Orsa Maggiore Hostel for Women Only Hostel

I have spent about two weeks there and it was amazing. The staff was more than helpful, it is quite and clean and most importantly there's a good Wi-Fi connection.

Very well run, comfortable and clean hostel. Very highly recommended. The restaurant downstairs is amazing. Also located in a beautiful peaceful and pretty part of Rome.

Was a beautiful place to stay in old Rome. They are a non profit organization that helps aspiring female artists and women in need (something to that extent). It is also a women's only hostel, sorry guys. I felt very safe here and It was very clean. Beautiful, delicious cafe with very authentic food in the center of the complex where the hostel is located. During our stay they had nightly performances that were amazing. There is a large garden to roam in, they will wash your clothes for a fee. It was great and two added bonuses were a pair of kitties I met named Stella and Nina that live in the complex. I did rated 5 stars but I have to be honest, the beds are not 5 star comfort and it was hot. But it's a hostel in old Roam, can't have it all. Also during the summer there are those loud performances in the courtyard so bring ear plugs!

I stayed at Orsa Maggiore for 10 nights. I just want to say that this is a place I will bring my daughter and granddaughters in the future! It is also a place I will recommend to all my friends and family who travel to Rome. First of all, I felt at home here. Traveling sola, I felt safe not only at the the hostel but in the Trastevere neighborhood. The great staff here will help you with anything you need. Love love love my time here! I will return. A great place to stay in Rome for female travellers,. The facilities are very clean and the rooms are comfortable. The staff are great really friendly and helpful. It is walking distance to many of the sights of Rome and close to public transport. The neighborhood is charming and safe with plenty of nearby restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay here.

A unique place to stay. Many ages of woman and a kind of meeting place in the courtyard for woman of Rome. Clean. And excellent location to trastevere, st Marc's square, pantheon, the river, bus stops, palazzo navona and compi De fuori.

Very welcoming and in a great location! If you have the time visit the Farenese Villa half a block away. Coffee or tea in the morning and staff is always willing to help and advise.

The price and location are pleasant. Very central and quiet place! Neat hostel with all the available entertainment and shops around! Even the train station is close enough for those who do not want to go to Termini! Recommend!

And a nice place staff cheap and cheap both x tourists and girls Ke want to visit Rome x a couple of days or especially X people like me that I had my son admitted to the baby Jesus and thanks to this place I could bring my mother in law with me without SPE Ndere too. PS is only 700 m from hospital.

Very nice experience meeting other female solo travelers. The vibe of the hostel is laid back and relaxing. Was easy to feel comfortable.

Clean safe staff is extremely friendly and they answer every question they are amazing do not be afraid to travel solo this was my first time and I met so many great friends here I felt safe it was all women trust me you will not regret it also HELLO its cheap and extremely affordable and also in TRASTEVERE thank you guys for making my stay amazing.

I stayed there from the 14th to 19/08/2016 beautiful facilities, was a former convent, super spacious rooms, very good bathrooms, spacious and comfortable kitchen, the ideal location (Trastevere) I am lonely traveler, so it is important that the hostel has good location, the attention of the girls working there excellent, I rest one point because they did not provide breakfast, there was only coffee for the passengers that we being escorted around there, clarified that is a hostel only for women!

I made so many friends here and met like minded, solo female travellers. Great kitchen and spots to hang out. There's no lock for your bag though, and only one key per room. You also have to pay in cash when you arrive. It got a bit cold at night because it was winter and there weren't many blankets. However, it's in a beautiful, safe location and I felt safe and happy while I was here. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Water pressure sucks. Didn't have hot water there first two days.

It used to be a dormitory for nuns, hence the name. Beautiful historical building with big courtyard. Only half of the top floor is used by the hostel, which makes it pretty quiet here. Clean facilities and big common area. Great location, close to Vatican, trendy Trastevere for night life, and Rome city center is right across the bridge. An unique nice experience.

Clean, friendly, cheap, conveniently located; women of all ages (in many hostels I feel ancient). I hadn't stayed here in years and was relieved to see it hasn't changed! Glad that I remembered it, and from now on it'll definitely be my go-to any time I'm in Rome on my own.

I loved staying at Orsa Maggiore and highly recommend it! The women who worked there were so nice and very helpful! They really care about their guests and go above and beyond. There is a nice restaurant attached to it as well. The beds are comfortable and the hostel is well taken care of and clean! I met so many great women who I have kept in touch with. It's in a beautiful medieval neighborhood of Rome called "Trastevere" and I will definitely stay there when I go back to Rome!

I had a lovely stay here! The bathrooms could have been better, but they're not broken — just a bit outdated. Every pretty much keeps to themselves here, but I still managed to have a couple of wonderful conversations. And the place is secure — each guest gets their own (very large) locker for their things during the day.
