Nice little hotel near Santa Maria Maggiore church. Staff was nice, breakfast was very enjoyable, with views on the top floor and a nice selection, and good coffee. I thought the bed was comfortable. The courtyard side rooms were mainly quiet, although you can hear your neighbors talking across the hall. Cute little elevator! It must be said that the internet worked very poorly while I was there. Location is close to termini station, and the metro, walking in to the center of town is fine, but takes 20-30 minutes. Seemed clean, bathrooms small but fine.

I booked this hotel in August 2011 and I was extremely disappointed. I went with my cousin, who is much skinner than me, and he thought the building is too small. I remember that the cleaners came really early in the morning and the vacuum cleaners were really noisy. Worst of all, they had trouble finding my name on the booking but they found my cousin's name, and he is not a Doria. I don't know what has changed in seven years, if anything at all, but this hotel is not worthy of the Doria name. The Doria family was a great Genoese family and they were prominent in Rome too after marrying into the Pamphilj family. If this was called Hotel Julius Caesar or Hotel Totti, it would have been shut down years ago for being an insult to local heroes.

The breakfast was very good: all the cheapest, the simplest, the cheese is of poor quality, the coffee is overcooked. There is no kettle in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With a child there to stay very uncomfortable. The room was clean and the breakfast was good.

Perfect for a few nights alone or maximum in two people. The hotel is clean and staff friendly. The structure is small. The rooms, the bathroom and the breakfast restaurant are very small but not cramped. The lift is really small, you enter two hugging or a person with hand baggage. The breakfast is disappointing, there is a lot of stuff packed and even the croissants seemed packed and heated. From the window you can enjoy a mediocre visit to the church and the boulevard.

The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Spacious and bright double rooms. Small bathroom but enough. Not suitable for people with reduced mobility, as the elevator is tiny and there are stairs to the entrance.

Rooms very small, beds very small, the elevator just goes for a big suitcase, the showers are a joke. To pick up dropped soap, you have to get out of the shower. Breakfast goes like this. The room was very clean. To think of sleep only after midnight. Staff is friendly, location of hotel very central.

Concierge really helpful. Just don't touch the beds if the room is incorrect. Oh, gave us some good tips as well.

The problem is not the hotel, but the disrespect of customers who feel alone in the world!

The place was really nice, close to public transportation, great Wi-Fi, great price, speaking English staff. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Great breakfast. The only small issue is the elevator only goes to top floor and breakfast if roof top so if you are not able to climb 1 flight of steps for breakfast you need to think about it.

Staff are perfect with ignorant, limited Italian speaking guests. Room has everything you require. Small bathroom, gets you clean. Bed is designed for a "solid" night sleep Close to touristy locations. Breakfast buffet is adequate. There is a small lift, so take the stairs to make up for all the delicious Italian food you have eaten! As far as a 3 star hotel is concerned, this one is pretty good.

Service is great, although I just recently arrived in Rome. The elevator is small and the Wi-Fi is not great but it has good breakfast and it's very close to everything I need.

Clean and beautiful middle old hotel.

Stayed there for 4 nights in May-June 2014. Shower room is a bit too small; and so is the elevator. Wi-Fi is okay. Good location. Around 500m from Termini Station. Around 1km from Colosseum. Very warm and helpful staff. Nice breakfast on the roof top. And most of all. The best cappucino in Rome is served during the breakfast.

Hotel Doria was great. great value for the price. great location. very helpful and friendly staff. good breakfast every morning on the rooftop deck. the only thing that was trouble some was the size of the shower. But I guess that's a european thing. when I first arrived at the hotel, Chandra greeted me with "ahhh Mr. Hansen, welcome" I have no idea how he knew who I was, but it was great! then he pulled out like 3 maps and started showing me how to do everything while I was in rome, from taking the bus, train, and subway. I'd stay here again if I go to Rome in the future.

Very reasonable, owners and staff lovely, very helpfull. The room was a little basic but kept clean, fresh linen and towels every day.

Great family run hotel in Central Rome. Excellent location, good rooms and service for the price, and the breakfast on the rooftop terrace was lovely — fresh croissants, good coffee, and cereal if that takes your fancy. If I ever get back to Roma, I'd go there again.

The hotel meets 3-m stars.
Pros: good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pure. There is a hair dryer. Plumbing is not old and works fine. If your room overlooks the yard, you'll get a view of the green flower garden with Mandarin tree and the lack of noise from the road.
Cons: very little. Small room, small bathroom (don't turn around). No breakfast (as in many other similar hotels).
