Villa Coluccia:
We stayed at Donna Bianca from August 12th to 17th.
Long corridors with different tiles for each room, high ceilings where you can still breathe its history.
Chairs everywhere…
Cotton sheets as thick as the ones they used once, dancing in the sun in the morning on the huge terraces that embrace the villa.
Breakfast with homemade jams typical sweets and Figs lying in the sun growing in the wonderful garden.
Donated the owner is an exquisite person, available to make the stay and not only excellent.
Also in one part of the villa there is an exhibition of contemporary art by various artists…
An unforgettable holiday for the colors and scents offered by this land. I recommend it to those who want to completely detach from the chaotic life from which they are absorbed!

Specchia is a beautiful, charming little town and the Donna Bianca B&B/apartments are absolutely PERFECT! Lovely high ceilings, beautifully decorated and perfectly kitted out, the rooms are clean, peaceful, central, and with a most accommodating host, Donato. He couldn't have been more welcoming or thoughtful during our stay. There are several wonderful restaurants in the town (Convento Pinch Pinch, Bettola and Ficarigna to name but three), and beautiful, wide sandy beaches near Torre San Giovanni only a 20 minute drive away. Authentic Puglia at its best. Well worth a visit.

I can't recommend this place enough — it's one of the most fabulous places I've stayed in and the location was fantastic for a variety of day trips and beaches. (We left a book with tips about all our favourite places. ) There are loads of fantastic restaurants in walking distance — the local food is amazing. Donato was very welcoming and although we arrived quite late he was waiting up for us with the key. He was super accommodating and we wanted for nothing throughout our stay there. The apartment is really beautiful, comfortable (great storage, comfy beds and pillows) and everything in it was top quality (air con, dishwasher, cooker). We stayed for ten days and got a change of linen (towels included which is really handy if you're flying there) and the apartment cleaned mid-week. The house itself has a really interesting history and one which the family are clearly very proud of, with reason. We got a tour of the whole house and the bed and breakfast option looks great too. If you're deciding about whether to stay that far south in Puglia, I'd recommend it over the more touristy and abrupt service and experience you'd get in Lecce or Arborobello/Locorotundo further north. The people in Specchia are warm, humorous and welcoming and it's also exceptional value.
