Great place to stay, clean and neat, walkable distance from the train station, with a Lawson's nearby.

Cheap hotel, clean, near the station, remember to bring your own bath towel, also can rent 100 yuanri coins.

The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and well-equipped. The Green Brigade with washing machine and dryer is really super convenient.

Fantastic place to stay: super clean, comfortable, with a well-equipped in case you like cooking your own meal. The Kotatsu in the shared area is a gem and gets people to exchange and talk.

A nicely furnished and, for Japanese standards, very spacious and clean hostel with English-speaking staff. The hostel is located about 2 min by foot from the town's train/bus station, so it's well accessible by public transport. Altogether, Aso Base Backpackers was among the best stays we've had japan. Good price-performance ratio — to be recommended!

Clean, comfy and hospitality rest place for travellers visiting Asok San. The staff was so nice even help me to put luggages onto my car during check out.

Unexpected high CP value environment, Hall public Space Facilities and a Japanese-style warm table! There's everything in the kitchen and it's not a problem to cook your own meals. The location is opposite Sioux train station, next to a home Lawson, but the supermarket is a bit far away.
Service staff English OK attitude is also very good, the hostel also provides a ticket to the nearby Soup House (Dream soup) shower, a 300 yen, very value for money! Nice place where you can choose. Their facilities is completeness and good decoration of rooms. The hotel also sale the Japanese Spa ticket where near with Aso station.
One ticket are about yen, and it is worth. There is no heating in the — — — room, although the quilt is very warm, but when you get up there will be a little cold. No heater in the room. Although the quilt is warm, it would a little bit cold at you wake up.

One of the few hostels where I really felt like home. Spotless and beautiful design, very stylish and tidy. The staff was very helpful with planning my day trips. Convenient location and free tea and coffee. It was hard to leave here after 3 nights and I recommend this place to everyone.

The hostel is cool but the earthquaqe one year ago destoyed all the attractions. Even the mountains around aso were closed down so you can't hike very well… but the hotel itself is very nice.

Excellent hostel with modern abd clean facilities. We had a double Riom here which was cheap and comfy. Everything we wanted!

The hostel is new and very nicely designed. The room are really compfy and the common area are really cool and new. Good place to stay if you want to visit aso.

Nice bunks beds. Friendly staff. Good view. Nice tea. I was supposed to stay 1 one night but the kept adding nights, did not want to leave this cozy place and lovely area. Perfect location for the mountain. Hitch hiking up works great.

Although Mt aso was closed due to An earthquake, the staff did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Very clean and comfortable.

Aso Base Backpackers is a beautiful establishment in the small town of Aso right by the train station. The hostel is very clean, spacious, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. There are also discounted onsen tickets that you can purchase from the front desk for the public onsen nearby. Restaurant option is a little bit limited in that area and the front desk also closes at 8pm. Make sure you give them a call before hand if you are taking the last train to Aso and will arrive late.

Friendly staff. Lovely place. Free Wi-Fi. Maps for free rental and discounted onsen tickets. Simply great.
