We stayed in their 208 and the room was dark and very old fashioned. There’s nothing wrong with old.
Fashioned design but Aherlow House is lacking charm. It reminds me of a place of isolation… bad monastic perhaps. It was very dark and zero view! No indoor facilities, this place is like screaming go back to your room or cell! We booked for a room with a view and to no avail. So room 208 was like a window with evergreen trees that’s it and not a view of open green space … sunlight only peaking through. Our dinner was good and the Guinness was superb with attentive staff. But again our breakfast was cold and I have to asked for a microwave. When staff pulled a chair for us dirty crumbs all over the chair and floor… the hotel breakfast manager just used her hands to dust it off, I refused and took another chair… one of our juice with a floating insect 🐜 … made us packed our bags and left Tipperary quick! Yes the view of the Galtee in the front was amazing but this hotel capitalised on that view of nature and didn’t carry that comely view from outside to inside and to their back rooms really! It’s beautiful because of the existing nature … but the actual amenities and service was forgettable and poorly! A credit to the beauty of nature! It’s a large canvass to be admired! But you can’t claim it to be yours for posterity and your very poor.

We had a fantastic evening meal, and the staff are professional and friendly, Beautiful location in the Glen of Aherlow, Our sleep was very good, really comfortable beds, And breakfast was delicious, What more could we ask for 🥰, Will be back again sometime.

When we got there the first lodge they put us in wasn't impressed complained and they put us in another one which was better but the price you pay is for the views not the accommodation things need to improve. Taps loose wardrobes dont shut properly, stains on upstairs carpets etc I could go on and on but for that sought of price. Nothing going on in hotel fairly remote need a car staff very helpful but that's what they are paid for all in all short break just glad we wasn't stopping there any longer no Internet in lodges only 4 channels on TV cold and no power in lodges had to put on yourself when you got to your lodge.

On a trip to Glen of Aherlow, we decided to visit Aherlow house hotel to dine. How disappointing to be told that they were not open to the public for evening meals. The bar man (very helpful) explained that due to a wedding at the venue they were under staffed and couldn't offer anything to eat. A hotel without food. Surely not.?

Beautiful setting. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good. Hotel itself needs a little refurbishment at this stage.

It's a great menu. Expensive. The kitchen works with Fri. Sun.

Dropped in for a cappuccino. Requested a small cappuccino which arrived in a teacup, which was fine. After 2 sips I decided not to finish the coffee because of the extremely bitter aftertaste. To make matters worse I was charged a whopping €3.50 for the pleasure! So lets put it this way, I won't be back for a cappuccino. That said, the hotel was looking resplendent with its spectacular display of flowers.

Old world, perhaps just aged. Situated in the heart of the Galtees, so ideal for walkers. It is a wedding hotel primarily so weekends will be busy there.

Amazing views from the hotel and lodges. The lodges are comfortable and spacious. Great bar food, cosy bar also. The breakfast is tasty and quick. Function room was great for the wedding we attended.

Well worth a visit. Its in the most beautiful setting and the staff were lovely.

Dissapointing. Beautiful terrace with gorgeous view closed to customers who required food because of occasionall light showers so had to eat in the bar. Menu also disappointing always the same basic dishes. Some weeks specials are an interesting addition but not this week. Decided phone in future to check specials and terrace situation.

Beautiful hotel set in foothills of Galtee mountains. The scenery is breath taking. Hospitality & food in hotel great. Rooms spacious & v comfortable.

Had dinner, best steak burger and pint of smithwick's I've had in a long time.

We stayed here for ine night. Rooms are dated and require an update but the food was delicious and views are beautiful.

We visited Aherlow for our friends wedding reception. The grounds and buildings are beautiful, the staff were very friendly and looked after everything brilliantly. The food was excellent.

Lovely scenic area. Great for walkers. Not suitable for children though as no amenities for them. Very dark in the bar area.

Great evening meal, breakfast was poor, cold plates buffet ran out of food, hotel needs modernisation.

Warm friendly staff are just one of the delights of this hotel. Views, food and walks make it great. Rooms are clean and if lucky enough to get one on the front of building, you're in Heaven.

Warm, comfortable and great facilities. Lovely views of the Galtee Mountains and Aherlow Valley. We would stay there again.

Absolutely fabulous just doesn't do it justice. Great location, great views, quality just shines through everywhere. Buried in delightful countryside with a range of walks to suit all abilities, the Aherlow House Hotel is an amazing place to stay. We will return as soon as time allows.

I love Aherlow House Hotel… been here a number of times over the last 2 months… Highly recommend the chicken ceasar salad. Be prepared to have a little wait for lunch but I prefer to eat freshly prepared food. The staff are very friendly… you could easily have a full day out here. This place is amazing.

The beds were comfortable and the view was to die for. We had a sick son during our visit and staff went the extra mile to make sure that he had what he needed to feel comfortable.

Great surroundings, very helpful staff and just an all round relaxing place to stay.

Newly refurbished bar and dining area, good bar food at reasonable prices and most of all the marvelous views of the Galtee mountains, well worth a visit.

Spent a weekend with friends recently in the lodges of Aherlow House. They were set among the most spectacular scenery and as we were a golfing group there was great space in the lodges to cater for us. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We had a great time and will be back.

Definitely wouldn't go back for lunch. Had to wait a half an hour to be served even though we were the first in when the Bar opened. Got a dirty glass and fork. For the money you pay, it is a rip off. Portions tiny, got only one slice of brown bread with soup. Still starving after the meal. You would do far better with a takeaway from the Chipper. Only positive was that staff serving were nice. It is a in a nice location, It is a shame that they can't up their game. Get Francis Brennan. First impressions are lasting. Never again!

The staff were friendly, the food good, and most importantly the views absolutely gorgeous. The lodges are the perfect base for wandering the near by country side, they come equipped with full kitchens and cloths washing facilities.

Ok hotel out in the middle of nowhere. But still would be a nice place to stay.

We stayed here on the 26th and 27th of June. When we first arrived we were met by a very friendly lady on the service desk. She gave us our key and guided us to our room. Unfortunately the room only had two beds and because we were a family of four I had to ask for another room. The young lady tried to get us a fold up bed but there was none available. However she moved us to another room that had ajoining rooms with spectacular views of the Galtee mountains. The food and service is exceptional and also the views are breathtaking. I would definately recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

It's lovely great place for weddings I worked there years ago all so friendly rooms are beautiful avg gay burn heard had one of the out houses shhh D.

July 2011 Have just visited Aherlow House Hotel, food excellent, not stayed the night so dont know what the beds are like. All the best to the staff what a sense of humour Stars 4 marie and boyf.

Amazing place for a wedding. Carol, Ferghal and all the staff were so helpful. We could not have picked a better place for an amazing day. Any staff member we came in contact with could not do enough for us. Every guest had nothing but compliments on the hotel and lodges. The food was out of this world with guests being offered more than they could eat. Trust Ferghal on the wine choice cause its worth listenin to him. From the start of the day to the end I cannot compliment the hotel or the staff anymore. If you want the perfect day Aherlow House Hotel is the perfect choice. Thanks again guys. Ashley and John.
