Super recommendation for Catania! Cool atmosphere in the middle of it, right next to the cathedral in an old palazzo, with a brilliant view from the roof terrace. Come back anyway.

I decided to celebrate my thirtieth birthday on the terrace which for me represents a place of the heart, with a magnificent view of my beloved city, and they all proved super helpful in meeting my needs. Great hostel. Run (during the day) by two brilliant, fun, organised women. Decorated and furnished as befits a hostel in a 17th C palazzo & then thoughtfully — scissors and cotton wool pads in the bathroom; a system for using left-behind products. Generous breakfast, guitar in the common room. My light & USB point didn’t work, and yes, one of the loos needed some maintenance, so don’t be going there for perfection.

Perfect location and gorgeous building, with a terrace. I mean, you're staying in a palace. Staff is helpful, gave me plenty of tips and helped figure out my day trips. Each bed has two usb plugs, night lamp and a huge locker. The place also has a 0km restaurant (it's an Italian thing, meaning that most of the food has to be seasonal and locally grown), that I didn't get the chance to try because of the holidays, but I'd go back just for that. 100% recommended.

A very nice hostel, the staff were helpful and even though we were there only for an aperitif on the rooftop they were very friendly. I recommend it at sunset, you see all Catania from above and offer many things in combination with the drinks.

It is a place with an incredible charm, a palace overlooking the square of the University of Catania with frescoed ceilings.
We did Not stay in the hostel but we frequented the bar which is on the terrace. Breathtaking Views over the city and Mount Etna. The cocktails are prepared with care and The managers are really diaponibili and courteous.

The review is for the bar on the terrace and not for the hostel.
A simple bar for a normal aperitif with prices slightly above average, but ordinary based on the location of the structure. The strong point is certainly the view on Piazza University. A show! Going to sunset makes things even more magical.

The hostel is really cozy, the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, as well as the bathrooms, also the hostel has a beautiful terrace with piano Bar and view on University Square. The breakfast included is rich and satisfying, also there is a guitar made available to those staying to spend some nice time with friends with music in the room or in the common room.

People were friendly and location was perfect. But unfortunately the mattress was too hard.

I had so much fun at that Hostel. I'm staying for eight days. The staff guys gave me their friendship and good vibe from the start. While the staff at the front desk knew to give me all the indications about what I needed. The Hostel is beautiful. I stayed in the bedroom with more beds, a very spacious room with all the amenities. The breakfast was very good. I am very thankful and very happy to have gone through that place.

I went to have a drink on the amazing terrace, you can look at a view of the whole city with the bottom Etna. Wonderful… Good service, the guys are very friendly and gentle and they make very rich cocktails… Super Counseling!

Very nice location, in the old town of Catania. The main room overlooks in Via Etnea. In the terrace you can see Etna and Ionic Sea. Amazing.

Amazing location, helpful staff, really good vibe and clean rooms. The breakfast is very decent for a hostel (includes fruits, yogourt ans cakes), the rooms are really big and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a backpackers hostel. The rooftop terrace is absolutely fabulous, especially during the day when only the hostel guests can go there. The only negative point I have is that the Wi-Fi seemed to only work well in the rooms, not very well in the common areas.

I recommend this hostel for everyone: great location, beautiful rooms, stunning view, helpful and cheerful staff!

We were not guest at the hostel but if you book a table at the rooftop bar you can have a wonderful aperitivo with amazing view on the city and the Etna! Friendly staff not the best finger food but the sunset compensates!

An incredible location; on the Piazza Università! Very nice building with a great view over the city from the roof terrace! Breakfast is included en quite nice! The staff is really helpful too. And all this for less than 20 euros per night. If it's not booked full you have to book here if you're staying in Catania!

A great place to stay in Catania. Excellent location, everything within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff, available 24/7. Also a very nice bar on the rooftop with an amazing view. Overall a great experience!

Hostel is nice, clean, and phenomenally located, right in the center of the city. Very close to the markets, piazzas, and many restaurants. Only 15 min walk from the train station. Was displeased with the reception as my reservation was not correct upon arriving (scheduled to pay 3 nights but was only booked booked a bed for 1 night) and the staff was somewhat hostile about the mistake that was made. Not a great welcoming first impression at 10pm at night after travelling all day. But they did fix the mistake and I was able to stay the full length of my reservation without changing beds. Security was reasonable, although more often than not the various doors into the hostel were open and not locked.

Its a nice place, cheap Abd the atendts is very cool, me piace molto!

A wonderful hostel! Frendly environment, an amazing, with frescoes on the rooftops to lose sleep, authentic cuisine and a terrace. If you are traveling with shoulder backpack this is a top hostel I strongly recommend staying here.

They are excellent, definitely. I felt like a real guest, they were polite and friendly! I arrived with my family, they showed us the room and said "just go there, leave your bags, feel comfortable and you can come here to make the check-in (with the documents and the money). I found it wonderful cause all the other places asked first for our money and passports. They made me remember what the ancient greeks were used to say: "First eat, relax, have a rest and then tell me who you are. " They practice the hospitality in the true sense of the word! In addition, the breakfast included was GREAT, full of fruits, coffee, juice, bread, croissant… it was complete, and included! The restaurant inside the hostel is also delicious and cheap. The bathrooms were all really clean, and with really large rooms! Just to finnish they're really well located. It's perfect! =)

Catania is a very nice city and this hostel is incredibly amazing! the rooms are fascinating and the stuff so friendly.

Sleeping under the frescoes in a 17th century palace: this is the time-travel trip you'll do at this hostel located in the baroque district of Catania and handled by great Sicilians. With vinyl sound in the main dining room and incredible cooks in the kitchen, it is a place for all the senses. Not to be missed.

Hostel in stracentrale position. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Competitive prices. Basically perfect. Inside it has a restaurant, the Rocket from the Kitchen, the chef is very good and for hostel guests there is also a discount!

“Ostello degli Elefanti” is the most central hostel in Catania with great atmosphere and lot of art inside. In this hostel you can sleep in a typical italian building, in a room with frescoes and you will not spent a lot of money. The hostel is very clean and there is a big and comfortable common room. On the top of the building you can enjoy the most beautiful balcony in Catania, with the view of Etna volcano, the main street Etnea and the Cathedral. And the most important thing, in the hostel you will find a really great, friendly and helpful staff and I’m sure that you will come back again as I did.
