As a group simply book tickets in advance via the official homepage for a certain time and exchange the voucher for the right tickets on site (about 30 min before), then you get in relatively quickly. With the ticket you get to the first two floors and can watch everything in peace, a guided tour is not necessary. Of course, there is a lot going on in the summer, you have to expect that everywhere. A must-see on a visit to Rome!

A nice experience to stand in such an old arena. You can walk around a lot to see everything, but the top floor can only be reached with a visit/tour. Another positive point is that admission is free for under-18s, so it no longer costs to take their children with them.

In my opinion, it is enough to look at this monument from the outside. The queue is hundreds of metres long from Easter to mid-September, you can stand in the blazing heat and be offered umbrellas or drinks every minute by Indian and African colleagues until you are finally in after two hours. For me, the disappointment was great. I didn't have to queue, and yet it wasn't a cultural treat. In one minute everything is seen, in another minute everything is photographed and selfies taken. The side from which you look at it doesn't really matter. From the outside, photos are much more imposing and beautiful, especially from the slightly raised street, where you can sit very nicely on the wall and is halfway undisturbed.
