I just got back to Rome after spending 6 great days in Carloforte. The island where I go for about 10 years and I love it very much. This year with my husband we wanted to give a truly relaxing holiday, in a hotel. The Galman had a wonderful time, pampered by Connie Mariano, Antonio. The place is very pleasant, relaxing atmosphere at home and you feel like staying with friends. Surrounded by greenery, in the silence but very close to the beautiful beaches of Guidi and Luccaise, has comfortable rooms and very clean. Our balcony looked out over the countryside that slopes down to the sea and the view in the morning gave us peace of mind. Abundant breakfast with fruit, yogurt, cereals, cakes and magnificent fresh croissants, milk, coffee, jam, served with kindness and sympathy. At night, great dinners cooked by Antony who made us appreciate the carloforte cuisine with the freshest ingredients I choose personally in the morning. I shouldn't say that but we also had a taxi driver who has taken exception to the port upon arrival and bring it back to back … I don't know how we would have done without her! We wanted to go on vacation to the island of San Pietro by scooter … we sailed between various sites and read reviews … eventually we chose Galman: and it was a perfect choice.
Perfect the place because it allows you to reach all the beaches and other sites in no time; perfect all the staff why you feel among friends without losing anything in the professionalism, perfect value for money. This translates with smiles and pleasant conversations with owners, rooms and linens always clean and absolutely delicious dinners and served so large sitting area. Connie, talented in the preparation of desserts, presents a menu with four choices for each course that then are always a treat for the eyes and for the palate before then. Antonio is truly a great chef who knows enhance the products of his island mixing creativity and tradition.
We planned one week stay, believe is really just deserves a definite stay longer. Soon Carla and Daniel.

We stayed at the hotel for one night only in one of the basement "cells" paying €70 for B&B. Although this price can seem low the quality is even lower: the room is a dingy cell with bathroom (dirty and with broken shower) we even found cockroaches (thank God the morning after sleeping! ) and we were told by the reception that was unusual but they didn't seem care too much. Breakfast is very cheap "coffee + pastry", only positive is the coffee prepared at the moment by the barista.

The Galman is located a few kilometers from the town of Carloforte, a scenic and quiet location which for me was the right "base camp" for sea days and vacation to St. Peter.
The property has been recently and find it to be reset every time improved. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained with very pleasant balconies in direct contact with nature.
I quite liked the management of Anthony and Connie together with their collaborators: kind and caring but in a jovial and friendly climate.
Fantastic breakfast under the big veranda facing the sea and truly amazing culinary talents of Antonio that serves meals from varied menus and much sought after.
