Excellent stay! The hotel is very very clean. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. I have nothing negative to say.

This place exceeded pur expectations! From the moment we stepped in to the time we left we were truly looked after. The room was spacious clean with a traditional Japanese touch. The bar and the restaurants are well postioned and are worth a try. The free shuttle bus is a great addition!

A brilliant hotel with great stellar service. The shuttle provided by the hotel takes you to a great location close to many public transportation stations and shopping districts. This helps make up for how far it is from the center of town. It is a great place to stay when seeing the beauties of Kyoto and its suburbs. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and polite and the room we had was great. We had a wonderful experience and will most likely stay there again next time we visit Kyoto.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is located in a quiet neigborhood by the Kyoto Imperial Palace, so as you are getting to the hotel, it is difficult to believe you are going in the correct direction. From the outside the hotel looks somewhat creepy, but once you step inside, prepare to get amazed. "It is bigger on the inside! " The service and all the amenities are outstanding. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a very enjoyable stay. The prices are more on the high end, but if you hunt for seasonal deals, the rooms are quite affordable.

Top class hotel. Rooms impeccable, service second to none, the whole experience of staying there was a delight. We were there six nights and enjoyed the experience of coming back to our room after a full day of sightseeing. My wife and I could not fault anything about the hotel. You'll definitely not regret staying there.

Very nice hotel. Staff were amazing. Amenities were nice. However the beds were hard and uncomfortable. Hard to sleep. American breakfast was nice but Japanese breakfast wasn't my taste.

Room is wide, good equipment, waiter quality excellent, although the location is poor but the price has to do a balance, there is a pure look at everyone's needs, the hotel has shuttle bus and taxi, so I think you can patronize again.

Negatives Location isn’t the best, nothing close by in terms of good choice of restaurants. Need to take shuttle bus and train ride to get to Kyoto. About 30mins. Very expensive in-house restaurants. Western Breakfast buffet is ok, but light on choice of foods for the price. No pancakes/omelette requests. Room service choice is limited. Ordered cheese platter which only had 4 crackers for two people. And a lot of processes cheese On the plus side: Rooms are very good and spacious can sleep four in comfort. Staff are great and very friendly Close to imperial palace and nijo castle.

Great hotel! Very friendly staff, big cosy rooms and we'll situated to explore Kyoto's many gardens! I would love to call out Kumiko Sakai, the concierge as she helped us book some great restaurants! I would not recommend the breakfast in the Feerie restaurant, it's not worth even a third of the charge as the buffet is quite bland. Using this as a benchmark for the hotels' perception of value for money in regards of food, we decided not to go to the teppanyaki in the hotel even though we were tempted at first.

Great atmosphere, big rooms and professional service. We stayed 4-nights in this hotel and were very pleased. Especially the staff was very friendly and helpful, the concierge Kumiko Sakai booked all our chosen restaurants and she even provided us with a map on how to get there. The hotel also has a very nice champagne bar in the lobby (also serves other drinks) where you can get a nice nightcap before going to bed. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast buffet at FEERIE. It is very western focused and the variety is very limited. It would have been nice to have a Japanese & Western combination buffet. When booking we were skeptical about the location of the hotel, but the hotel provides a shuttle bus and within 10-15 minutes you are in downtown Kyoto. So that was no problem for us, as I think you would pay a lot more for rooms with this quality & size in downtown Kyoto.

Really nice hotel. Price was great for the huge room we got, super comfortable bed, only went to one of the on site restaurants but the food was amazing.

The staff were friendly and polite. The director is clean and tidy. Food and beverage also meet the level above. Every 20 minutes there is a shuttle bus to the exit of the Karasuma Royal Pool Station and the hotel. The left-hand side of a subway exit staircase, and so on, do not doubt Oh! The place belongs to the noisy. Ideal for travelers who want to relax and take a leisurely vacation. In five star hotels, the CP value is high.

This review is for "Terrace Restaurant Feerie", located on the first floor of the Kyoto Brighton Hotel. We visited this restaurant for a family event with five adults and two toddlers. A reservation was made a couple of days ahead of time, a reservation specifically requesting two high chairs. When we arrived there was only one high chair and the lady helping us tried to argue with me that my youngest (1+yo) is too young for a high chair (we brought our own waist belt strap so it was fine), despite the fact that she couldn't possibly have known the ages of the children (just that they're not in elementary school yet) before we arrived. I don't mind that there was only one chair (everyone makes mistakes, I've worked in service before) but I don't think it's very professional to cover for staff mistakes by arguing with a customer. She should've just apologized and brought out another. We ordered the "order-made" course which afforded us a choice between five main entrees and access to the buffet for appetizers/soup/salad/bread/dessert. The main entrees were not particularly excellent (though certainly not bad) but the fact that they were tiny and took forever to come out is quite memorable. I realize they're handling a relatively large number of orders at once but by the time we got the main dish we could've filled up on the buffet. The extra cost of the order-made entrees didn't seem worth it — if we were to visit again we'd probably just do the buffet.

Good service and comfortable stay except for the breakfast. The breakfast had two options, western and Japanese, and each cost ~$30. The western is buffet and didn't have many options, and I would say its not worth it. The Japanese is a standard washoko set, but they can't accommodate vegetarians. So if you want to stay there, probably do not book with breakfast. The location is not in the center of the city, but there is a shuttle bus that runs between hotel and subway station every 20 mins or so.

Overall excellent experience staying at the Kyoto Brighton hotel. Staff were helpful and courteous. Hotel provides shuttle service to and from the nearby subway station.

The service is good. The rooms are a bit tired though.

I honestly have never stayed here, just have. One her often for parties and to have a drink or a coffee. The food for the catered parties is Amazing!

The room was perfect and the location is 8 minutes from the Palais imperial by the area you can visit walking.

I've stayed twice at this hotel and both times were a great experience.

Great hotel very close to city with free shuttle bus direct to the subway. Close to most attractions and accross the road from the imperial palace gardens. Good place to stay with that little bit extra and very warm baths at the end of the day. Good small restaurants close by in walking distance.
