The location was perfect, the neighbourhood was quiet at night and had a really nice Every time I tell people I am travelling to Venice I am told that I will never find an affordable hotel! I have told dozens of people about this gem in the heart of the city and now I'm telling you do not miss that place ca 'contarini 3026…

Unprofessional, especially during the period of new year, we did everything in time, they could not proceed with the payment. Not only had they asked for the private credit information whithin email but finally they cancelled the reservation and we payed double elsewhere due to this problem. And surprise! we had a valid card!

I would not recommend this hotel, I booked through budjetplaces 30.11 2015 a stay for the month of April 2016 it is that budjetplaces has taken a deposit until there normal and a few days after the hotel takes the rest on my bank account as normal, just after the stay as the hotel Ca'Contarini charge me again the amount of my stay so far impossible get a refund no one answer my emails nor budjetplaces nor the hotel. Shameful so pay attention to you.

Very friendly, comfortable and clean room. Very good location and easy access for 2 steps from the vaporetto stop. Quiet area. However, breakfast is simple and could be improved.

The owner will not be happy, since whenever anyone writes a bad review he says that person never stayed there… it was a hostel and not even close to a hotel, but the location was fantastic. No bridges to lug luggage over and the San Samuelle stop on the canal was not far from the terminal. Beautiful ride. Close to the San Marco Pallazzo and the Rialto and Academie bridges. The closest palazzo had great restaurants. Lovely area. Now. We couldn't stay in the main building because there were too many steps. Noor, wonderful manager put us in another building. Noor was wonderful, the best part of this place. Room size was great, use to be a one bedroom apartment, but the kitchen was all covered up. So we had a nice eating area. Problem, very dark and dingy. Sheets were bleached clean but torn, top cover wasn't anything you wanted to have on a bed, the window sills were so dirty we couldn't open the window. Since we were on the main level, the garbage that collected in the street made it impossible to want to open a window anyway. School in the palazzo so kids running past early in the morning was also noisey, but the music school gave us concerts daily. Shower stall filled up with water and had someone else's hair floating around my feet. Told Noor, said he would take care, but nothing was done. Not sure who cleans their establishment, but they are getting ripped off. I have read reviews and other loved the place.

This was a very pleasant place to stay while in Venice. The rooms were nice and comfortable and the breakfast was relaxing and typical of any found on my stay in Italy. Service was always friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and would have liked to have stayed longer and explored Venice further. Highly recommend this…

What a wonderful and quiet hotel… What a Nice place, best location, clean and very kind staff. We felt the real Venice atmosphere. Breakfest was served each morning as it was expected. We received kindly answer on any question applied on e mail or throught live communication. Excellent expirience. We warmely reccomend it.

A hostel very bad, the dirt, the worst, a breakfast disgusting since 7 in the morning until 8:30, noisy, old and neglected, the only good thing is the receptionist that has a great sense of humor, otherwise I would not recommend it to anyone, not worth.

Ca' Contarini is one of those places that is often overlooked based on some slightly uninspiring photos and some bad review because the breakfast was nothing to rave about. Trying to find this diamond in the rough is half the fun in my opinion. Its nestled in between tight alleyways away from the heavy traffic of the Grand Canale. But once you do find it however, you are immediately welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff who, after checking you in, take you immediately to your room and give you a quick yet helpful tour of your temporary "home". The rooms themselves are no Italian palaces, however they are roomy, clean, well decorated and quite comfortable. To save some money, we chose to share a bathroom with the adjacent room, and to tell you the truth it was not as bad as we thought it would be. The location of the hotel itself is absoluttely perfect. Its about 5 minutes from all the major sights to see in Venice, and the Water Bus station is just about a minutes walk from the front door. It is also really nice to know that if you get tired of walking and wish to take a brake, Ca' Contarini is close enough for you to stop and take a quick nap. If you are still not sold, you need to remember that you are in Venice to look at… well, Venice. So don't be bothered if you hear that the shower is small, or that your bed sheets are not the right shade of blue that you were hoping for.
