Station with an absolutely stunning and pretty architecture. Of a colossal size has relatively simple connection with bus, Metro and train. It has countless shops — including luxury — and catering establishments. Deserves a stop to see her and take some pictures.

Beautiful inside and out. Very big and crowded. From the outside you can see how they are coming out and reaching the Shinkansen.
All very organized and tidy.
It has conventional train and bus lines, long distance and Shinkansen (bullet train). The Shinkansen goes out every half an hour and the normal trains do not stop arriving; There's only a few minutes to wait.
The station has several shops of all kinds and cafes, to ATM places where to take money. Even some restaurants need a reservation!

This is a great place to go if you just want to look at all the amazing trains we don't have the in the states. Many of them look like spaceships or fast jets. If you have young children you could spend the entire day here just watching these amazing trains go by. I alone as an adult spent about three hours just watching them. Make sure to time your visit to see the Shinkansen (Mag Lev Bullet Train)

Everything is easy and clear there are everywhere explanations on English.

Need to find your own way to the destination you want to go — a combination of ‍♂️is best. A continuous movement of people coming and going, locals and tourists alike. Too busy to even take pictures.

Very crowded station yet nice and clean. A great number of restaurant is available through out the station. You can also buy souvenir here.

Our experience in Japan is being excellent. A great country with a people more than friendly. Unfortunately there is some isolated incident as we have had on line 26 in the afternoon in which the bus driver has thrown us the same claiming that our daily pass (purchased in the same station aurobuses 25 meters) is not worth that line. Nor even has given us the option to pay the ticket. Of course a fact that will be isolated but that leaves us very bad taste of mouth.

Big. Very accessible from any direction by any kinds of transportation option. Has many entrances even connected to AVANTI mall by underground walkway. Understandable signages for tourists. This station provides everything. Shopping hall, restaurants, lockers.

Huge station. Pay close attention to the directions for the track from which you have to leave, you arrive in advance if you do not know the station because you can take some time to reach your track (who are different points from which the trains depart)
There are plenty of shops, restaurants and tourist services.
In addition to the Shinkansen, this season starts the train to Nara and the Kansai airport.

One of the nicest train stations I have ever seen. Perhaps little inherent in the Kyoto city lines but definitely done very well. Inside there are restaurants and shops of all kinds.

Kyoto Station is a very large station, near the better shopping is Kyoto station down the underground shopping malls, the other is can pass through the road can also be reached through the underpass Yodobaxi shopping malls, should be said to be my favorite shopping malls. Nearby although there are bigcamera and other shopping malls, but not particularly recommended ~yodobaxi shopping malls upstairs there are some restaurants are also good, there are sales of watches and clothes can be tax-free, but also Chinese response ~ for Kyoto Station Underground shopping malls have a lot of clothing brands suitable for girls to buy, there are Muji and Starbucks, And if you want to bring Japanese refreshments to your family and friends, Kyoto's matcha biscuits are pretty good.

It's a big, beautiful station. You can also see Kyoto Tower a glimpse of Kyoto's night view Kyoto station is the representative station of Kyoto, Japan's largest tourist city. The train station is quite well served by other transports for all other connections to make visits, taxis, coaches, buses etc… No hesites to ask for information at the Tourist Office for plans, advice, hotels… It is a place I will never forget.

A perfect hub for transportation around Kyoto. You can exchange trains and buses here. Signs and directions are plenty so you won't get lost. Plenty of restaurants as well. For bus passengers, be advised that Kyoto Station had stops in both the northern and southern side, and the only way to go to one side from another is inside the station itself, and it can be quite a walk.

More than a station is a small town: there are restaurants (some really good), bars, cafes, shops of all kinds, shopping malls and even a cinema. In the daytime it is very crowded and a bit chaotic, but still very nice. In the evening it is beautiful; Much less crowded and full of colorful lights.

Beautiful and huge train station. A bit too big for foreign visitors to get around. Lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. Also have hotel, cinema and department stores. Main bus stop is at the northern exit of the train station, so it's very convenient.

It is kind of a maze but there are signs to help you get around. Can be very crowded at times. The building is stunning itself, there are a good selection of shops and amenities at the station.

This is one of the most beautiful train station in Japan. When you got to Kyoto, be sure to soend time to admire it‘s grand modern architecture design. The station also features a department store, all kind of restaurants, a hotel and shops that carry of all kind of local goodies and souvenirs stores.

Lively, cute station! Fell in love with the station, tons of small shops and restaurants. You can find anything you want here. Directly connected to a mall (cube and so on), bus stops to every attractions in Kyoto and also Kyoto tower.

Gorgeous and huge train station. Easy to navigate. Many food, hotel and shopping options on the grounds. Brilliant architecture.

Modern, functional and full of shops and restaurants. On the 7th floor there is a suitable area for families with babies (with changers, highchairs, microwaves) and on the 10th floor a terrace overlooking Kyoto.

One of my favorite train stations in all the world. The architecture of the ascending escalators is gorgeous. Let your kids ride them up and down for 30 minutes to blow off steam before a long trip. Tourist info center is very good. ATM's that accept foreign cards are located outside, on the ground floor, at the bottom of the escalator area.

Big station — there are lots of shopping in the train itself and there's also a famous strip of ramen shops just near it. Very delicious and would go back to eat ramen any time!

Wonderful futuristic station, if you have a couple of hours use them to explore it! it's such an experience!

Beautiful impressive station! There is way to show at the top and have a nice view. The infrastructure is really nice inside.

The bus terminal needs a bit more information to help the tourists, while I was waiting for a bus to Kiyomizu temple (about 10 minutes) I helped two tourists to find their bus to different temple in the city. Just a thought, maybe adding the pictures of the temple on each bus stop there would help (picture speaks a million words).

The first night when I arrived, I hated the Kyoto station. The different levels were confusing, the outside looked ugly, the Porta and Cube mall floor plan was a maze and confusing as hell. On the second day, I became familiar with the platform floor-plan and it was less confusing to navigate around. I hate it less now. On the third day, I discovered the staircase that lights up at night, and the amazing long chain of escalators that takes you up to the 12th floor. I also discovered the rooftop viewing platforms and sky-way. Now the weird and confusing map for the Porta Mall suddenly makes sense. Summary, it's not a good looking building from the outside, but give it time to discover the interior and you might fall in love with it.

Huge train station and the many escalators worth it to take to the very top. It, you down expect a special view of the station building. In addition, you get a great first views of Kyoto.
