Review of Hotel Marconi 3*

The most disgusting service! A disgrace to Venice. Have never experienced rudeness like it in l my life. Now I have never written a bad review on trip advisor as I've never truly felt the need. And it really bothers me when I see very petty remarks and bad review given to a premise because of very small in adequate complaints. But this I have to make you aware of. Please to not visit or go near this restaurant on the canal on Rialto Bridge. They are push horribly waiters and a disgrace to Venice, Italy and mankind. We were greeted by a bossy waiter who was pushy and issued us to our seats before we decided if we liked the menu. We sat down anyway as our experience of Venice was so lovely we couldn't fault any of it, or anyone so we went with the flow and sat down. My Partner was really in the mood for some pizza but it wasn't immediately evident on the menu… Whilst we were waiting to be served and enquire about pizza, my partner walked up to the boards of the restaurant. Mistakenly he was looking at the board of another restaurant next door / adjoining. And immediately a disgusting little old man of a waiter came over, snapped the menu out of my hand, shouted at me in front of the whole outdoor restaurant area, and told me to leave. I was so shocked and totally confused I was about to order our pizza and a bottle of champagne from them and here I am being totally disrespected in the most crude way. I have travelled across Europe many times and understand sometimes there can be a difference in cultures but this was not that. Absolute disgraceful horrible place. I had been commenting that Italy and Venice had some of the most pleasant, polite and respectful people's I have ever come across whilst travelling, and this horrible creature of a man and his staff have totally tainted this for me and put an entire negative feel to what was set to be one of the most fantastic and pleasant weekends. Do not go to this touristy restaurant. The waiters think they can treat you like this, as they will always be busy due to the popular location at Rialto bridge therefore they don't feel the need to value you as a customer. Let's try to change this!
