Review of Hotel Palace Verona 4*

There is nothing that makes this place special. At first impression the lobby is very nice but that is where it ends. It needs some maintenance and a makeover. Be advised that yes you can park for free on the street the underutilized parking garage is 10 euro per day. Parking should be free, period. We stayed 2 nights. The price we were charged (even after a requested discount) is more than any online travel service so I recommend don't deal directly if you decide to stay here. Additionally, breakfast is not included free. They offer the rooms without breakfast and at a greater price with breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good including fruit, meats, cheese, croissants, bread, cereal, eggs, bacon, juices and a few other things but not sure its worth the extra price. I had cereal and the milk was warm and tasted like long conservation milk. Our room was clean and comfortable but the walls had scuffs (and so do the hallways) and the curtains were torn. There is only one convenient power plug on the desk and none on the nightstands. There is an in room refrigerator and a safe but the safe is too small to put much more than a passport and billfold in. My laptop would not fit. The TV is TINY! The toilet seat would not stay up, you have to hold it up when standing at the toilet. When sitting down the seat is made for small people. I'm not a big person but larger than average and the seat was, well, just not a good fit. The cups in the bathroom are very lightweight and would not hold my toothbrush. There is no view but it was quiet. The worse thing is our room was very warm. Even with the air running constantly the room was not cool or comfortable. I do not think this comes close to being 4 stars. I would not stay here again.
