QuiikCat Bed and Breakfast

This place makes you feel like home! Very helpfull staff, up to day information about visiting attractions, great location, cheap rent of scooter and bikes, breakfast 24h and shops next door. Clean, hot water, quiet but if you want, chats with nice people is easy at the chill zone in reception or in the kitchen. You can admire all cat wall art and statues and add your own. Thank you for the great time!

Good budget hostel and good value. Very clean hostel.

This place seems to be rife with fake reviews. No way would it deserve a 4 or 5 star. Rooms with NO ventilation and unsanitary bedding. Air conditioning looks like it's more than 20 years old with no cleaning done. Bread, jam and margarine shared by all guests with no hygiene. Cute cat decoration yes, healthy place to stay, no.

Avoid this place as much as possible as they will make sure you got charged for their own mistake and never answer the call and also emails. Shame on you guys. Thank god I didn't stay here.

I do not recommend this hotel. The rooms are dirty and the beds are uncomfortable and with the sheets with stains. I think there are other options of equal price and better for the area.

Cheapest palce to stay la wei. 3 day 2 night, 8 people rm 40 each.

Good location and clean. But the dormitory was too small for my liking, so I moved to a private room which too was small but I did not have to share the space. Breakfast is boring coffee and bread. In general, standard of hostels in Borneo was much inferior than in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. QuiikCat was a shade better than others. But I cannot say my stay was comfortable, far from enjoyable.

It is very good location, as well as match with budget traveler. They also try to reduce the tourist tax for guests. It was quite ok to stay there. If they can prepare the locker available in the dorm, it would be much nicer.

Warm hosts, bars across the street, walking distance to water front and food! Great!

For sure this is a budget hostel, but it's among the best hostel experiences I've had. The family that runs Quuik Cat made my trip great. They were endearing, warm, and attentive to guests. I got the sense that running the hostel is more of a way of life for them than a business, and it made a difference!

"Street facing room on 1st floor — Loud noises from across the street during weekend nights, please only book the room if you are ok with this" While I like the place, I only managed to stay 1 night out of the 3 nights booked. This is due to the loud music from the bar across the street during weekend nights. It's so loud that even with ear plug I can still hear it. The management is unable to do anything, and even asked me to go and speak to the bar myself when I went down to… voice my concern at 12.15am. In the end, they agreed to go but am not sure if they did or not or perhaps they did but the bar refuse to listen since the music went on till 1am. I ended up calling Kuching police myself for them to interfere at 1am. The next day, I asked them to refund the balance and moved out, which they kindly did. Staff were awesome, but the front room facing the street is only for night owl who would go to bed at 2am onwards, definitely not for family on weekend. I wished they had stated that in their room description. Perhaps the room can be improved with some sound proof gasket around the window?

In case you're hungry, you can make your own food at the kitchen at the end of the lower floor. It was a great experience to stay here during my mid-sem break. For sure will be staying here next time!

I love this place so much. The place is affordable and so worth it! The view is wonderful, I watched the beautiful morning scenery as I stayed in 2nd storey. The place is very clean. The kitchen is full of food which is free to eat anytime (already asked the owner).
The owner is very friendly and very welcoming me and my friends to Kuching. This place is highly recommended to anyone, especially backpackers!
