In our two week trip and five hotels, this was the best hotel in which we stayed. The staff is helpful and welcoming, and the hotel is beautifully decorated. We had a fantastic breakfast every morning with international choices that made breakfast interesting and tasty. We had a café in the evening in the bar where we listened to a great pianist. I definitely recommend this hotel. It is pricey, but worth it.

Some of the staff was very friendly, some were not. They do not provide their "Heavenly Bed". They literally stuck two twin mattresses together and put a sheet on them. There were bugs in the room. No balcony as I was promised. Decent view. They offered a whopping 5000 Starpoints for my inconvenience. It has the Westin name but not the Westin feel. So many better less expensive options.

Great hotel, location, mattress and pillows… some staff (security) are crazy — they chased down my innocent guest and made her give a passport to come to my room!

This is one of the best SPG properties I’ve stayed in for the points! The Westin Excelsior is a historical building next to the Arno River. The rooms are luxurious and fully remodeled, yet maintains the classical style. Our room had a great view of the river and beyond. We particularly enjoyed cocktails and wine at the rooftop bar at night after the sun went down. What a spectacular view of the city in a relaxing atmosphere! Every staff member took pride in their work. Grazie to Contanza and Jesus at the front desk, Roberto and Filipo at the rooftop bar, and Rimini at the belldesk. They made our stay extra memorable. We will be back!

An amazing stay. The well furnished and maintained rooms were inviting and comfortable. The bed was lovely and the linen fresh and crisp. The bathroom and the toilet was impeccable.
The staff were attentive, courteous and helpful.
The quality of food and drink at the restaurant and at the bar was of a high standard too.
Located in a most central location in Florence, the Westin is a wonderful place to relax and unwind after even a longish spell of visiting the museums and art collections of Florence.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Westin as a wonderful place to stay in Florence.

The location is amazing and the hotel is great. We went there especially for the rooftop bar that has one of the best views I’ve ever seen. On the flip side, the staff was quite unhelpful and unfriendly, (they automatically say no to anything you ask and you either have to tip them or insist or both to get things done) they initially made us wait outside when the place was empty. We then had to insist to have a bigger table when we had asked for it. We then had to tip them to find an iPhone charger which initially they said no to and then found. When we came to pay (a quite hefty) bill, they did not agree to split it and we had to speak to the manager who agreed to do it. Bad experience.

Great location, a short walking distance to all of the major sights of the city. The concierge has was very helpful at helping us find our way. They actually contacted us a week ahead to help us plan the stay. The entire staff was attentive and commited to ensure the experience is the best possible. Our room overlooked the river and was enormous.

What an incredible experience. I have stayed at a number of Weston's and this one might be my favorite. The staff was amazing and the concierge was first class. Everything they recommended from the Firenze card to the shops to the restaurants were incredible. The location cannot be beat. Just a few blocks from every main attraction allows you to really experience the city and walk around. Also the rooms are nice and spacious. Amazing stay!

We stopped here to try the roof top bar and it did not disappoint. Superb views very polite and friendly staff. A real oasis away from the frenetic crowds. Have been trying to recreate the superfood Giotto cocktail since I returned home but cannot find cucumber syrup anywhere… I'll just have to go back for another.

My stay at the hotel was short. I attended as barman at a company dinner of a famous winery on the roof of the hotel. Breathtaking view from which to be able to see Florence in all its splendour! Also the staff were friendly, helpful and sympathetic, not very easy to find in hotels of that level.

A must visit in Florence. The view from the roof top is wonderful at night and one could really feel the vibe of a Tuscan holiday. Go there in the evening to watch the sunset over the river. The food isn't great but for 21 euros, you can get unlimited food and a drink. It's worth the experience. It's usually crowded but the wait isn't too bad and unfortunately you can't book so ideally, it's a bit of luck. The hotel is lovely too overlooking the river and right in the centre.

A very beautiful place… Chic Restaurant… It is expensive, but it is worth it…

We stayed three nights at the Westin Excelsior and Florence. Our room on the 4th floor with a view of the Arno was very nice, clean and well maintained. The welcome was a chilled bottle of prosecco and a large bowl of lovingly arranged strawberries. Every day there was a bottle of mineral water for each guest to take with him for his excursions. The staff was nice and friendly, the food delicious. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly.
The location of the hotel is wonderfully suitable to reach the sights on foot. The staff is helpful and happy to provide information.
The big minus in this hotel was the bathroom. It was clean, but an old bathtub with shower curtain is no longer available in this category of hotel today. Much worse, however, were the antediluvian installations, which made it impossible to shower relaxed. The water temperature was barely regulated, either there was hot or cold water, a sensible mixture was almost impossible. In addition, the adjustment to the hand shower was very difficult and cumbersome, and suddenly the water came out of the – after all – a shower head. The reason for this was probably a very fluctuating water pressure. Too bad, so the day started anything but relaxed.

The perfect location to enjoy a beautiful view of the city, and to be pampered by the delicacies of the chef. Every detail is cared for carefully and researched. The elegant and soft atmosphere becomes the perfect background to celebrate special occasions.

Lovely place between history and luxury really high class place lovely with an amazing comfort as far as all the comfort of the breakfast room really enviable but especially the kindness and friendliness of all the staff that got us Assisted during our stay it was really over the top a place to come back without a doubt.

The property also has a rooftop bar that offers a beautiful view of Florence. The staff was all extremely friendly during our visit and made sure that all our needs were met. The front desk employees were very pleasant and great to talk to. Overall, this property is a gem within the bustling city that offers a plethora of services and an elegant vacation within Florence.

What a wonderful tour! The Westin Excelsior is nothing short of exceptional. Rooms with beautiful views of the city of Florence with luxurious accommodations and an extremely friendly staff. I hope I one day have the opportunity to stay at this fine establishment. Not only are the rooms great but you MUST check out the rooftop for food and drinks!

The Westin is a beautiful hotel full of artwork. Everything from the paintings, stairwells, furniture & decor is nothing less than amazing. The staff is very friendly and are willing to make your stay a wonderful one. The bar on the hotel is absolutely stunning and the view is breathe taking. The venue they have available for private functions would be perfect for a destination wedding. Overall amazing!

I went on a tour of this hotel today with my class. This hotel is one of the most beautiful I have seen. It has gorgeous paintings and pieces throughout the hotel that makes it seem like its own museum. The suites are incredible, the biggest have their own terrace with huge comfortable chairs and a hot tub. The views from these suites are absolutely amazing. The top floor has event space, a bar, and a terrace. The event space looks perfect for weddings, with the view being spectacular. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend and I hope to stay here myself one day!

Great place and perfectly catered for.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever been to. The High ceilings and size of the room, the elegant yet modern bathroom, and the quality of the furnishings make it clear why this is one of the top 500 hotels in the world. As with any Westin the service and staff were excellent. The hotel restaurant needs better management and staff but that doesn't detract from the hotel itself as the location leaves little to be desired.

Absolutely central location to all the sights, which can be accessed by walk. Getting to the hotel from the train station is a breeze, with high speed trains to other parts of Italy/Europe, so convenience factor pretty high up. Situated right across the river Arno, which makes for an ultra cool vibe. Westin beds, conceirge service etc are already known. What stood out was the outstanding breakfast spread, easily the healthiest and widest offering (50+ dishes). This one thing is enough to head back.

Very nice hotel in Piazza Ognissanti in Florence. It is beautifully framed in the beautiful historic city of Florence. The hall is majestic. The rooms are large, luxurious, very rich. Marble everywhere. Luxury Service. Very neat Restaurant and impeccable cuisine. Staff very friendly and in the image of a 5 star. To recommend.

Superb hotel and Restaurant delicious.

I have stayed here many times. My love never fades for Florence. The location of this hotel is perfect for accessing the city, renting cars and getting around. It is quiet and there are some great restaurants in quick walking distance.

Presentation of "The Dream of the Spider" at the WESTIN EXCELSIOR
On 28/09/2017 There was the inaugural presentation of the novel alternate The Dream of the spider of Carlo Menzinger of Preussenthal in the evocative setting of the hall of the frescoes of the Westin Excelsior, on the splendid Lungarno Fiorentino, in Piazza All Saints.
You arrive at the Westin Excelsior from the Lungarno, finding well lit in the wide square on the river. Inside, the entrance to the hotel looks glitzy and sparkling with lights.
The room of the frescoes in which the presentation was held is spacious, with very high ceilings. At the beginning were prepared about fifty elegant and padded chairs, which during the evening were readily doubled by the hotel staff, at the request of the organizers. The large hall was, in fact, crowded with audiences, which lingered from 19, 30, although it should begin at 20, 30, until late evening to listen to the presentation of the new editorials of Porto Seguro, including the first volume of the saga of VIA DA SPARTA, which narrates the adventures of two young girls in a current world, but alternate and perhaps dystopian, in which Sparta still exists and is an empire that controls much of the world, imposing rules and customs very different from those to which we are accustomed.
In the corner of the room was set up a counter for aperitifs. I took a glass of Ace with ice, good and plentiful, priced at €8.

I've been traveling with my wife for 20 days throughout Europe… Portugal, Spain, Nice and in Italy Rome, Florence and Venice… all 5-star Hotels. In Venice… the Westin is a HUGE rip-off. They charged 100 Euros for 2-double screw drivers… $9.00 for bottled water. We shared a salad my wife had pasta and I had fried calamari for $247.00. In that included a cover charge of $24.00… they charge their guests to eat at their restaurant. I am extremely disappointed. We've also stayed at many, many Westin's around the world and I will never frequent another one again. do not stay here!

Amazing place and a great view of the city. Drinks were very good, only had appetizers. Prices were very high and it was incredibly windy.

Service was great. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious. Great variety.

Wow! This is the more appropriate word to describe this hotel. The room was amazing and very well furnished. The breakfast had everything you could dream if and even more. The level of service and the kindness of the staff is above everything I have ever experienced. Finally, the aperitivo at the rooftop was wonderful and the view over Florence was breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel to all and hope to be able to go again soon. Thank you for this amazing stay!

The lobby is wonderful. We're in the restaurant, the view is unparalleled. The menu was great, the price adjusted to the courses and to the place. Very nice staff.

We had a wonderful experience here. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was helpful. I highly recommend having breakfast in the hotel restaurant and a cocktail at the rooftop bar (fantastic view of Florence).

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. It is conveniently located to all the sites in Florence. We had drinks and watched the sunset from the roof top bar on evening and would recommend doing that. The doorman Danielle is extremely helpful and made sure our stay was perfect.

My wife and her girlfriend walked onto the patio for a picture and inadvertently walked by a private party. Honest mistake. A Westin employee immediately came over and told them on the situation. They apologized profusely and walked away when the employee called them "stupid Americans". What a fantastic representative of the hotel. I wouldn't step into a Westin hotel if I had a bathroom emergency and it had the only operating toilet. The attitude of this guy was beyond horrible and to behave like a spoiled 15 year old bully was ridiculous.

So beautiful and in a great location! The hotel staff has been lovely and the breakfast is very good! My only complaint is the music from the restaurant upstairs is really loud at night.

Excellent service. My luggage went missing for 3 days and the staff did their best to track it down and provide some essentials in the meantime. Super comfortable beds. Beautiful collection of art work. Walking distance to all the di sights.

This hotel is beautiful, and conviniently located very near most of the main tourist attractions in Florence. Service is great — as can be expected from a 5 star hotel; the staff is always willing to assist with any problems, concerns, or questions you may have. The premium deluxe room with a view of the river is phenomenal! The room is huge by European hotel standards, well equipped, and comfortable in its bedding and seating. Excellent views of the Ponte Beccio and the other side of Florence can be seen from either of the two balconies. The shower has adequate pressure and warmth or coolness to one's desire, and the bathroom is visually appealing and kept very clean. My only concern with the hotel is that there is no coffee maker in the rooms, but this does not detract significantly from the amazing experience I have had here at The Excelsior.

Had cocktails in their lobby lounge one evening. Gorgeous ambiance and my mojito was delicious!

The view was nice, but everything else did not. Bathroom was vary old with the mold on the window. Maid service didn't clean well: very dusty; sometimes towels were so old that would leave lint all over the body after use; would not leave extra toilet paper when the one in use was close to be out. The hotel has various extra charges they don't tell you in advance to your bank account every day.

Very pleasant and welcoming! Extremely comfortable bed and comfortable. Along the Arno, stunning view from my balcony, great pictures. Staff very professional and Nice, naturally! Is not included in the connection, Wi-Fi that I, in my farm, I offer for free.! It is definitely a point less.

Extremely helpful, attentive and friendly staff made this stay a delight. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The location is very convenient for getting into central Florence which is a very walkable city. Several car rental services are available within a couple of minutes walk if you want to explore the region. Visit the bar on the roof for a great view of the sights. Would happily stay again.

I have been here for dinner and everything was excellent: service, food quality and kindness of pesonnel. The lounge bar at the top floor is something really amazing. You can see all city around you, sit outside and let this by-night show delight you.
