side of the island. We had a wonderful weekend at Caribo Cozumel and would definitely go back!

I stayed at Caribo Cozumel for five nights in early June. I booked it because I was looking for somewhere inexpensive for a solo trip to Cozumel when I would mostly be focusing on diving and experiencing the city. The owners, Jorge and Carolina, are very friendly and professional and live on site with their family and are always available if you need them. I was in room 10, which is a standard room with a private bathroom. I had two entry doors, one from the street that I used almost exclusively and one into the courtyard where the pool is. The room included a small refrigerator, safe, table and chairs, AC, and a very comfortable hammock. A 1L bottle of water was provided and I could refill it in the common kitchen for 5 pesos. It is about a ten minute walk to the main plaza, but there is a well-stocked grocery store and several very good restaurants within a few blocks. Jorge gave me a map of Centro with some recommendations for restaurants and other attractions when I checked in. I know he actually likes these places because I ran into him and his family on my way back from getting fish tacos one day and they were headed to where I had just been. Despite not really seeing me all week, he immediately recognized me and sincerely asked if I was having a good time and enjoying the room.

It's expensive, but it's because it's on an island. The truth is very well just spend the night as we went for work more than vacation but certainly one of the best places I've visited.
I have to face, I charged $600 the night, clear gives coffee (not sugar), Shampo and conditioner (reduced, more water than the product).

Bath (very small).
Water cooperation ($5), when a carafe costs $18 for very expensive $21 if it is bonafon. I had qualified with 4 stars but now that you stole 200 pesos and you took the comment in a bad way being that I had not complained about your accommodation because I stay more than give the full description and welcome to the room.

Everything is fine. Something curious is that they ask for a cooperation of 5 pesos for every liter of water you take from the carafe of the kitchen. A carafe is between 18 and 20 liters and costs about 20 pesos. I think it would be easier if we included the cost of the carafe in the reservation and already, you take away from trouble looking for change every time you want water.

It's expensive, but it's because it's on an island. The truth is very well just spend the night as we went for work more than vacation but certainly one of the best places I've visited.

We stayed 7 nights here, and loved every minute of our stay. We arrived late, at 9pm, and Reza, the manager, waited for us to arrive. He was very friendly and informative, and suggested several restaurants that were off the touristy paths. The room was exceptionally clean, the Wi-Fi was incredibly reliable, and the coffee in the common area in the morning was delicious! Jorge and Carolina were readily available to chat, offer activity suggestions, and answer any questions. Jorge went out of his way to find us a bag of the organic coffee to take home with us! The cleaning staff was amazing and respectful of our property! I would recommend this hotel to any travellers looking for something other than the typical resort. Friendly and helpful staff, lucky enough to score the rooftop suite with sunroom, patio, hammock, etc. Island is ideal for scuba diving, and fun to drive a scooter around. Hotel had a small pool which is nice and a full kitchen, but no breakfast included and filtered water is offered for tips. A ten minute walk from the ferry terminal, with some good taco places around.

Good location, close to delicious food and grocery store, very helpful staff, very clean. Only downside was a somewhat uncomfortable bed. However, everything else was so great that this was tolerable.

Worst customer experience ever. Booked this hostel due to the great reviews. I contacted them today that we were still stuck in Guatemala and will unfortunately not make it till latest check-in time (9 pm) but will arrive between 10 and 11pm. They told me no problem, but there will be an extra fee of 200 pesos. I asked whether they can make an exception with the fee because our budget is tight. As a response they simply cancelled the whole reservation while we were on the way to Cozumel with no Wi-Fi (also told them) and gave away the room! We had to find a new place at 10 pm. I would not recommend this place if it had the last bed on earth, stay away!

Lovely guest house, clean, friendly hosts, free coffee in the morning until 11am, Wi-Fi, had bikes and scooters available and only 10 minutes walk from city centre.

Super owners, kind always ready to help you. The single room simple and comfortable, apart from the noise of a water pompo that unfortunately harassing. But Otherwise I found myself at home, there is the communal kitchen, the swimming pool where you can relax. It is located, fortunately outside the air of the hotels, the tourist, so you can enjoy the local cuisine and find affordable prices. You Can get your bike or scooter together directly through the hotel. Another clarification of the hotel is contrary to the smoke so there is a ban on smoking even in the common spaces outside!

Excellent Hotel. Owner and staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. Shared kitchen is nice if needed. Food recommendations and local map was a huge help. We will stay again next visit.

Excellent! Our flight got in at 1130 and we were lost deciding what to do until check in. Owner was MORE THAN accomodating and not only allowed us to check in early but gave us a map of the best places to eat and see. We are very greatful for the hospitality we recieved.
We are timeshare owners and honestly would have rather stayed here the week. No hard sales pitches or taxi needed. Really reduced stress.
(We came in a day early to save $$ on flights from Seattle. )
We will visit again as our stay here and the availability to explore authentic cozumel outweighs anything that we will get at our all inclusive. We WILL be back.

Jorge (the owner) is great — really friendly & helpful. The place is in a nice location, a few blocks north of the ferry port in Cozumel. Rooms are kinda basic but comfortable enough. It's not right in the thick of the tourist area which is great as it means you get things like a proper supermarket nearby and some of the more local restaurants in the area.

Clean, quiet and reasonably priced. The hosts were friendly and put on a couple of BBQs while we were there. Does not serve breakfast but gives discount for nearby restaurant. We really liked the restaurant. The air-conditioning worked and the common kitchen was well equipped. Our room had an onsuit bathroom but some do not.

Jorge and family were amazing hosts! Best place!

Nice kitchen, you can cook if you are staying longer. Amazing and very helpful owner. Was staying at the cheapest room and it seemed a little small.

Worst hostel ever. My girlfriend and I stayed in a private room for 2 nights. The owner Jorge booked another client at the same room while we were staying there although I told him we were going to stay for another night.
As my girlfriend arrives back to the hostel at 2pm Jorge asks her to pack our things and leave before the other clients arrive.
He would not let us have another room and would not pay her for the cab after the mistake he made.
She had to take a cab with all of our equipment (2 65 Liter bags and 2 guitars) and beggan to look for a new place to sleep for the night. Also the hostel is a 15 muinit walk for the center which is verry fustrating. You can find nice and cheep accommodation much closer. Good Luck!
