Beautiful building with inside furniture, sculptures and paintings of the time. Classical music in the background in the hall and Renaissance atmosphere. Unfortunately there is the problem of parking and so better to get there by taxi also because it is in ZTL. Then walk from there you move fine. There are also two good restaurants next door. I was the only Italian, all international tourists of considerable cultural weight.

The room and the bathroom, also needing some work, were clean!
To report the lack of professionalism and above all the "lightness" with which the staff has managed our reservation.
I booked a 4 person room for one night.
A person from our own country, who was supposed to come to Florence the same weekend, phoned the hotel asking him if they still had rooms available.
The hotel communicated that the rooms were all full.
The person in our country asked for confirmation if we were in that hotel, asking for a chance to add a bed to the room.
The staff of the hotel confirmed our presence and above all the possibility of adding a fifth bed.
This whole situation was carried out without the staff of the hotel informing the 100% of who was the person behind that phone call and above all warned and asked me to confirm that I was the owner of the room.
We only learned about the situation when the person in our country communicated it to us.

In the room 11 bidet is in the shower stall… Super!

A find! Just do not get scared by the entrance — it is an old Florence palace. The hotel (or pension as it is sometimes described) is really nice, clean, and can boast a very friendly staff. Really nice breakfast, too. Also, the rooms which look on the park are really quiet, which is rare in Florence. The bathrooms might need some work, and my shower was a bit bizarre. Overall ok, though. TIP: they do not have fly nets on the windows. So, make sure you do not open them but use the air conditioning — I stupidly did not think you could get mosquitoes in this period in Florence… alas.

Nice hotel. Located 20 minutes walk from the train station, 12 minutes to the Duomo, opposite the gardens of Boboli. Close to shops and cafes. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff is polite. From the minuses-a small bathroom without a shower cabin. Lake built into the wall. In general, good value for money with small cons. Recommend.

Charming Hotel ("pension") with a very nice history. To visit Florence located in another time. Each corner has a detail that arouses the possibility of a story. Very spacious and comfortable room. The hotel staff was very friendly.
The location can be reached on foot to the emblematic places of Florence (the Ponte Vecchio is located about 500mts).
A single drawback: there is no lift, which complicates a bit to raise the suitcases if they are somewhat heavy.

Not satisfactory, very nasty inside, continental breakfast not satisfactory, continuous creaking at night but friendly and helpful staff. I would never go back.

Charming hotel housed in an old former mansion. It's not luxurious, and the house (like most Italian houses) is a little run down, but the staff are lovely, and the atmosphere is amazing. It feels quite a lot like it still is a hotel from 1919.

Nice place but no lift service.

It's great for a comfortable and central place to stay. We didn't get a room with a balcony which would have improved our stay. The breakfast is basic and simple but with so much lovely food to be eaten elsewhere give it a miss and eat out. Service is low key but helpful if needed.

I'm not sure I understand why people give 5 stars to this hotel. I'll give 3 because of the staff and that's it. We reserved on line, got a mini room with mini bathroom (don't bother looking for it on internet, it is not to be found! ). The ceiling was (and still is obviously) 3 meters high but who cares when you have no space on the floor level? Then when we turned in, I had the sensation that the sheets were made of harsh unrefined linen. No insects though like another reviewer, except for the usual mosquitoes. The following day, we ask for another room and though the room we were shown was still in the XIX century kind of style, it made even clearer that the first one was definitely a broom cabinet. Breakfast? Coming from Munich two weeks before, THIS could not be called breakfast. Forget the roses from the pictures, forget the lovely orange color from the orange juice jar, nothing was enticing, the butter was from a brand I've never heard of and… and there was no real italian coffee but just watery american coffee from a big black pumping device. Luckily enough we asked for capuccino and the nice breakfast lady could make one. Go figure why she could not make italian caffè latte as well… The whole place is in dire need of a complete overhaul though it will surely enchanter yankee doodle doo thirst for vintage old buildings…

Historical building opposite boboli gardens. Lots of antiques and amazing location. Just on the edge of the best bit of city. 2 minutes walk to Palazzo pitti and shops and restaurants. As soon as you open front door of hotel your at entrance to Boboli gardens. Not modern but was perfect.

My wife booked this hotel, and when we first arrived I have to say I was a little confused. At first it appears as if it's just someone's apartment block, but go up the marble stairs to the right floor and suddenly you find yourself in perhaps one of the most authentic, cosy, and enchanting little hotels I've ever been in. If you want a true taste of Florence, pick this place over any contemporary hotel.

A nice place in the real center of Florence.

This is a gem of a hotel. My wife, baby and I stayed here for a few days, and we're amazed at how close it was to the centre of Florence — just a few mins walk to Pitti Palace. The hotel itself is based in an old palace which is steeped in almost 500 years of history, with wide entrance halls and beautiful art work. The rooms are reminiscent of a time long past, which adds to the magic of the whole experience. We had a beautiful balcony which overlooked the former palace gardens (now a nursery), and we didn't mind at all having to spend our evenings out there, due to having our 7 month old daughter asleep in bed. We stocked up on wine and nibbles, and enjoyed some beautiful sunsets! The staff at the hotel were absolutely lovely, and couldn't do enough to help us. Rooms were kept really clean — and we loved the fact that staff only came in to clean whenever we went out, so no room maids knocking on your door and disturbing you! The continental breakfast was great too, which also included options such as cereal and toast for us Brits! All in all this was a wonderful experience, and we plan to go back again very soon! :-)

Loved this hotel. My wife and I stayed here in June for a week. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's in a great, quiet location away from downtown but close enough to get anywhere in Florence by a short walk. Don't go expecting chain hotel luxury, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. I read the complaints by other guests about the construction and the stairs and they are totally unfair. Yes they were doing work on the lobby of the building, but it never disturbed us at all while we were there. The workmen were friendly and cleaned up after themselves every day. And the lobby looks great now. Yes there are some stairs. Seriously though, if you can't manage to bring your luggage up a few flights of stairs, you probably packed too much junk. It was also not that difficult to find. If you walk into the lobby, there is a sign pointing up the stairs. There is another sign on the hotel's floor. If you've read the reviews on here, you already know how to find it.

Very good Hotel, convenient location, competent staff and super nice, if I return to Florence definitely choose this hotel again just for the breakfast.

The breakfast was good, and that's about all I can say positively about the hotel. I woke up this morning TO A BED FULL OF ANTS, so if you like sleeping with insects this is the place for you. I checked out after discovering them and cancelled my reservation.
