My favourite Podere in the world! You are surrounded by super nice staff in a landscape that makes you speechless. The food is delicious, the rooms are spacious and equipped with typical Tuscan furniture and the tourists you meet there are all nice and interesting people — some of them become friends, and you see them again next year!

Absolutely lovely, relaxed setting. Stunning views. The staff couldn't be more accomadating, warm and friendly. Food is fresh, farm to table. Rooms clean and they will even do your laundry for a small fee. Loved our stay and looking forward to planning our next visit.

We had an incredible experience here. The scenery is beautiful — we caught a dramatic Tuscan sunset. The food was also amazing, all produced from the farm itself. You really live off the land here. The hosts are friendly and very accommodating, and clearly proud of their work!

Former farm, tastefully restored, very quiet and beautifully situated, excellent food and cordial hospitality.

What a fabulous 6 days of pure, loving farm to table cooking! Joyful greetings each morning with the best coffee you'll ever drink. 20 plus different varieties on pizza night, topped off with a fab dessert pizza. You won't get that taste in the States! Add in comfortable accommodations, the rooster as an alarm clock and amazing sunsets and you have yourself an authentic Tuscan holiday. Enjoy!

Excellent cuisine also a bit ' sought after in the pleasant tranquility of the countryside in which it is immersed.
In the beautiful season then is a show eating outdoors with the typical landscape of the Val d'orcia.

What can I say?! This place is amazing! This is a true farm stay place. Beautiful rooms, great spaces, surrounded by chickens, cows, bee hives, pigs, and Ito the cat! The included breakfast is amazing — fresh breads, eggs, fresh fruit… so good! But dinner is unbelievable. Alessandro, one of the owners, is also a chef. Four courses each night that blew our minds. It was so much fun. We rented a car and spent each day visiting so many small and medium sized Tuscany towns, centrally located. The staff is so nice. But truly Alessandro is such a special person. He makes ever guest feel like Italian family. We miss it so much already.

Even if it's been a while … But a dream location in a dreamscape with superior food.

Divine Place and divine eating.

The absolute best. Everything you could want in Tuscany. Beautiful grounds with a full working farm to supply the kitchen. Lovely, comfortable and clean accommodations. Easy access to Pienza and Montepulciano. And above all a superior staff. Alessandro is knowledgeable, kind, enthusiastic, accommodating and a joy to be around. His staff is the same. The food is superb and would satisfy the most finicky foodie. A gem of an agriturismo.

Amazing food and service. Limited Wi-Fi but who needs it? Only downside was the advertised horseback riding is nowhere near the property.

Top notch customer service from the crew here, with very good English spoken. Stunning views during aperitivo and breakfast/dinner outdoors, with good food. Decent location for seeing the Val d'Orcia.

I can't say enough great things about this place. We came here last year and returned again this year. The staff treats you like family. The food is farm fresh and very delicious. Our room is wonderful. Book your trip now this place will not disappoint you!

We had 2 beautiful nights there. Hosts are really helpful and provided us very good advise. Group dinners were in a family mood with great food, and breakfast is great.

Best place on earth stayed here June 2015

We spent 4 days enchanting in Podere Spedalone family! The warm hospitality of Alessandro, the bucolic beauty of the site and the quality of the kitchen were all factors in the success of our stay.

Very friendly atmosphere, warm welcome by Alexander, innkeeper masterful, and his wonderful staff. All beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable, with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside. Tranquility and silence, Turkish bath, jacuzzi and massages will forget stress, anxiety and whatnot. You eat superbly, value extremely beneficial. A holiday at spedalone is recommendable, you will live an unforgettable experience. Thanks Alexander off, as soon as possible, definitely, maybe for several days. Peter and Sarah.

A charming place, surrounded by nature, a renovated maintaining the flavor of yesteryear but with all mod cons, a family atmosphere, the owner, in addition to the friendly, is also a chef cook, I mean simo had a great time, I recommend everyone a stayat this enchanted place.

A truly fascinating place, outside the conventional routes, but very close to places of artistic interest such as Pienza, the accommodating staff, kitchen with simplicity with fresh vegetables, the host always available. Outside the window of the room a breathtaking made of rolling hills, in short, a magical atmosphere. I recommend it to everyone.

My wife and I spent three wonderful days at Podere Spedalone in October of 2013. The rooms and accommodations are top notch. Podere Spedalone was nicest of any place we stayed in Italy and we did not skimp in other locatios, and we also chose one of the more inexpensive rooms. The setting and location is serene. The food is great, the wine is delicious, and the host (Alessando) and his staff are wonderful. Incidentally, they have worked at or operated some of the best restaurants in Tuscany. They are funny, and are great cooks! Unassuming and not in your face, but provide wonderful family meals. We plan to visit again and cannot say enough good things. The location near Pieza (which is a wonderful, wonderful city) was perfect. We only wish that we had spent slightly less time in Florence and more in Tuscany at Podere Spedalone.

My wife and I went to Italy for our honeymoon in June 2011. We stayed at three places: Podere Spedalone, a hotel in Bologna, and very expensive hotel in Tuscany. Podere Spedalone was by far our favorite. It was exactly what we were looking for. The accommodation itself is a very, very old but lovingly restored old estate. The furnishings are very simple, but comfortable. I suppose words I could to describe it are rustic elegance. The views from our bedroom (which was quite large) were out of a painting. Rolling hills with green grass, olive grove, etc. Truly beautiful. Our favorite part was the family style dinners at night. They began around 7PM, and we enjoyed a multi-course meal with all of the other guests, who were all extremely friendly and cosmopolitan. Guests from England, Italy, San Franscisco, etc. It was really a great crowd. The food was fantastic, and sometimes dinner would go to 1130. Giancarlo was very gracious with his wine choices and locally made digestifs. Podere Spedalone is a bit off the beaten path, which is perfect. Perhaps our only issue was that we did not have good directions to get there from Florence. However, this was our travel agent's fault, not the fault of the staff at Podere Spedalone. In fact, we called Giancarlo from a payphone about 10 minutes away in Piensa, and he came to meet us and we followed him back. So, make sure you have good directions! But, if you get lost, you will still find your way.

The surrounding area is very beautiful, the farm is nice but not exceptional, definitely not worth what it costs.
