I have just returned from Castletownbere, having spent 5 nights with Denis. If there was an Oscar award for Irish hospitality Denis would clear the board. We were a group of 9, the house is spotless, rooms very spacious and location was excellent. Denis couldn’t do enough for us, advice on walking, BBQ when all the restaurants were not available. The breakfast was great, set you up for the full day. We really had a great break and this B&B is worth making a detour for. Thanks 👍.

Had the most fabulous few days at Island View House. Good value, really comfortable, quiet, very clean, great views, lots of attention to detail and the breakfasts were amazing. The host is really welcoming and helpful and there is a very warm home from home feel about this B&B. Would highly recommend.

A great place to stay to check out the beautiful Beara peninsula. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Great variety and extremely generous portions! Very warm welcome on arrival and helpful. A nice sitting room available with tea and coffee.

I really enjoyed the short time I stayed at Island View House Casletownbere. It`s a heartwarming place where I felt like home! The homemade Brown Bread which we got for breakfast was marvellously delicous and actually we even got the receipe. Thank you very much! I would like to visit this place again!

Do not stay here! We tried calling him to let him know that we were going to be running late. He never answered but we still had a room confirmation and we were already 6 hours into our trip. Show up a little after 10 and call him and this time he answers. Comes to let us in and immediately calls me a liar saying I didn't try to contact him and the my two and four your olds can't stay because he didn't allow kids when my booking told otherwise. Soo yea he stranded us at almost midnight in southeast Ireland.

We stayed here for 4 nights great place spotless superb breakfast proprietor friendly and very helpful.

Polite, clean and good breakfast. Denny and pet Bruno great. The sheets smelled great — hung on the close line. Quiet place. Slept with Windows open. Shower was good and little bottles of shampoo.

Do not stay here. He sold the room I had booked and informed me by text! When I rang to confirm his text he was rude and completely inconsiderate to that fact we were nearly at Castletownbere, on side of the road and with nowhere to stay, this was very upsetting for me. It is clear to understand why this b&b is not board failte Ireland approved as this type of behaviour is completely unacceptable. From my experience I would never recommend this b&b and from reading the comments in the reviews I am not the only one who found this man to be rude and he chaged someone €50 for a late check in! This coupled with him selling my reservation with no warning, if you are planning a trip to Castletownbere make other arrangements.

Cancelled booking when we were almost there. He sold it to someone else, and wasn't the least bit apologetic about it. Would not recommend.

Verry noisy place, owner accused us of playing music at night, we did not, and he banged our door at 8:00 and 9:00. Worst place we had this trip.

Stayed in this lovely B&B while visiting CastletownBere & could not have asked for a better spot! Got a warm welcome on arrival & was shown to my room & all the need to knows of the house! Room was lovely, comfy & warm! Breakfast was 2nd to non great selection & a full Irish breakfast that would keep you going for the day! It’s also a 5min walk to the town! Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Great spot!

Castletownbere is amazing and for an amazing city you need an amazing place to rest and sleep! Island View House is the best place that I saw in all my time in Ireland! Denis is perfect and every little thing is really good! Clean, organised and also beautiful! Thanks Denis.

It's a good location and quite.

Room and ensuite are top notch. Breakfast not included and they're strict on check in times.

Comfy room, I've heard the breakfast is great but I had to leave too early to eat it.
