Beautiful place. The restaurant has good breakfast and the service is quick and efficient. A bit pricy (as hotels always are) but I would definitely visit again. P. S. The picture is a smoking zone at the front of the hotel, although you can smoke anywhere :)

Nice place. Good locality… the proximity to town makes it even better. Surprisingly quite too. Clean swimming pool that is also not congested. Service delivery: simply amazing.

The food at Heron Portico is amazing. Their breakfast buffet is a must have with variety to spoil you for choice. Their swimming pool is heated and very private. I totally loved my conference there.

The place is beautiful and the people friendly. Nevertheless the services need to be improved in the details in terms of improving cleanness, completing toilet items, defining specific smoking area, refining some dishes, etc.

Spent a week in this hotel and it was incredible. Loved the food like crazy. The best range of food for someone like me who isn't Kenyan and isn't used to the native food here. I could at least make choices for a range of pasta, potatoes and other types common to me. The attendants were all wonderful and always smiling. We used their meeting room for the week and the service for the meetings was just splendid. There are a lot of foreigners lodging here and the security is high. Lovely place. Cozy. Recommended.

The hotel is in a quiet part of the city. The Swahili decor gives the hotel a regal calming laid back ambiance for relaxing or working quietly. The staff are keen and eager to serve you. The food is savory and can't complain during my stay there. A great place to spend a retreat and enjoy Nairobi, it is within walking distance from city center.

Great hotel with nice décor, clean rooms and friendly staff. Good food from the two restaurants. Pool and poolside bar. Free safe and aircon in rooms. Felt safe here thanks to security on gate and entrance.

The food and drinks are a bit on the pricier side for a hotel of its rating. The staff are abit slow and waiting time for meal preparation is long. The ambience is great though and seating is private nd comfortable, tastefully furnished.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the room we stayed in had a terrible stain on the bathroom, the towels we're faded and the service was horrible. The guard even made us open the gate ourselves when we we're guests who had paid and made reservations and their restaurant is not operational 24/7, the only meal they had at midnight was fries, we had to wait till breakfast to have a decent meal! It's an old property but still very well preserved. The rooms are clean the staff friendly. It's a stone throw away from the CBD which makes life easy. I would definetly stay here again.

I have stayed at the Heron Portico Nairobi Hotel during short stop-over work trips in East Africa between 2011-13, and in my recent trip in the during middle of May 2016. I have also used the conference facilities at the Heron Portico to hold a workshop for over 10 staff in 2012. Overall, what stands out at the Heron Portico is the hospitality and courtesy of staff towards visitors. In addition, the rooms and other recreational hotel amenities (pool, restaurant and cafeteria) are clean and the cuisine served caters for the palate of various nationalities. For the above reasons, I would return to stay at the Heron Portico and would recommend others to do so. It is close to the city center and hence access to various routes especially during peak travel times.

It was excellent experience of stay in hotel, We were on business tour for 4 days from 18th till 21st Feb. Hotel ambiance is nice, secured, and all staff members were very helpful and cooperative, We must appreciate the service standard and the hospitality Mr. David has extended to us during our stay in Hotel.
