It's a great staircase. Steep shops on Via Condotti. Stunning views on the road from the Square of Spain to Villa Borghese.

Crazy busy. Only worth going to of you have spare time and you can get in early before the crowds sit all over it. We passed through about 3pm and there were so many people just sitting or laying on it, not only could the steps not be properly appreciated, but we could barely walk up them to get to the top!

Very nice place, relaxed way of life. But beware: 2 scoops of ice cream cost 10, — €!

A lovely place. Too bad it's always crowded. Recommendation: Go well early. I planted there at 7am and it was spectacular to appreciate the empty square and staircase.

A must see in Rome. Crowded with people always, it is worth to climb the stairs and contemplate the views from above. Below is a boat-shaped fountain from which you can drink fresh water. The Whole area is surrounded by luxury shops. Close by is the Spanish Embassy.

The visit is recommended at the beginning of May. Not so hot. Fewer tourists. There's time to stroll. All are friendly.

In itself beautiful but incredibly full of people and incredibly offensive street vendors. There was something of "relaxed atmosphere" in my guide, but not much of that was felt.

Very beautiful tourist spot! It offers a beautiful view of Rome if you walk to the top of the stairs. There's a lot of brand stores all around. It turns out very good and romantic shots. Watch out for your bags and pockets because there are pickpockets around all sorts of thieves. Crowds of Hindus sell cold water in tri-road, panams, hats, sticks for salfi, the choice of huge sunglasses and all sorts of necessary and unnecessary things. The main thing is not to pay attention to them because it is worth looking at them and they will not untie, very tedious and persistent Hindus, irritate even and spoil the buzz … You just have to enjoy and not pay attention to other tourists and these Hindus who climb into the footage photos.

It was a beautiful place. There were plenty of tourists there during the day taking photos and just sitting around. At night, seemed like more of the locals were there. Some were laying on the steps and others, drinking wine enjoying the view. Well positioned in a busy part of the city with much to do.

Must do in Rome. Can not eat on the steps. Fun to take pics with the family standing in different spots and then you try and find yourselves. Lots of shops and restaurants around here. Best place by far for a quick bite is Pastificio just a few blocks away. I wrote a review. Pasta and wine for 4 euros!

Lovely landmark location to base yourself from with all the main designer shops in the area. Lots of police and Army presents acting as a deterrent to keep the streets safe. Was my favourite Piazza.

It is worth to see it by day and by night lit. I had imagined her with flowers and more elegant as in the photo, but there was only people. Beyond the historical value of Rome, its major monuments and others, the dirt of the city disappoints. It takes away the charm. To my taste of course.

One word, Spectacular. The energy there is pure electricity. At the top of the steps there is another church, if you walk to the left when facing the church it will take you to a park where you can have an amazing view of the entire city. At the bottom of the park there is yet another Piazza. Great places to eat around the area of the steps.

The famous steps on the Spanish square often used as fashion cat walk may be a great place to rest after long exhausting walk all around Rome. The place is very romantic and the top of the steps reveals view over the square which is surrounded by shops and restaurants. Not far away is the Villa di medici where various art exhibitions may be seen. Visiting the villa itself is free, but the exhibitions are paid.

The famous Spanish Steps in Rome should have been seen. Run up and down again and sit on the steps for a while in the crowd. But beware: here food is forbidden on the steps. And it is actually patrols and pointed out to the ban, should a tourist somewhere have an ice in his hand.

Tourist magnet around the Barcaccia fountain from the father of the Baroque artist Bernini: Until then there was a boat from the Tiber in the high water in the baroque! To experience the staircase belongs to the Rombesuch! I drew sketches (photo).

Spanish steps. Very popular with tourists. Not entirely sure why. It's very nice but there are far nicest bits if Rome. I suppose the major league shopping area at the bottom is a big part of the attraction.

Piazza di Spagne/The Spanish Steps is a classic in Rome. The 18th century marble staircase consists of several convex and concave bends, at the upper end of which is the Church of Santa Trinità dei Monti. If you are on a shopping tour through the tourist mile you can take a break here. But if you are not interested in shopping, you can safely omit it, as it is not an outstanding architectural masterpiece on its own. She's just "nice".

Full of police and military of the Italian Army. Essential for the safety of tourists and of course the neighbors of Rome. Numerous shops, bars and restaurants in the area. Nice square and very nice and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended to visit. Of forced passage if you go to Rome. In addition with own Metro stop, rare thing in Rome considering that the Metro is very scarce.

Very nice but too many tourists. It's very hard or even impossible to take a picture of the stairs without anyone standing in the way. The sights, starting at the Spanish steps are all within easy walking distance.

Square with a name more than wonderful, special. Mythical square whose staircases have been used in runway mode, for fashion shows of first order.

In my opinion, there is nothing spectacular about this square. It is an oval-shaped square in which there are stairs where tourists sit. It seems that it is forbidden to eat on those stairs, there is usually a policeman there that reminds you, although there is no explicit sign. Other than that, on the perimeter of the square are the most expensive brand shops.

Very nice place with the Spanish Steps. Of course you have to be satisfied with the crowds, but you still manage to stop there for a while and shoot photos. From there you can easily reach the Trevi Fountain. Many expensive shops are found in the side streets. In eight you should just take the roses, bracelet, and scarf sellers. Especially the one with the roses and the bracelets are just to put money on it.
By the way, you can also ride horse-drawn carriages from there.

It is a very nice square, like most of the squares in Italy. It's too crowded, maybe too much. Too many people. In pictures I have seen with the staircase full of flowers, but when I was there were no flowers. There are many luxury shops nearby but there are no terraces or locals to have a drink in the square, it's a shame.

Popular with tourists. Busy any time of day. Pedestrian area with no cars allowed. The Spanish steps have cleaned and refurbished recently. More beautiful than ever. Climb to the top of the stairs and enjoy the view. Sit at one of the restaurants and enjoy a drink or meal.

Of course the number 1 point of contact for Rome tourists and a great place to meet. Lots of luxury shops around. At the square is also a huge MC Donald's also a great fountain where you can fill up your drinking bottles. In summary, you have to say a place where you must have been as a Rome visitor and which is very well reachable by Metro.

Beautiful day and night. A remarkable point of view tainted by a dense crowd and sticky "sellers"… like everywhere in Rome.

Famous square of Rome with the homonymous staircase often used in the past also as a walkway for models and TV sets and movies. In the center one of the famous Roman fountains: the so-called "Barcaccia". It is the heart of the most "in" shopping area of Rome, via Condotti, Via della Frattina but also the streets of antiques and art such as via Margutta or via del Babbuino. There are typical Roman wheelchairs that at a price not very accessible are willing to make you take a sightseeing tour of the center without struggling. It is easily reached by underground going down to the homonymous stop.

Fantastic Square in the center of Rome. Bernini's ' Barcaccia ' completes magnificently the whole. Always present a lot of tourists. Must visit at least once in the early morning or late in the evening. The metro station has the same name. A must see if you go from Rome.

One of the most beautiful and suggestive squares of Rome with the staircase of Trinità dei Monti overlooking the fountain. From there it leaves via Condotti, the shopping street par excellence. Served by metro and many buses. No other words are needed but it is not to be missed if you visit Rome.

A place full of life that mixes tourists and Romans, an interesting fountain and steps… Endless that will lead you to a great view! And not far, the Villa Medici offers guided tours (in several languages) and really deserves to be seen!

Suggestive and unique in the world. An imposing and famous staircase to the whole world is located in the heart of the Eternal City. Always very crowded, it is a few steps from Piazza del Popolo, via Condotti and Fontana di Trevi. Sit on the stairways to rest and enjoy the view is priceless.

Nice setting in a historic and lively area. We ate well and the value for money is excellent.

The square got its name on the Spanish embassy located on it. It represents two unequal triangles. In the northern part of the square are the Spanish Steps and the church of Trinita dei Monti, in front of the staircase is the Barcaccha fountain in the form of a boat by Pietro Bernini.
In the 1620 years the Dutch painter Paulus Bor lived here. In the southern part of the square from 1620 year the Palace of Spain (Ital. Palazzo di Spagna), which stands Colonna Dell'immaklata — "The column of the Immaculate", erected in the year 1854 in honor of the proclamation of dogma of the Immaculate Conception. The area of Spain is the center of the Roman quarter of fashion, the most famous Italian fashion brands are represented on Kondotti Street, which begins at the square.

Waited for 2 hours to get into st Peter's. The weather was fine and we didn't really mind the wait. It was the security checks that held everything up but that is an important safety precaution we didn't mind either. It was worth the wait. The scale of the building was impressive and we also enjoyed the crypt. Just be aware of the people who think they don't need to wait like everyone else. Some facial expressions are universal!

Great all seasons. It's a unique experience to seat here in the scales, here you can find people from around the world. Also people playing music. Singing. It's in Rome.

Really comfortable place, with fountain, Spanish steps and large monument. There are lots of surroundings streets with plenty of good food and shops. A good place to purchase souvenirs, which are just off of the main area. The only negative is the overcrowding of people. In peak hours, expect the Spanish steps to be flooded with tourists. If you want a perfect photo opportunity, I would suggest going in the morning, before 9.

Great food and brilliant atmosphere. Waiters were great and price was fair. Would highly recommend this as a non-touristy evening visit.

A very good place to be able to see "from above" part of Rome.
It is part of the main attractions of the city and in this sector are the best shops in Rome, which include fashion and quality clothing. It is a place that "you must walk the city".

It is also close to the shopping area of Rome. It is a good place to sit down to rest if you already have a good while walking as was our case. Is essential.

Honestly the square is always beautiful but I find it now desonalized by the many shops of famous brands. There is always a police garrison. It is generally clean and well maintained. Pedestrian zone. Chemical baths. No totem for cell phone charge or anything. In the Metro there is a ticket office over the machines. There are elevators and escalators maybe a little too cramped.

One of the most beautiful squares of this wonderful city. A Stone's throw from Via del Corso, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Venezia. In the heart of Rome, in the midst of the most chic and renowned shops. The staircase in bloom, the fountain in the center. To admire and admire in breathless.

I think that this square and all that surrounds it, is all all over the world. The square in my opinion is the main one and the most famous one in Rome. Here is the Bernini's Fountain of Barcaccia, which unfortunately was damaged a few years ago by supporters of a Dutch team playing in Rome. And from Piazza di Spagna there is the famous Trinity dei Monti stairway that leads to the homonymous church, from which you can enjoy a priceless view of the city. The staircase has been recently restored and bleached. It is allowed to sit, but not to bivouate eating and drinking. The Roman shopping streets depart from here. You will find not only clothing stores of Italian and foreign brands, but bars and restaurants where you can eat or even just sit quietly and take a coffee/aperitif break after a tour in this beautiful historic city, capital of Italy.

Very beautiful square, like all the squares of Rome. If you climb the stairs, you can enjoy the view with perspective. Especially beautiful in the dark hours.

Personally I find this place average compared to the remaining architectural wonders of Rome and the fact that it is extremely crowded does not help either. Yet it is an interesting place to visit and all the designer brands are located there. Spend some time walking the nearby streets!

The location of the Roman holiday, the number of people, a lot of big-name shops around here, a good place to shop.

So beautiful to look at and so much beauty surrounds you everywhere you look. From below the stairs you look up and see beautiful old houses and a beautiful big Church. From the top of the stairs looking down you see the beautiful fountain in the shape of a boat and all the shops and old buildings. Walk the streets because there is so much to do and see. Highly recommend.

A must-have place in Rome, here is a place where it is good to live and stroll.
We went in the middle of the afternoon and there were not too many people. A miracle.
A fountain and in front of the famous stairs where everyone sits.
Place with many shops, especially those of luxury.
The place is served by the Metro but I advise you to come on foot to discover the surroundings (if you are not too exhausted)

The food was delicious — I just can't get used to the freshness of their mozzarella cheese. The fish was great. Life was good and I didn't want to leave.

All the houses are presented here. Great place for shopping at the sane prices without a twist. People on weekends to Fig.

Very happy with our experience here! Very friendly and accommodating staff especially Jonathan! Gives travel tips to maximize the time of stay in Rome. The rooms are very cozy and clean! It has amazing rooftop lounge for guests where they serve breakfast. Walking distance to all famous attractions. The bathroom is very clean which is a Big factor for me! Will surely recommend this place to friends and family visiting Rome.

Nice restaurant. But be aware. They include things you did not order and expect you pay for them.

We went early to beat the crowds. The stairs are also worth a visit with the crowds walking up and down. People milling at the top. The bustle of crowds at the bottom.

Very nice plaza, These shops signature until the wee hours of the morning. It's like almost all the beautiful things of Rome, lovely but in locations that are very small. Where to come the aunt is wrong here I can define the aunt bad, I got croissant is that.

Beautiful place to take a picture but good luck as you will fight the crowds to take a photo there. I highly recommend you go there at 6 a. M. In the morning while the steps will be empty and it will be a good mom to take the perfect shot. My wife says 6 a. M. Is a really bad moment to go as it may be dark and she suggest 7:30 but it's your choice what you want to believe.

I am not sure about this place. I was expected something greater and impressive. There are better Piazza to see in Rome before this one. Unless you are there for shopping.

Spanish steps, that's it. Only reason they are called this is because the Spanish Embassy is there. Hardly a tourist hot spot but interesting never the less. Also plaque commemorating English writers. Very busy.

Booked an apartment through bnb, top of Spanish steps. Could not ask for a better location close to everything and within walking distance to all main attractions. Fantastic shopping makes staying at the steps the best place to be. Also great for restaurants and just sitting and people watching.

The staircase I imagined was much larger and we had been there several times at different times… just too crowded every time… unfortunately.

Loved this city break with my girlfriend, prior to our trip I'd heard the city was crowded and bustling… Didn't see any of that, I think the outrageous heatwave (August 2017) kept the a lot of people away. We stayed a stone's throw away at the hotel Mozart, Vivaldi rooms. Great city, my new favourite.

Late in the evening not so crowded and simply worth seeing. There is also a beautiful view from the top of the stairs.
Beware of the sometimes quite intrusive rose sellers!
