Very nice! The rooms were small but cozy. The bathroom/shower room was large and had plenty of room. It is about a 5 min walk to the station and there is a 7-eleven right around the corner. The staff were very friendly.

My favorite hostel in Tokyo! Very clean and tidy. The staff is friendly too. There is a great rooftop to hang out on and common room to meet locals and foreigners. I made many friends while staying there. It is located near Ueno and very accessible via trains. It is also the cheapest hostel in the area, and frankly you get way more than you pay for. There are TONS of showers and they are super clean. There's no curfew too. The only thing I would change is that the co-ed bunk room was pretty hot at night for my standards, also had a sweaty smell (not the hostel's fault but the people staying there). They offer a deodorizer spray for your shoes etc. Amazing place.

Super clean and modern hostel. There’s a floor with showers that are the cleanest hostel showers I’ve ever seen with awesome water pressure. There’s a nice rooftop to hang out and the common area is very relaxing with really nice staff. Would recommend & stay again.

Clean well-lit communal bathrooms and clean wooden bunk beds. Downstairs there are sitting areas for groups, a kitchen, and computers. It's a cheap hostel though and attracts some immature guests.

Clean facilities. Plenty of showers. They allow you to store luggage before you check in and after you check out to make it more convenient for arrivals/departures. Rooms were a bit small (although we did have a lot of luggage). Staff were nice and friendly. Spoke English as well as some other languages.

Great facilities, with extremely clean rooms. Beds were very large, then, didn't need me, ate all individual. Bathrooms are extremely clean, and well-maintained. Toilets were high-tech and very interesting to use. Friendly staff and helpful attendance working the front desk. Located slightly away from The Happening spots in Tokyo, but had great access to Metro and available. Small rooms, but adequate for the size of Tokyo. And great facilities.

This is probably the best hostel I have ever been. The staff is nice with excellent English (comparing with Japanese). The bathroom is super clean, with a large area of tidying yourself. Bed is big enough to lay your important belongings as one pleases. The common area is big, usually doesn't filled with lots of people. This hostel also doesn't have stupid curfew. The only reason I don't give 5 out of 5 is because this hostel isn't located in nightlife district, which is one of many highlights for Tokyo. But other than this, everything of this hostel is perfect.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff is super courteous, and really helped me plan the itinerary. They suggested some good places to visit, eat, and to buy from. Hostel beds were nice, with extra sheets and a lamp. Bathrooms were super clean (so please keep it that way if you go). There were 2 things that set apart this hostel from the rest — 1. Its in the center of the city (walking distance to Ueno park) 2. They give bicycles to ride for free for 3 hours. Highly recommend this place!

It's a fantastic hostel near a metro station. The facilities are great! You get free shampoo and other things what you need in a bathroom. The beds are clean and good to sleep on. The prices is really good if you look at other hostels. If never been to a better hostel on my half a year journey. So that says something about this hostel. Also a supermarket is around the corner! The picture what comes with this review is something that you can do in walking distance of the hostel. If I will come back too Tokyo I will stay here for a second time!

This is the most personable place I have stayed at. I only stayed hours and wished I had stayed longer. Learned how to make Takoyaki. The people staying there as well as the staff made me happy to be there.

Comfortable, clean, friendly staff, in the showers are full of facilities for personal hygiene, there is an open terrace, air conditioners, the mini kitchen has utensils, tea, coffee. Metro, JR nearby. Ueno Park, the temple of the goddess Cannon. Rooms for 4-6-8-12 people with bunk beds, on each-curtain, can be insulated)

Great hostel! Clean facilities, internet, pretty comfortable bed, lock and lockers provided. Shampoo and body wash also provided. Workers were really nice and helpful! They were able to accommodate my late check-in. Also the toilets are awesome (heated seats, Bidet, the whole shabang). 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

They do not separate smokers and non smokers. I stayed in a room with a strong smell of tobacco. There also isn't any storage other than tiny purse sized lockers so people's belongings are all over the floor. Otherwise the facilities are nice and modern with spacious showers and clean bathrooms.

Very clean hostel with warm comforting spaces. There is a small social area on the ground floor, however it doesn't feel as social as a bar, so much a common living room which closes at midnight. It's a 5 minute walk from Iriya station (Hibiya), and a 20 minute walk from Ueno which is a nice area. It's two trains (or a train + 20 min walk) from Narita Airport and close enough to the rest of Tokyo. I'd happily stay here again, but if I was looking for something very social, then I'd probably look elsewhere.

The staff is kind, friendly and helpful. There's a chatting area where travellers gather and get to know one another. The atmosphere is warm and peaceful. Bedrooms and toilets are clean. Remember to visit the garden on the rooftop!

the one thing that inconvinience is the hostel not include breakfast but you can walk to a restaurant ; it is not far but it is not so delicious.

Spent 4 nights at Space. Nice, clean, confi beds (tatami mats on the floor) and, last but not least, nice and very helpful staff: special big up at Mao and Akiko for their kindness and patience! Sorry I do not know other staff's names.
Would definitely go back there!

It's very comfortable. All the spaces are always clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful, with all the concerns that you have.

Very clean, quiet location close to Subway system. Was able to use credit card to pay which was a nice touch. Very helpful staff at front desk.

This hostel is great. The staff is very helpful, they have an Instagram account that they encourage you to follow (you get free water and snacks) to learn about things in Tokyo. The hostel is clean and modern, but it's not the closest to train stations (7-20 minute walk).

I really recommend this place. The personal is very very nice and helpful, Always with a smile. They do classes of Origami and other things. They have a nice common area, and you can have tea and coffe for free all day. If I go back to Tokyo I will definetly stay in here again.

Nice little hostel. Stayed in both the 10 and 8 bed dorms — good way to meet other travellers, especially if travelling solo. Good showers, though I've now stayed in a number of hostels in Japan and this is pretty consistent, so maybe less of a differentiator. Roof terrace would be lovely in Summer, communal area was small but functional and again helped meeting others. Hostel puts on small ~weekly events as well. Only real downside is it's quite far out of town (away from Shinjuku), but convenient for getting to Narita airport.

Kool staff. Beds are confy. Showers and very near convinient stores and a Jr line. All the things you need to get going and explore. Alot of people complaint but for what you paid. Heck. A bed a shower and a Internet and lounge area to chill for a bit. Why not!

Perfect location next to a great sushi-ya, near iriya Subway line which connects to ueno station for connection all across Tokyo. Super clean hostel. Great hostel service.

I spent 2 nights at the Space Hotel in April 2017. I was by myself to visit Tokyo and I had barely stepped into the building that I met a couple young adults in the same situation. We connected right away and visited Tokyo together. The Space Hostel is located close to Asakusa which is a historical neighborhood with shops and shrines. The roof top is a great feature to observe Tokyo at night after a long day of walking around. Rooms are clean, staff speaks english.

Great place for backpackers! Staff is super friendly and will help you find places to visit around the hostel. Located near some really good ramen shops and a shrine is in walking distance. Nice clean rooms and cool view from the roof.

Immaculate, nice staff and facilities, uncluttered, enough bathroom facilities. No breakfast served. Not a great place for socializing in a group, especially at night.

I had an amazing time at space hostel. The staff were all incredibly friendly, the amenities were incredible — including comfortable and private bunks, great showers, and a nice general area — and the price is hard to beat! I would definitely stay here again on any future trips.

Location is pretty central in Tokyo making moving around the city easy. The facilities are clean and look very modern. The beds are long enough for nearly anyone to use. Rooms are anywhere from private to a mixed group up to 10 people. Overall it's a good experience.

So clean! VERY impressed. Other people mentioned a list of rules that was offputting — I entirely disagree. They had a couple basic rules to ensure the cleanliness of the hostel and to make sure everyone had a good stay; for example don't use the showers between midnight and 6am because there is a dorm right next to that bathroom. Another rule was to not eat or drink in the dorms. Those make complete sense and I appreciated those rules. The only downside is that there's no bar so it's a little more difficult to meet people and it's kinda far out. But I would definitely say there again.

My foot on the ground in Tokyo. I appreciated the excellent organization, facilities and the accessibility to the transportation networks. Smiles are also very warm. An area located close to Uéno and Asakusa. I like.

This is that first hostel I've been to and I love it. The beds have privacy curtains and are definitely comfy and clean. The bathroom arrangements are a little odd but very efficient and clean. Showers on 2nd floor only but the are plenty of them. Rooftop patio with vending machine is a nice touch. Free computer use in the 1st floor common area, also essential. Location is not directly next to transit but given the price of the hostel I'll happily walk to where I need to go.

The bathroom is super clean, providing shampoo, lotion, cleanser. The facility feels like all brand new in this hostel. But this hostel is a little too big to make friends… a little sense of alienation. The Taiwanese staff is cute, kind and willing to help which will provide me a strong incentive to stay again.

Very friendly staff which accommodated a late arrival. Comfortable sleeping space, good shower and bathroom facilities. The common spaces encouraged socialization. In a bit of a quite neighborhood.

Very clean and comfortable, as it was recently built and being well kept. Good amenities including Wi-Fi, computers, kitchen, lounge and rooftop garden. Only a short walk to the metro and JR stations.

A very lovely hostel in a quiet neighbourhood. Very spacious rooms with a big lounge to chill, use the computers or just socialise with other residents staying at the hostel as well. The bathroom shared with everyone has many separate shower rooms so you'll definitely get a room either in the morning or evening. Staff are very kind and polite (as are all Japanese people). Lots of shops close by that will cover all your necessities. For what you pay for, a very good price. Will come again when I next visit Japan.

Awesome hostel. Pros: clean, nice staff, 11am checkout, rooftop Cons: location (the hostel is REALLY far from the more downtown kind of areas. It's almost an hour away from Shibuya) I would not stay again purely for the location. Other than that it's nice.

New hostel that gives you more than you expect to get from cheap accommodation. Very friendly stuff, clean and comfort place. Located 2 minutes walk from a metro line. Highly recommend.

Brand new hostel located in the Taito region of Tokyo. Prime location to start of any trip. Me, my brother and a friend were one of the first to visit this hostel. This Hostel has got it all, you can immediately recall that this accommodation is designed and build by a traveler. The owner and staff are really nice and helpful whenever you need them. They all speak English and can help guide or plan your trips in and around Tokyo. One big plus as well are the beds. Although they are Japanese style beds, it has been the most comfortable sleep I had in 2 months. Jorgen, NL.
