Great food. Helpful staff.
I am tempted to not leave a review because this place is so special and I would love to keep it all to myself. However, the world deserves the opportunity to experience the delight and magic that is the Takao Kanko Hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon and to be honest I can not think of anything that could be improved upon regarding staff, location, accommodations, etc. We loved staying outside of the hubbub of Kyoto and preferred the nearby shrines to the busy touristy ones in Kyoto. Each morning the hotel provided a shuttle into town which was helpful and in the evening we easily navigated our way back to the hotel with a bus that allowed us to use our JR pass. Also, we really enjoyed the food, staff explained the food to us and all of our eating experiences were very enjoyable. Finally, the staff is nothing short of amazing. They were all very sweet and accommodating. It was so nice to feel at home during a two week stay in a foreign country. I can only hope to be blessed with the opportunity to visit this hotel again!
