The fairy tale is the one you made me and Nicola live last September 19th. It was all above expectations. Enchanting and refined atmosphere framed by Vesuvius, The roofs of the city and the gulf. Mrs. Tea is an exceptional person who immediately conquered us and followed us throughout, the added value of the location. Sara handled this critical historical moment very well, advising us at her best in every choice with great availability. During the wedding we were taken by the hand and completely relied on Luca who dictated the timing of the evening and made sure everything was perfect. Our guests were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this hotel, the exquisite cuisine and the care of every detail. St. Francis al Monte will remain forever in our hearts. Amazingly Wonderful Convent Hotel with Stunning views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Excellent service from the restaurant staff, very welcoming and friendly, great dinner and breakfast. Totally satisfied with my stay and thanks much to the knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Quirky building which was formerly a monastery — worth taking a look around for unusual decoration. Restaurant has great views over Bay of Naples and the food is excellent. Staff are helpful and friendly. Would recommend as a good base with easy access to local buses and nearby fenicular train right into heart of Naples near to the busy port. Take the ferry to Ischia — 45 mins but beautiful. Pompeii not to be missed either. Great place to stay.

Fantastic views and unique decor throughout. Loved the pool and garden terrace. Very good breakfast and a fine restaurant on site. The immediate neighborhood is a little rough, and it requires a few minutes walking through the narrow streets of a very busy and poor part of Naples to get to the center of town.

Loved this hotel. You are out of the hustle of Naples city center but easily accessible via a short funicular ride away. The roof garden is beautifully landscaped (with a small swimming pool) and you can also enjoy another floor landscaped terrace on another floor. The room was spacious enough, the bathroom had a tub and shower and a beautiful view of Naples and beyond from both. I only missed not having a terrace off my room. The staff were friendly and gracious. For the money, it is well worth it and great to be in such an historic building.

I was here for a wedding reception and it was the most beautiful location I've ever been to! (And I assure you I've seen many of them) I never thought I'd get so excited, but the view of Naples is magnetic and magnificent. The food is outstanding, everything really flawless. Super professional, courteous, precise. From the buffet's display to the stacking of the main courses, I would change absolutely nothing because it went beyond all expectations. Just beautiful. Ten stars, five is not enough. I hope to go back!

Born from the restoration of an ancient monastery, the hotel San Francesco al Monte stands in Naples, on a hill overlooking the historic center of the city, offering a suggestive panorama that extends to the gulf.
With a private bathroom, shower or bathtub, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, minibar and air conditioner, all rooms and suites boast original vaulted ceilings and impressive bay views.
In addition to several conference rooms, The St. Francis at the Monte includes a SPA, two swimming pools and a rooftop terrace. The use of Wi-Fi is free while, for a fee, you can take advantage of the guarded parking and shuttle transport.
The breakfast buffet, included in the living room, is served at the Terrace of Barbanti restaurant, also open at meals and specializing in Mediterranean cuisine. The hotel San Francesco al Monte also houses two longue bars and a wine bar available, by appointment, for tastings.
Castel Sant'Elmo, the Certosa and the Royal Palace are about a 15-minute walk away. Toledo metro station is 650m away.

Great location. Fabulous staff. 10 minute walk down the hill to the centre, or use the funiculare, which is only 5 minutes away. Carry change though, as you have to buy ticket from machine at entrance. Hotel is beautiful. Lovely terrace for breakfast.

I attended a wedding at this property. Very beautiful is ancient. Vast halls and terraces with beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples. Great kitchen with nice specialty bells. Very helpful staff. Prepared and to the height. Very positive judgement.

Very nice hotel with great views over the city and harbour. Great restaurant, terrace and breakfast. Very professional and friendly staff. Room does need some restauration, mainly bathroom and power outlets. For example, there was a minibar but it was not plugged in because there was no power outlet available.

Great hotel But what leaves you in suspense is the view over Naples… A Naples that Opatija of life. Nice but far from the center walk there the road offers beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples. Try to get down because the climb is a bit ' tough.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The Superior room is fabulous, great and the bathroom a marvel. It has a shower, and a hot tub. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is good and on a terrace with a view.

Old convent transformed into a hotel full of charm with the typical corridors, with the doors of the rooms surmounted by frescoes representing holy monks. Breakfast room and restaurant on the fourth floor with a terrace with spectacular views over the rooftops of all of Naples to the port, including Castel dell ' Ovo, and again to Vesuvius. It was a very pleasant hotel. Staff Definitely not a hypertechnological hotel but it is equipped with all the comforts.

The view of Naples is spectacular and the location quite suggestive. The staff is attentive and quick. The food is not really impressive and does not stand out. I had a delightful time nonetheless.

Nice hotel, with superb roof terrace and a great view over the city and the bay. Definitely recommended. Rooms also are nice, not that big as the building is an old monastery — but still more than fine. Superb terrace for breakfast, there hardly is a better way to start the day in Naples. Some minor flaws in service (service itself is fine but maybe not what you would expect in this category). Also position is good — if you don't mind walking a few minutes uphill through the Quartieri spagnoli.

I was only here for a wedding but the setting just got electrocuted. The terrace is really a marvel, with one of the most comprehensive views over the city because almost at 270 degrees. I will update the review when I also try the hotel services.

Stayed here for my niece's wedding in 2016. She had the reception here. Fantastic place to stay. The rooms are nicely appointed. Some of the staff speaks English. Double check your bills because they do make mistake and quite badly. From the terrace on top you can see Vesuvius. Breathtaking views of Naples as well. The monastery still has its charm.

Very loud in the rooms. Every night we stayed, their was a wedding function on till 3AM. We asked to move rooms to a quieter, the staff claimed they were fully booked and couldn't, then with more asking another room was magically available. Their first attempt was a single room for two of us… we refused as there was two of us. We had 3 different rooms during our stay. When we complained they said, we would not accept any other room as it never had a sea view which was nonsense. We only wanted a room we could sleep in without very loud music and plates smashing. We were up early for excursions and the 1 hour sleep we were getting ruined the rest of the day. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. We fell for the website and how good the photo's looked. Thought we would treat ourselves thinking this hotel was genuine. Hope this honest review from experience helps and tourists book somewhere they can enjoy with an open and honest hotel.

On the seventh floor, the view is stunning: there is one of the most beautiful scenery in the world!
When my wife went to breakfast, we purposely lost to drool throughout the ancient monastery and the views of Naples.
Is a very special hotel.

The place is beautiful, but the décor and cleanliness leaves something to be desired; bad even the valet parking fee at an excessive cost given that the day you leave your car is already out at 8:00 in the morning; not to mention the staff, especially the ladies at the hall that was really rude in my opinion, at the beginning we had a problem and he almost laughed; zero professionalism. I wouldn't recommend it and would definitely not.

Particular location and beautiful view but given the level does not seem acceptable that the parking lot is a benefit except at the cost of "only" 25 € per day. Ditto for the Internet and then absolutely don't recommend dinner at the hotel. Very nice breakfast on the terrace and fun getting lost in the crevices of the monastery.
