Enjoying the Xanaduduo Jazz evening at Meritz, the meal was perfect, really good food! Kudos to Chef Gabriel!
The staff were attentive, the band entertaining and Datuk Lau himself was mingling and really appreciate his effort at knowing his guests and that’s hospitality!

Nice room. Great place to spend the weekend.

A good place to relax for the weekend. Quick Check-In Service and helpful staff. My Superior is spacious with awesome City View and breathtaking view of the South China Sea. Dining is awesome, shopping is just closeby and complimentary hotel parking is just at the basement. Recommended hotel and will definitely come back here.

It was the worst experience, aircond in a our room is so hot, not working properly, they got us another room but still hot, the room is not clean enough, due to hot, it trigger my baby’s eczema. The water is not clean. The room is so big that my baby can run freely but we will never stay here again.

Dear sirs, I have just spent a night in your hotel, which is beautifully located. However my husband and I are equally disappointed. Staying here costs practically the same as at the Marriott, but services there are much better. I see the potential in your hotel so am writing to encourage some change. Pluses: — Great view from the restaurant and the room — pool is in the sunshine in the afternoon Minuses: — Shockingly mediocre breakfast; feel like you're begging when you want to eat eggs or roti, because the queue is long, bread is at least 3 days old, options are limited and everything is either lacking in flavour or covered in probably toxic sauces — Although we had told you that I'm allergic to dust and ask to double check that the room had been aired out I still had to take an antihistamine during the night. — Shower had a bundle of hair so clearly had not been cleaned. — only half a roll of toilet paper had been put in the bathroom — miserable choice of shower gel as it had a terrible stink — no bath robes — bathroom door handle opens upwards (a sign would be helpful) — you say there is internet but there is none Most of these things are easily fixed, but without them your hotel is way below expectations.

Nice place for rest few hour n good value.

Great place & facilities like swimming pool & restaurant. In the same building with Bintang Megamall. So you can access to shopping mall very easy.

I went here few days back, I like the environment and the grand ball room design but not for the food taste and quality. Banquet serve customers with dirty plate and utensils. Make sure you check your plate and all the utensils when you a dinner at Meritz Hotel.

Good location and price but this hotel has a lot of problems. The reception could not find our booking made through Expedia and it took them over 30 minutes to resolve this, after which there was no apology. The room was rundown and needed a refurb. It was too dark and there were no bright lights around the bed for reading. The towels smelt and the hairdryer was hidden in the bedside cabinet drawer, and not where there book said it'd be. When we went to sleep and turned out the lights, the smoke alarm started bleeping intermittently, which meant the battery was low and needed replacing. Pretty much the worst hotel I have stayed at in many years. The reason for two stars is the location, you can go to the mall and nearby restaurants easily. There's also a taxi rank, one minutes walk away.

It was my first time staying at this hotel. Car Park is reasonably easy, except if you came near the dinner hours. The lift was smooth, got 3 lifts. Lobby environment quite luxury. The front desk staffs were good. Checking in were pleasant. So we went to our room. The room was big, two single beds as per requested. The interior was very good. Except the bathroom. There was a large glass screen between the bathroom, it was like 50 percent visible. The rest are very satisfying. 2 stars for the bathroom facility!

Modern hotel with decent sized room with basement parking and ajoining with a big mall.

This hotel offer good buffet every weekend. The foods in buffet line is really delicious.

Place is dated. Originally given room 1325, no in toilet phone and no hot water to the sink or shower/ bath tub. Called up front desk, changed to room 1311.1311, no hair dryer and the water drainage in the shower area is slow. In both rooms the Wi-Fi is basically non existent, hotel will loan u a Wi-Fi hotspot but with a RM$ 50 deposit returnable upon return of the hotspot. Other than other staff is quick, efficient and friendly. Room is quite clean bed the bed mattress is a little too soft.

Hotel looks four star but unfortunately no hot water…

The parking sucks The room not been prep for arrival of the guest Bathroom is clogging and did complaint yet no action been taken Eventhough using premium parking, yet it is hard to park n going out cause of other people parked right in front of the premium car slot parking Free Wi-Fi just for fun (not connected through) No initiative by the management to correct or action on any matters of issues.

Totally not useable shower head. So I suspect the house keeper did not even clean the tub because the shower head could not spray any water out at all. Receptionist was very rude as she said I was not supposed to complain to her as she is just a receptionist. But then she also told me the duty manager was not available. Haha what a warm welcome to me for booking twelve rooms in this hotel for the first time. However to be fair to the hotel the price is considered cheap.

Free Wi-Fi & fast. The food is ok & many choice. The hotel is clean. The pool & gym. Only one movie channel.

Accessible to shoppg complex nxt door. Also vast varioys food stalls suurounding it.

Wanted to give more star for the nice view and strategic locality, but hold back by room design and up keep. The counter service is just ok. Food at lvl 17 is moderate, n service start late for breakfast.

Among the luxurious hotels in the city which offered a good price for customers who's come as far as Bruneian and overseas.

Very difficult to get a car park for hotel guest as there is no designated / reserved parking. Poor reception upon arrival. Wi-Fi bit hard to connect & slow. No heater for shower n towel looks dirty & bit smelly. Unfriendly receptionist when check out (sour face). Apart from these, room is spacious & located above bintang mall. Much to improve.

Good facility, nice and clean room, fantastic view, but very limited parking for guests and front desk personnel not so friendly.

1. Very accesible to shopping & entertainment. 2. Staff are friendly and efficient. 3. Different decor for every floor. 4. The meeting area per floor is large is very conducive for meetings/gathering/chilling. 5. Free parking Basement, Lv 4 & Lv 6 6. Breakfast was cheap and the view on the 17th floor was amazing! Improvements: General maintainance and toilet cleanliness.

The room is big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is ok only, not much choice. The Wi-Fi is bad, I can't even connect even its visible. Rooms service is very bad and upsetting. Just to ask for iron it takes 4 calls and about 1 hour for them to finally deliver it. They even ask me to send my shirt to laundry department to iron there.

Cool services with an affordable price. Lower rating for blind person to move around but higher rating for the staffs's professionalism and willing to help every time we nedeed.

Very nice place to stay… nice hotel… but the parking sucks. Three star because of the parking. No guest parking. Sharing with the public. Although its a 4 star rated hotel.

I just stayed here like literally a day before this review was made. I had read tons of mixtures of reviews but I prefer to be as objective as possible. First of all, check in is at 3pm. Nonetheless, I arrived at almost 1pm and when a room was available, I was checked in right away. So that was a plus. The room is NOT as rundown as people had said. Its quite well maintained actually. The facilities are good. TV has lots of channels, a lot of sports ones by the way and the aircon is cold. Moreover, the Wi-Fi is strong. Parking would be a bit tricky if you are thinking of parking in front of the hotel as the spaces are limited. So, you can park in the Bintang Megamall basement. Quite packed actually. Nonetheless, you would find a space to park eventually. There are securities for basement parking too. Just get your parking pass to the hotel reception to be chopped to ensure your parking in the basement is free. Simple as that. Others are just really minor things such as should be two sets of toothbrushes but to me these don't matter. One thing to take note was the limited number of elevators and the huge number of floors the hotel hold. This is a bit inefficient when there are many hotel inhabitants. Nonetheless, wait a bit and be patient. The elevators will be available soon. You can just walked down to get these things at Watsons or Guardians anyhow. Enter the shopping mall via Parkson from the hotel's lobby. As simple as that.

So so, the swimming pool has great view and the staff is friendly, however it should restrict the guest who wear T-shirt and pant, this is swimming pool not playground, very unhygienic.

Nice location & views for customers stay. One of the good buffet breakfast served here. Parkson attached to same building hence shopping no need to drive & including to watch movies & play balling too.

Great view. Rooms clean & comfy. Room service is fast & friendly. The front desk service could be much better. & where is the bell boy? I have to push the trolley for my luggage on my own.

Poor service poor housekeeping everything are poor…
Check in suppose to be at 3pm then the room not ready had to wait half an hour, after half an hour the room still not ready had to wait again and they said the housekeeping still not ready the room. Then the others reason they said the towel the linens still not dry. We asked for the alternative room they said fully booked. We had wasted 2hour waiting for the family room and we are the last one!

Over all are good. Only problem is parking issue. Hard to get a parking space.
Very satisfied with the beakfast. They keep refil even almost reach closing time. They still allow guest to having their beakfast even already pass the beakfast time.

Everything was good, a very convenient place to stay in! But the saddening part are the towels! I agreed with the rest, the towels are smelly even if u asked for new ones! It's high time the hotel needs to wash it properly like adding up the scented softener? I believe it doesn't cost much! I stayed here for 3 days and I had to ask for new towels everyday but STILL the towels have a very bad odour!

Nice environment and theme hotel.

For crying out loud I don't really understand how can people swim in that pool. Seriously clean in for gods sake. It's dirty and murky. I can understand if there's some leaves and twigs seeing that it's an open air pool but a bird carcass? Seriously? And I'm not talking about recently dead I'm talking about only bones left. Come on guys cleaning the pool isn't just about draining the water and filling it back up. Check the filtration system and clean it daily. Since it's an open air pool use netting to clean out any foreign objects. Not to mention the gym. Yes I know it's a cheap membership but seriously I'm not asking you to add equipments or anything like that just maintaining and servicing the equipment will be great. A lot of the equipments are either in bad shape or just unusable. The assisted barbell machine cable snapped and the grease on it is dried up. Most of the seats and beds for the machines cannot be adjusted anymore cuz the screw snapped. Back machine also broke like months ago. If you're not gone replace or fix it throw it away. It's just wasting space. Treadmills rattling like there's no tomorrow. The barbell bent at an angel making it dangerous to use. I'm not really sure what the management is thinking hiring guys to sit around all day doing nth accept folding towels. Aren't they supposed to maintain and test out the machines? Prevention is always cheaper compared to cure isn't? Well just my opinion anyways. Hope management does smth about it.

Very bad customer service. I ask for an iron the reception just simply answer don't have. And the room is very bad lit too. Not suitable if you want to do your work.

Lousy hotel… serve torn towel, clogged sink and bath tub and the bed linen, pillow and cushion look old. This is second time I stay here and they still don't resolve the clogged sink and bath tub. Room 1423

Excellent hotel for 4 stars in town. It's affordable and absolutely worth your stay. Believe me! You will never regret staying here.

Is it really a 4 Star Hotel? Lobby:Not like a 4 star hotel Lift: Very small. Deluxe Room: In general room is ok. Many plugs in the room, Nothing special about the TV and TV programmes all hotel do have the similar TV programmes Lighthing: Not maintained as some bulbs are not working. Bathroom: Water Sinks too small. Due to poor water tap head, the water can splash all over. Wifi: The worst Wi-Fi service among hotel in Miri Food: GRAND OLD LADY Restaurant: Not recommended. Breakfast: Very limited choice. Taste of food: Poor. Will think twice before check in to this hotel in future.

It's alright. It does have an Marina-Bay style pool, a sky garden and a good restruant but the rest is very average. If you usually stay in 5-star hotel this isn't the place for you.

Rooms look decent from the outside but behind the facade, the materials used are poor in quality and cheap. The frame for the sockets came off and feels plastic, there is a wall mounted TV and offers only 10 channels and no sports channel for avid footie fans. Bed linen is awful. Lots of fluff. Service is bad, I was having breakfast this morning and tried to get some butter packets but the waiter gave me "the look" and told me to get some from the big lump. If it wasn't for its close proximity to Bintang Megamall, I wouldn't choose to stay here. There are plenty of other options in Miri such Imperial Palace and Mariott Miri although it's located quite far from downtown.

Only two lifts to service the entire hotel. Expect a looooooonnng wait. Rubbish.
