Good place to stay while you visit one of the best spot in Japan. Kimmy always had the best movies playing and some good drinks available. Highly recommended.

Not just a place to stay, Japow house is a home away from home. Miyu and Kimmi go the extra mile to make sure you feel at home and help you with anything you need.
You can even get home cooked meals by Miyu and are worth a night in to try along with some sake or local Myoko beer.
Snow in Myoko is some of the best in Japan & Kimmi is invaluable with his knowledge of the resorts and which would be best to go to depending on conditions. Can't recommend Japow House more highly. We will be back for sure!

Great lodge in Myoko. Family run business done well. Service was friendly, prompt and easy to figure out where everything is. Shared kitchen available if you want to cook your own food as offered breakfast is just toast and cereal. We had a lovely stay here, thanks Kimmy and Miyu!

If there is a place I’d travel across the world for it would be to come back to Japowhouse in Myoko. Kimmi, Miyu and the whole family are without doubt the most accommodating people that I’ve had the pleasure of staying with. If you’re unsure of where to stay; this place answers the question Will 100% be back.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience on our week stay. Kimmy and Miyu are great hosts who were always there to answer questions and help when needed. The rooms are a good size for all your gear and the hostel has great facilities for all of your snow gear. The bathrooms, toilets and other shared spaces are always clean and the breakfast and pres were great. There's a short walk into town where we ate at some nice restaurants suggested by Kimmy and Miyu (who were also more than happy to make reservations for us). Kimmy always had great advice on where to ski that day and even came out with us and showed us around some of the mountains. A great experience and it made our stay in Myoko so much more awesome! Thanks so much for having us!

Stayed for a week in the beginning of February. Just a short taxi ride from Myoko Kogen train station the lodge is situated close to the ski areas and restaurants and bars. The owners, Kimi and Miyu, do their best to make you feel at home. And since the guest house actually is their home it feels a lot like being welcomed into their house and not staying at a hostel. They are so helpful with everything from discounted lift tickets, where to find the best sushi or showing you the best powder stashes. Traveling solo, Japow House was definitely exactly what I was looking for. The big common area, with fully equipped bar and big screen TV, was packed every night with people from all over the world. And Kimi was always ready behind the bar to educate you on the local beer and sake. I can not recommend this place enough! The only tiny downsides were the cold mornings in the dorms downstairs (the heater turns off automatically during the night) and the uphill walk to the ski area but the hospitality of Kimi, Miyu and their 2 kids easily make up for this. Leaving after a week felt like saying goodbye to old friends.

Amazing place to stay. Kimi has the local mountain knowledge and will share the ins and outs of the town. Seriously amazing Host's. Terrific lodging in Myoko Kogen, Akakura Onsen. You can easily walkthrough to the mountain. Don't pass up this great place.

This is such a wonderful place! A small cosy place, 5min walk from the ski resort. Lovely views of the sunrise to wake up to! Kimmy and Miyu are such incredible hosts. They are both so welcomming, smiley people. They will tell you the best places to eat (make sure you know which style you want), the best places to get fresh snow, and even maybe a lift to the bus stop because your bags are too heavy. Thank you Kimmy and Miyu for having us stay. It was perfect for us!
