This hotel is beautifully situated, but potential guests should be mindful of the potential for abysmal customer service. I booked without breakfast included, and then instantly canceled the reservation and re-booked with breakfast included. When we arrived at the hotel, we were made to wait for 20 minutes in the lobby because the staff said they did not have a room available and might need to accommodate us at a competitor hotel. Ultimately, they were able to find a room for us. The problem is that a few days after our stay I noticed additional charges on my bill. The hotel charged us substantial "no show" fees for the original canceled reservation. When I forwarded them proof that I had, indeed, canceled the reservation within a timeframe to avoid financial penalty, they ignored my email and subsequent attempts to contact them. They did not reverse the charges. Adding insult to the injury of ignoring unassailable proof of the canceled booking is the fact that we obviously stayed at the hotel under an active reservation, they had to scrape to find us the room we did occupy, and they never mentioned a second presumed reservation when we checked in. "Customer Care" at Marriott Corporate was worse than useless in trying to resolve the dispute. Ultimately, I ended up providing pertinent documentation to my credit card company and had the charges reversed through this pathway. But the process was ridiculously arduous. My advice is that travelers stay at a different hotel that upholds ethical standards.
