Great place to stay. Friendly American owner. One point down — he presents his coffee as "organic and fresh" but is not actually a drip coffee but instant, very acidy taste coffee. But the breakfast is excellent and delicious! Will come back for sure.

Lovely villa with large and nicely decorated rooms. The garden where breakfast is served is also beautifully done. Lovely breakfast, the basil egg omelette is awesome. The host greets you every morning and serves breakfast, and shares with you lots of stories. First class service.

The guesthouse is pleasant and clean. Breakfast is provided. It’s location is very strategic for morning wet market, which is probably 30 meters away and night market if you walk a little further.

A nice clean and comfortable guest house. Great owners and staff. Very tentative and helpful. Don't expect a 5 star hotel but instead a human interaction with staff and fellow travelers. The breakfast is AMAZING! Thanks for a week long pleasant stay.

Definitely worth considering. Andy is a great host, very helpful, and from North America so he speaks fluent English. The rooms are nice and well kept, the tour options are perfectly adequate, and laundry and beverages are available for a fair price charged to your room. Also the location could hardly be beat. The free breakfast is excellent!

Great 5 nights at Manichan Guesthouse. Andy, his family, and the staff are amazing! They made sure I was comfortable and had all the resources I needed to get around and enjoy Luang Prabang. I would definitely recommend staying here and will stay again if I ever return to LP. Less than a minute walk to the morning market with tons of food and just a couple minutes walk to the night market and the he Mekong River. Very centrally located! I had a private room with a double bed, fan, ac, and en suite. Room was clean but the Wi-Fi did reach the room. Which was fine, all I needed to do for Wi-Fi (though I had a SIM card) was open my door and go out into my the courtyard.

In a quiet side street close to the morning market and river rooms clean and comfortable owner helpful and accommodating good value for money breakfast was nice filling all day coffee was a bonus.

It was a wonderful stay. Andy the Business owner was such a nice person that it felt like visiting a friend plus he gave us lot of good advice on which places to visit. The room was clean and he was aware of our arrival. The food was really good. The location is amazing you can simply walk to most of the places such as the Museum, Night Market, …. If I go to Luang Prabang again I will definitely stay here.

Just great! A lovely place. Andy and his wife really take care of the guests! I felt very comfortable! And the food there is incredible good… Specially the home made bread.

Imagine that you get suddenly a message, that you have relatives in Laos and you are welcomed to come. You decide to go, Andy (the guy, who is supposed to be the one of you family members) provides you via email all needed information. On the way to Luang Prabang you come to know, that you arrive too early (5 to 6 am), but for Andy is nothing problem. Is ready to welcome you, including some more people you have got to know in a bus.   Nice story, isn't it? This is how we felt in Luang Prabang at Manichan Guest house. The breakfasts are great, location next to the palace. 2mins walk from an amazing night food market (eating at restaurant is waste of money and time). 30s walk from Mekong. You can have tea (many kinds), coffee (great) and water any time for free. Soft drinks and beer are in a fridge for reasonable price.   Laundry service great (nice smelling clothes back in few hours), you can get bikes or motorbikes directly at guest house. Andy and Venus are nearly all the time there, you meet them whenever you need and they provide you service you need. And such a nice bill at the end of the stay I have never seen ;-) — in such details… Only during paying you realise, that Andy and Venus are actually not your family, but the hosts during the stay at Luang Prabang.

Conveniently located neat the river and the Royal Museum, Manichan has more to offer than spotless rooms and a smiling staff.
