Lovely hotel and friendly staff.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff very helpful. Very clean. Breakfast and buffet at ferretti super. The only but is the tv. Perhaps at least 1 italian channel would have been great. But above all highly recomended.

I’m going to start with the positives — the staff are amazing, friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The drinks are competitively priced and the location is good. Now the rest…It started at check in when I was offered an upgrade on my room. We had already booked the second highest level of room (junior suite) but didn’t feel the need to upgrade to an apartment because there was just the two of us. BUT, I have hotels. Com status from travelling so much that I should automatically get upgraded when available. 4 conversations and 24 hours later we were finally moved. How they have the cheek to call our original room any kind of ‘suite’ is beyond me. First floor, overlooking the Main Street with a balcony door that didn’t close properly. The shower handle came off in my hand. Hair dryer was broken and dangerous and the bathroom hadn’t been upgraded in decades. They, very reluctantly, moved us the following day after I tried and failed to get a refund to move to a different hotel. If I was the manager of that hotel and I had a customer as unhappy as I was, I would have been happy to get rid of them. Anyway. We were moved to the very lowest of the possibleUpgrade. Please compare my picture to the one of the luxury apartment in the hotel’s listing. Worlds apart. For the inconvenience we were given a voucher for the ‘restaurant’. It should really be called a canteen. Sloppy service, inedible food, rude staff and I had to pay for the water we ordered to go with our ‘complimentary’ meal.

On our last night here of a 5 night stay. Absolutely loved it. Room was really big. Ideal spot to see the sights. Can't comment on the food as we ate out but what we did see looked amazing. Best thing for us was the staff, everyone of them were so helpful and friendly. We have honestly never met happier staff anywhere, a real credit to your hotel.

Spa was amazing Iryna was so gentle with my facial and looked after me. The only thing were the dinners as I am a vegetarian but don’t eat eggs the meals were quite difficult. But the chefs did try their at most best with the foods. But a recommendation for food is maybe do one vegan option, one fish option and one meat option and as for the deserts make a vegan cheesecake or pie so that vegans can enjoy as well.

Literally 5 stars for everything — Staff, cleaning, facilities, etc. And what a stunning view from the rooftop pool 😲 Highly recommended.

Marie is a lovely receptionist that rectified our problems with the previous male receptionist. She was friendly and upbeat and I looked forward to speaking with her upon travelling through reception. She is a real credit to your hotel and I hope everyone is forunate enough to encounter her on their stay.

The worst SPA I've ever been in my life. Let's start from the I existent welcoming of the receptionist that was really rude and pissed because we were 15 min late. Esthetically terrible, with all details, like doors, wall papers, service bathrooms and even the pool area was horrifying! The "fitting room" next to it was unbelievable, it was wet everywhere. Towels and "slippers" provided no comment. The bad thing is that the Hotel aspect is completely different from the SPA that they offer. The only good thing was the massage at least…

Lovely hotel and spa helpful staff sea view from room three pools gym and a cave bar with happy hour and entertainment also a car park we have enjoyed our stay there and would definitely come back again we would recommend to our friends and families hope to see you all again soon.

The rooms were spacious, we were 2 adults 1 child and 1 newborn. Good service and staff. Thnx for the wishes, my daugher turned 7, and when we came to the room after spending time at the pool, we found this little surprise ❤❤Thank you! p. Yesterday we as a family attended the New Year Buffet Lunch and it was AMAZING. Very good value for money, food was divine, great atmosphere and staff was great too. Well done and keep it up.

Amazing place to unwind and get stress free. Reception Manger Ana is so sweet and helpful. At the sales department, Ms. Micallef is so helpful to help you choose your days and give you best price Than you have Marjanna in the restaurant, the sweetest person in the hotel. She's a lovely person and go an extra mile to make your stay enoyable. Daniel is a very professional person that you find him in every f&b outlet by himself. A great team in an amazing Hotel. I will surely suggest to my family and friends to visit and stay at the Solana.

We cannot leave the island so we tried a one night stay at Solana, paying rhe price we did we expected nothing. What we got was a wow friendly service at reception, an amazing suite and breakfast delivered to the room. All be it we knew we. Old not any of the facilities but it was just nice to get away. Highly recommended.

We spent our valantiens day at this hotel. The place is neat and tidy, and we had a grand dinner. The prize is affordable for everone. Moreover I really loved the pool and sona.

We absolutely love this place! The staff is extremely polite and professional. The rooms are cosy and always clean. They value a returning customer with extra services. The spa is very nice as well, we always book for a massage at Nataraya which is simply great! :) Solana, thank you for making our stays so great and special!

The staff very polite and welcoming. On their menu there was nothing I would eat but one staff stoke to the chef and he kindly made me chicken in mushroom sauce (very nice) there is great choice of food there and all that I could eat if I wasnt full I would of gone back for more. We are only here for one night but will definitely be coming back for a weekend for the spa offered to us.

The Chef are So kind and helpful person. Especially in our group we doesn’t eat pork product.
And He do his best to prepare something else for us.

Went the Solana again on my 5th trip to Malta to see my three children. It is a very nice. Friendly. Helpful hotel and staff and I will be coming back here next year.

Booking for one time wasn’t enough. We already booked for another three times (Once a month). Hotel really nice and clean. During our stay without any problems whatsoever. Food really good and fresh. Last but not least the staff were very helpful and always with a smile on their face. As said before this won’t be our last stay at this hotel. Highly recommend it.

On arrival the staff were lovely and friendly and extremely helpful. We were offered an upgrade for a small charge and were shown all the rooms available to us. The food is great and generous in portion, rooms are very clean and well stocked. The spa facilities and indoor pool are very modern and relaxing and the top deck pool and bar are great fun.
I'd certainly come back.

Every time we have stayed here we have been treated with fantastic service. The hotel has been re-furnished to a very high standard and has the most amazing roof top pool! The view of Mellieha church is stunning!
The restaurants offer a great selection of food choices which were all so tasty! Can’t wait to visit again soon.

I would say at best a 2 star hotel. The pool is tiny and not very clean the rooms are definitely not cleaned every day, my sheets haven’t been changed for 4 days, I had to ask that they change it! For a 4 star definitely not acceptable. When I arrived genre was a huge yellow spot on my sheet, really gross, so called clean… way over priced for this quality. We ate a burger in the bar and horrible, probably the cheapest frozen meat of my life. Had a stomach bug afterwards.
The staff are nice and the director really helpful, but the amenities are a joke. I would definitely say it is a 2 star hotel. And btw also the room next to us is divided by a door? Like what the hell, so you can literally hear everything that happens in there. I would say you can come here if it’s really cheap, otherwise not so much.

We have just stayed at this hotel on our first visit to Malta. We cannot recommend the place enough. From the lovely surroundings to the excellent & helpful staff, everything was great. The food in the dining room was of a high standard considering the large numbers to cater for. We would definitely visit again and hope it won't be too long before we do!

We didn't use the restaurants but we had food on the rooftop which was lovely. Very clean place and lots of shops on the main street. A beautiful place with lots of culture and things to see and places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Loved the popeye village x.

Good hotel, still in the process of being finalised so can be a little “in progress” at times, however, it’s well put together, clean, nice, great location &, the staff quite literally bend over backwards for you!

Nice hotel, new and well maintained. Positioned a little out of town. Friendly and kind staff ready to meet any request. Too bad there were ants in the room walking undisturbed on the beds.

Bit of a love/hate with this hotel, pillows ridiculously hard. The staff was great, the breakfast was ok (mostly same every day, typical but good). They are still finishing Reno’s so a lot of the lifts were on and off. I think I’d stay again. Good store across the street for water, etc. Bus stops right across the street.

Going through a re-build and refurbishment (Aug18) but build not intrusive. Big difference between old and new rooms (don't accept an old room). Staff were great. Friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but not always restocked daily (missing towels/tea/coffee). Pool is good however can get crowded at certain times. Room differences above standard room: Junior suite, has a wardrobe with cooking essentials. Superior, has a sofa (and space for it). Most rooms have a balcony, which are small but two people could sit out or dry beach towels. They seem to be used by the smokers… which makes general sitting out unpleasant. Buffet breakfast is as expected… Bulk cooking. Plenty to choose from. Room can be noisy at peak times. Better value is Debbie's just down the road but you can't beat the convenience of eating in hotel. Dinner buffet was fine. A good range and choice but a bit bland. As drinks are extra, just spend eat out at one of the local restaurants. Groups that value convenience and ease, will appreciate the hotel buffet. You won't go to bed hungry! Overall it's good and could be better once building work completed (alarm went off a few times in the middle of night in first week and dust on floors throughout day on lower level). Didn't use limited Spa services, so can't comment on quality.

The hotel was a building site… room serviced twice, but had to ring reception for that to happen but got rude lady on phone!
On top deck all you could hear was drilling, banging all day, with a crane swinging over our heads!
Corridor was being plastered, sanded and painted as we traversed it daily!
Food at dinner was tepid to say the least.
Our shower blocked twice had to wait for maintenance to come, over one and half hours! But they seemed able to come into our room and use our shower to access a shaft they were building in when ever that wanted!
Will never set foot there again…

We arrived when the building was in a major renovation. No pool, no restaurant, no gym, no spa. The only nice thing is the room. Customer service was ok, but maintenance person barged in a few times in our room. No facilities at all. Comparing the price and that we booked 6 months in advance it is a big disappointment. As we walked by other nice hotels we felt sorry we came here. They should have not had customers until the building is not finished. Dust everywhere and smell… Once is done might be a better choice.

Good conditions for the price. Opt for the breakfast option if you stay here — good selection of food. Be careful when checking in and double check the room you booked. They will put you in the basement apartment even though you booked their standard room.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in November. The staff were friendly and were always there to help. Especially we remember Mark, who cleaned the rooms and Andrew the girl from the reception. It is such as they are the face of a good hotel! The room we had was spacious and always in the morning you could make coffee (for this was all the necessary in the room — coffee, sugar, milk and kettle). We can recommend breakfast at the hotel, especially for those who like to eat tasty and dense. There is a small shop, restaurants and a bus stop (to the airport 1 hour). Not far from the hotel there is a bomb shelter, we advise you to visit it, it will take no more than an hour. We wish everyone a good holiday!

A good place overall. But the room I got was very damp. Not very nice always having damp sheets and clothes…

Staff is super nice and sweet. The food is OK. The rooms are in need of renovation. But there is a small non-heated pool on the roof and in the basement there is also a pool. In Germany, the hotel would probably only have two to three stars. There may be other conditions in Malta. There is a view of the sea when you look through the alleys of the houses:) The staff is really loving and therefore the four stars.

A bit too far from the beach. Restaurant is terrible, especially if you plan to stay more than a week as the menu repeats itself each week. Food is below average and bland and white honestly, after five or so days any normal person starts to dread the meals. On day four we had breakfast elsewhere and have did this a few times since. We had the executive suite and for some reason all of the plug sockets glow blue, which makes sleeping a challenge. We had to try cover them up with books at night to get the room dark. One big positive are all the staff who are super friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel, great food and well situated for Malta's excellent bus service. The beach is 10-15 mins down hill, bit of a slog coming back up, but with a 7 day bus card (explore card available across the road at the stationary shop) its no problem. All air conditioned including bedrooms so even in a 40 degree heatwave its great. The staff make you feel so welcome and treat your kids wonderfully. No doubt we'll be booking again soon.

It was nice clean hotel easy transport, but far from Valletta, near papaya Village, hotel itself was cleaned had nice swimming pool on upper floor and underground too, gym was very little not much for weight lifting, don't think it was soundproof most hotel are not soundproofing to be honest unless you visit 5 star hotel.

Just returned from a two week holiday at the Solana & Spa in Malta, we had a wonderful time. The hotel is very friendly and the staff go out there way to be so helpful with no complaining, house keeping staff are friendly and our room was kept clean at all times, we have been a few time to the Solana and now with the new changes about to place at end of this year the hotel will been looking great. (1) Thank you to Ivan and staff in the restaurant great service. (2) Lassar for the entertainment also staff great service (3) Reception staff also pleasant and very helpful (4) Most of all the meeting of new friends.

Arriving at 03h00 exhausted and a little shaken from a mad dash from the airport, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and sent to our room. We were disappointed to find we had been given a double bed and not a twin room despite confirming a twin on arrival (we were not given an option to do so before by the travel agent) — this was rectified by an excellent front desk manager and her team and we were settled in a twin room the next morning. We found the location to be excellent and it was easy for us to hop onto any tour from our location. Mellieha is a beautiful quirky place with so much to do. We enjoyed the excellent reasonably priced restaurants around us. The staff at the hotel were incredibly welcoming and friendly and the local people in the local businesses do their town credit. There were one or two things that could have been better — the lack of beach towels for the guests except on rent was disappointing as it's a beach community — we would understand a deposit to ensure return but charging was a step to far we felt. The same goes for the safe key — again we were happy to pay a deposit but not to rent it. Ob we would recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Alright. So I'm actually still on vacation and living in this hotel but I couldn't wait to give it a review because we love it so much here. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and never make you feel dumb when answering questions. The hotel itself is lovely. The bar tenders in the AM and PM are great and drinks are awesome whether you order a cocktail or a cappuccino. Location is perfect; down the street from a beautiful church, the beach, a downtown area, and a bus stop. It's just so lovely here, I would definitely come back.

We took a fully equipped studio. Not bad but I had to tour the entire hotel inside to get to the apartment.

It's pretty and rather clean. The staff is nice. The area is very very nice. By cons room = room in basement DS L Annex and without real window…

Just returned home after an amazing stay at the hotel. Our room was huge and even had a sea view! The food was delicious and catered for everyone. We had lunch at the puccini cafe (within the hotel) on the first day we arrived and the salmon and prawn salad was divine!
The spa treatments available are well worth the money ~ very reasonably priced too ~

I am loving it here. A really nice hotel that ticks all my boxes.
I have a nice large double room (single occupancy) at the rear of the hotel, so nice and quiet.
I have to say that I would not like a room at the front of the hotel as it faces a very busy road.
Indoor pool with jacuzzi, and a roof top terrace with a second pool.
Staff polite and friendly and also various dining options in the hotel, including room service.
There is a pleasant bar that also has a reasonable food menu.
The only downside would be for anyone with mobility issues as the hotel is situated on a hill. Having said that there is a bus stop right outside the front door.
Also several decent places within 100 metres for food and drink.
I would certainly recommend.

The Hotel is located in the centre of Mellieha and close to the public transport to Malta and the island (but which require long journey times), is less close to the airport's X1 stop. The country is graceful but is more suitable for families and those who want to live in serenity. Breakfast very disappointing and meals in the hotel even more (fortunately the alternatives are not lacking). The spa experience was pleasant.

I would have to stay there for 10 days in late August (2016) but once on the spot at the monent of the check in I was told that due to the non-availability of place, I had been moved to another structure of the same management and of equal features. The fact is that at this property I did not find myself well and I am not satisfied.
On the spot I was told that the tour operator (online) I had relied on was informed and it was up to him to warn me. On the other hand I heard the exact opposite.

Good hotel in central location in Mellieha close to the bus stop with a direct connection to the Airport (bus X 1 about an hour ride). Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet, as well as the dinner buffet for those who opt for half board. Indoor pool with Jacuzzi to relax for those like me who arrive during the winter season (there is also a SPA). On the terrace there is another pool with pool bar. I stayed in the main building in an interior room with a nice bathroom (the balcony was very small and still faced other interior rooms), a bit noisy at night maybe for renovations going on.
Value great.

Me and husband spent 3 nights here, loved it from room to breakfast to staff, had a lovely few days didn't want to go home thank you.

If you want a Hotel on a steep main street Bay you have to expect the cars to hear. Quiet is something else. The Hotel itself is for me only a 3*Hotel. All of the rooms except Comfort. Those who like to be in a dark, noisy hole dwells is safe even with the Economy satisfied. Food and staff very good and friendly. Overall, still recommended.

We stopped here for dessert after dining at Ta'Peters across the road. (Not the best food or service! ) There was live a musician playing here and he was playing popular tunes of not so long past. At the bar there was a selection of desserts and the menu offered milkshakes. The decor was lovely and modern inside and there was plenty of varied seating. The lady at the bar seemed less than impressed about serving me, making eye contact initially and than again after realising I actually wanted to make a purchase. Gabor on the other hand was a nice gentleman who made up the shakes and produced them with a smile and well wishes. Shakes and a large cookie later we were content. Although the cookie was a little dry and good price considering the size.

Nice room, clean and functional, excellent and varied food, friendly and helpful staff, pool is set on the top floor with sensational views over the Bay.

The hotel staff was nice. Our room was spotless. The services was good: gargantuan breakfast, two pool which a rooftop with a cocktail bar, shuttle service offered to the effective airport. Negative point: we could not take advantage of the spa, 4 days out of 7 with low slots.

Beware of non-balcony/ internal/ economy/ special offer rooms, those are underground or poorly ventilated and you will enjoy a dark, slow and breathless death. Unless you manage to survive for a week. No rooms are available if you want to switch. Air conditioning unit was filled with dust and odors, bathroom has a few broken or clogged things, but otherwise the hotel and rooms seemed clean. Food is good, peple are nice, with the exception of the manager (she should be more customer oriented, but I guess she's used to negative feedback and doesn't care). Wifi costs way too much and safe in room is a paid option. Bus stops are nearby, location is noisy if window is to the main street. Teenager groups are also present in the hotel and you might be disturbed when sleping. Conclusion: this is not a 4 star hotel, but 3. Their response to negative reviews is always the same, you will get no simpathy and also they do not reply to website mails. Avoid.

Yes area is quiet but cheap 7 day bus ticket €6.40 adult will take you anywhere on the island. Valetta 1 hour 16 mins away. Local extensive public beach facilities 4 min bus ride but be prepared for a white knuckle ride on well used buses. Food good and lovely attentive staff.

Nice hotel with Nice staff. All requests were addressed directly. Breakfast quite English. Only the village Mellieha is very quiet and most life takes place at the loud and busy thoroughfare.

Hotel is good: the pool, the reception, the rooms, the breakfast. But Melieha town is too quiet! next time Bugibba! =D Travel Notes: Melieha has a good beach, better than Golden Bay (water too dirty. With algae, of course, but dirty! ) and Paradise Bay (too rocks! ). Malta is good for couples and for people between 16-22/25 years old. For them I suggest Peace Ville in St. Julians.

As Tour Operator, I recommend them as an excellent hotel, with great facilities and a top class service.
