Room and pillow smelly, felt ithcy after lay on the bed. Not really clean.
After we make complain at the reception, they just spray some room perfume and tell us can go back to the SAME room.
We give up the room at the end and looking for another hotel, bad experience.

Nice place to stay. Just 7 minutes from hotel to Jonker Street and Hard Rock. No need to drive your car because the hotel just nearby from the attractions place at Melaka.

A nice place to stay, within walking distance to historical places, friendly staff, plenty parking spaces and reasonable room price. Love the architectural beauty of Sterling The only thing is that the management should make more maintenance check to all the rooms / bathrooms and rectify all "small" problems. We have a leaky shower hose in the room. Small problems will become bigger if left unrectified.

Book the room with the spa bath. The hot shower seems not working so fine. Breakfast is okay situated at the rooftop. Room is somewhat affordable and quite worthy of the rate.

When you come, there is an electric lamp that cannot be used.
There is also rubbish left behind by the previous group of tenants.
There is no hot water.
And there's no hairdryer.
When informed, the service personnel directly answer so late no hair dryer, otherwise you can directly complain.

The hotel choice was more for the location than anything else. Placed at just 10-15 minutes walking distance from Jonker Street this hotel exudes an old Victorian charm. The paintings in the lobby, the chandelier, everything was in tandem. They offer welcome drinks and muffins and other patisserie. Since we arrived 2 hours early and their check-in time is 3pm they asked us to wait in the lobby. Instead we decided to grab a quick lunch. Thankfully by the time we came back we got our room. We had booked deluxe family suite with spa bath. The room was huge with 2 double beds, clean linen, toiletries, coffee-sugar-tea sachets, 4 small pet bottles of water, hair dryer. Breakfast was complementary. The staff was helpful and cordial but had delayed response time from reception. For anything that we ordered there was a wait period of at least 15 minutes. Overall a good stay experience.

I live in a jacuzzi door 116 suite.
The photos are very different from reality. Open the door to see the curtains drop, 2 lights can not be lit. Contact them. The light bulb can be turned on. But the curtains drop. The staff explained the genius. I just stayed one night. You won't be ready until tomorrow. Somehow!
The jacuzzi does not have hot water, and hot water in the shower room is also a problem. Switch hot water hand is also broken. Just take cold water. There are no wardrobe doors. The original door is believed to have been broken so it was taken.
The interior is full of fake flowers. The walls were damp and black. There is no serious maintenance at all.
Very disappointed. I won't come again. Rotten Hotel.

Good but worn. The hotel must have been a real pearl about 3 years ago, but now, its good for a short stay. We booked the celebration room for a steal and we're not dissappointed. If you can overlook the wear, you'll be glad to stay there. Location is good, as it's close to the attractions. Hot tub fans will be in for a treat.

A decent hotel in the heart of Malacca. Awesomely big bathtub with jacuzzi features. Breakfast is decent. You get what you pay for.

First time I checked in to this hotel, it was nice, cozy and just 4 mins walking distance to the place I wanted to go. It's a bit older but still I am satisfied.

If there's an option for negative stars, this would be worth — 5 stars. I've booked 3 rooms for 3D2N and this is my worst experience ever. The bedsheets are not clean and there's mosquitoes in the rooms. 1 room doesn't has water heater. The other room air conditioner stops working every 2 hours. The family room toilet choked and floods after bath. Was hungry in the middle of the night and the staff pointed me in the wrong direction with nothing to eat. For the price they are charging, I was expecting a much better experience and instead my vacation became a nightmare with endless nagging from my travel companions and wife. Avoid this hotel. Do yourself a favour and save the trouble.

I booked two rooms with Expedia and saved a lot of money. The rooms I got had a Jacuzzi which is really nice to use to relax in. The rooms are also really spacious and comfortable. The staff are really friendly, helpful and nice. The only thing I did not like was the breakfast at the hotel. It was not very tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Not too bad, grand front, and 2 king beds in the junior suite. Although the room furnishings look a bit dated but there is no bad odour from the carpeted floor.

Strategic location to the tourist spot like jonker's street, like 10mins walk. Room is clean and enjoyed the stay.

Nice building but room needs has some dust. Was disappointed by it customer service as I accidentally left my glass in the hotel and sadly they can’t deliver to me even I told them they can bill me the charges. I have to either pick up my own or ask a courier service to do it on behalf.

Walking distance to jonker street is bout 15 mins but overall hotel in well nice kept n lovely for a nite.

The rooms are great. Centralized aircon and rainshower baths. 4 pillows on a nice big Queen sized bed. TV reception wasn't so good for some channels. They did have 2 sports channels for the aficionados. We got the room that's right next to the "balcony". Which is a fancy place to sun yourself if you so desire. Great view of the street at night. Some minor cons: — the hotel doesn't serve dinner. — we took the package without breakfast but I thought for the price, breakfast should be inclusive. — the room is really really far from the lift. But its a nice walk. — the water kettle in the room had the plug head for China so it requires an adaptor which the hotel provides. Prevents theft I suppose. Some things that surprised me. — the hallways had soft piano music. Its the little things. — being only 4 floors, the lifts were always speedy. — the lifts require a key card before taking you to your floor. Safety! — they had dehumidifiers spraying scent in the hallways so there wasn't any musky scent from the carpets.

Booked a deluxe room with SPA tub. The room is neat, cosy and spacious. The SPA tub located outside the room at the balcony. It is fully covered and won't be able to see by nearby room. The water pressure is good n nice Jacuzzi to relax after long tired walking in Malacca town. Walking distance to all attractions n Jonker walk. Ample parking space located behind the hotel.

Decent place to stay. However, there are no extra facilities available if you're hoping for a hair do or a dip in the pool. Overall OK. Exterior looks nice.

So much potential. Pretty good location and nice facade but the interior is lacking. Isn't very well maintained. Our room's toilet had loose control knobs.

More than pleasant stay here. Front Office, housekeeping & security staff are uber friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean and rooms spacious. The location of the hotel can't be better. Food is all around — coffee shops, wet market, quaint cafes, pubs & just a stone's throw from the ever bustling Jonker's Walk.

Service is good but breakfast needs to really improve. The hotel is stayed air-conditioning is not cold so I request to change room. They change for me but this time the hot water is not hot. We ended having cold shower.

Sterling located before entering into the busy Junker Street where traffic is held up, one can just escape from it if you choose this hotel. However, the mattresses are sinking down throughout the years, they should consider having to change it, bathroom wise, especially the jacuzzi needs to be cleaned, there were visible stains. Other than that, staff were friendly, great location, and in a quiet street.

The Sterling Hotel in Melacca is very luxurious and it is one of the best hotels in Melacca. It is located only a stone's throw from jonker road (or street) and it is very convenient. Great scenery from the room and it is clean.

Nothing special but way to pricey for what they deliver. Rooms are ok but rundown and need repairs. Needs to be cleaner for a 3 star hotel. Shower has no hot water and 2 out of 3 regulqtors are broken. Half used toilet paper roll as a back up, seems picky but why not include it here. No bags in the bins either. Over all would be ok for 20$ not 60$, wont come back. See pictures. (aug 2017)

The place look nice from the outside. The minute I stepped inside, I was dissapointed for putting my hopes high. The hotel is considered as "ok ok lah". NO SWIMMING POOL is unacceptable. The security is the bell boy. Pls expect cocroach the minute u enter the lobby. Im supprised that this hotel is a 4 star hotel. The Sterling should think of the things that they could've done better. I do see potential to be better.

I will give this hotel 3.5 star. Less 0.5 star being the strong mildew smell from carpet, really unpleasant. Other than that just need some minor renovation. The room is spacious, and the Jacuzzi is big and working well. Staff are friendly and service is good. Easy access parking. Good location, just walking distance to Jonker street and historical place like A'Famosa, Chinatown.

No extra blanket, should have 2 toilets for 5 pax room. Expecting to have same standard as Symphony Suite in Ipoh.

The worst I lived in Malacca and kite hotels! Only one to two nights of money!
Many more than 380 hotels, general layout, no pool, no gym, no breakfast, there's nothing there, the hotel charged me 2! Only one to two nights of money! Bad attitude to say that now we are trying to help you resolve the problem, you do not ask your friends to come stay in my hotel, don't don't it! This kind of attitude? Let alone managers tell me that? Suggest that you go to other hotels and cheaper than him, than he is comfortable!

One of the TOP Hotel in Malacca. It deserves to be a 5 Stars hotel.

The room was nice, and it had an indoor jacuzzi. Just that the water there was not hot enough and the colour of the water was brown. As for the breakfast, it was kind of disappointing.

A nice surprise in the middle of Malacca. We were happy to find this little gem at the last minute. Good facilities, good breakfast, and located near most of the prime tourist spots. The breakfast menu was a list of fixed sets but overall it was fine. Parking space was adequate though I can imagine that during the peak holiday season, it can fill up pretty quick.
