My stay at Hotel Altavilla was just wonderful, breakfast is awesome their coffee is very tasty better than Starbucks, the staff it's just amazing they are very friendly and helpful. If you are planning a trip to Rome think twice before you book a highly expensive hotel, at Hotel Altavilla you will get the service that you need at a most accessible price. It is located at only three minutes walking distance from Roma Terminale.

Nice rooms, very comfortable and nice. Close to Termini station and the city centre. Very good customer service and a nice room for the breakfast.

Traditional building but very well preserved. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Good Wi-Fi. Very good breakfast. Perfect location just next to Termini Station.

Budget hotel so expect to get that kind of facilities. Good breakfast by Simone Romano. Great place to be near the train station Roma Termini. Walking distance to the station. Good breakfast choices if you arrive early for breakfast! They did run out of croissants but was ordered specific ones that we wanted by Simone. Vito and Francesco are just superb. Vito was more cool to speak to and was able to explain the directions and attractions nearby! Thumbs up for Vito! Francesco did check us in smoothly and as expected in Italy, not everyone speaks English! Large bags are charged €2 per bag (as per the notice). We did leave our bags and it was quite a few and was for no charge (yay). We had triple room and was small compared to other hotels we've stayed. Bathroom was little small. Evening times the heater comes on and it is really warm in the room! Room did have a fan but no speed regulator so had one great speed! But overall great experience and definitely would go and stay again!

Do not recommend this hotel! I give this hotel 0/5 stars. Rude staff, piles of dirty laundry bags in the hallway, beds are as hard as a rock, pillows are flat (might as well be sleeping on the floor with no pillows), there were also holes in the comforter. Overhead light stopped working, hair dryer doesn’t work. No hand soap in the bathroom. Absolutely terrible!

Clean, very close to the Metro terminal, buses and trains "Termini" which is your big advantage. Very large triple room with heating and air conditioning. Very austere breakfast. Balance is positive.

I stayed two nights. Room for one, girl and I was not given a second padding in February. Great service and very good breakfast. It makes you 30% discount on your rest for being a customer, both lunch and dinner.

No emergency exits — are permanently closed. Breakfast is poor, for Italian conditions totally bad. From U. No hot water. Conçierge seems awkward — speaks almost only Italian. Cleanliness is mediocre.

This hotel is so small and stiupet.

Great service check in, friendliness at reception is perfect location in logistic terms.

A little old but excellent attention. Super well located next to Termini, from there you can walk to the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and the Vatican. The staff were very helpful.

Very good location, close to the terminal Termini, excellent service, friendly treatment, except for the shower a little uncomfortable, but outside of that everything excellent.

Bad rooms, bad bathrooms, bad infrastructure, bad Internet. And very expensive. Now a list of pros and Cons: Cons:-antique rooms not in artistic style but in infrastructure, some beds creak and the windows do not stop the cold. The insulation of the walls is minimal, you can listen to the adjoining rooms even if they whisper.
-lousy bathrooms, two things can happen, or you get a small bathroom the size of a phone booth or normal size but the shower is 5 millimeters under the ground so it will always come water and flood the room-Internet that decides to work when you want. You can not make a video call and that there is a router for each floor.
-Very expensive price for the aforementioned. The price is basically the location and nothing else, they bought the building in a good location and decided to put a hotel as cheaply as possible and charge too much.
Pros:-Cleanliness is good, service to room cleaning is decent-location. Half an hour from the Colosseum and two blocks from the train station walking. Basically the only thing that justifies the price in conclusion should get another place that is better worth the price, anyway are going to have to use the subway.

I didn't like it at all. Too old. The morning we stayed, we were charged the first night before we arrived and when we arrived finally, we were told they did not have datafono to charge. Having to go to the street-cashier to it and thus pay commissions. The site for saying something good is the situation. But it's very cold, and that was the beginning of November…

Good treatment of workers and rooms in accordance to the price, superb location in the town centre and few minutes from the great roman monuments. The breakfast is great, and only lacks a bit of sausage.

You got what you pay for. Excellent location but needs a lot of refurbishment. Decent customer service.

The hotel is close to the main train station and it is cheap. There are many problems with the hotel that other reviewers talked about. My main issue is that the bathroom is so small that the toilet is in the shower and squeezed, couldn't understand the system. I wouldn't return.

They don't have idea what customer service is. The breakfast is not good, but the lady who works there is very nice. They way they handle your credit card information is absolutely questionable.

Horrible. Believe in love at first sight? Well, as soon as you enter your room then you're going to love wanting to look for somewhere else to stay. What can I say, the beds are uncomfortable, the bathroom would be perfect for someone who's claustrophobic (believe me), the toilet was haunted because for some reason it would not stop flushing by itself — try sleeping when all you hear is a toilet flushing every 10 minutes. The room even provides a tiny television which for me was broken and the socket was messed up (many sockets were broken or hazardous), I would be surprised if it passed health and safety. The only source of air-conditioning that actually worked was a fan on the ceiling, but even then it was better to fan yourself — a sense of accomplishment is what I got from it if you ask me. The breakfast was very disappointing. All you can eat bread. How lovely. Although the woman with glasses who worked there was lovely so shoutout to her for making my morning (s). Staff was terrible but I guess terrible staff makes for a terrible hotel. The only pro to this hotel is its location. Very close to public transportation and to many landmarks. I almost forgot that the hotel has Wi-Fi but lets not say how long it took me just to write this review with this wonderful connection.

The guy in the front desk was rude, the room was old with dirty floors and walls. The Beds were hard and the sheets old and didn't seem clean. The bathroom was a mess (bad repaired) I do not recomend this hotel! Only if you want to have a baaaad experience, when visiting Rome.

Very noisy, breakfast is minimal and not nice. Beds uncomfy. Location is best thing about the hotel.

Clean room (apart from traces of toothpaste in the sink). The bedding is fine. The personal is friendly.
Negative Point, it miss a can of heating, and the fees of "service" has to pay obligatory in cash…
For the price we could not find better.
