I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone getting married. I got married on the 1st of October and chose The Glencarn Hotel for our reception. We could honestly not get over just how well the room was set up for us all. Everybody loved the food they are still ranting and raving about how good their day and night was, how amazing the food was and how awesome the staff were. I myself were in contact with Louise, Damien and Conn and I cannot get over just how lovely and accommodating they were. Amazing place and amazing people. Nice to have our reception very close to home too.

Booked table for 2, looking so forward to it. Got menus, ordered steaks to be told no steak left. This was 3.30 in afternoon on a Sunday. Asked what was roast of day, only turkey left. Anyways ordered, and were tucking into our starters. 2 lads came in sat over from us, ordered steak and yes, steak had landed by some miracle into glencarn hotel kitchen. This was roughly bout 4.10. This was very annoying. Whilst finishing each course if one of us finished before the other plates lifted glasses etc. This should not be done till both of us finish each course. I'm sure training is on going, but even a little sense should have kicked in. So settling bill made our feelings known to be told ill inform management. Not exactly a great start to re opening of business.

A group of us watched the Ulster Final here we enjoyed a few drinks and had delicious food with good size portions the waiting staff were welcoming and attentive.

Have be going to the glencarn every Saturday for lunch for the past 2 years after my son's swimming. Today my son spilled some milk and no staff member approached to help clean it up (with plenty of staff around) and as I was walking out door after paying my bill I was abruptly asked in a raised tone had I payed my bill by Barman Padraic… so rude and insulting To treat a regular customer of 2 years in this horrible manner. I will be thinking very hard about coming back to this hotel. I was visually upset and I told the girl at the front desk I have been coming here for 2 years every Saturday and was just asked if I had payed my bill after leaving … atrocious behaviour from Padraic and if I do come back there I will not be dealing with this rude and ill mannered staff member.

We hosted our son's confirmation at the Glencarn and I couldn't recommend the hotel enough. The room was gorgeous, the food was beautiful and the staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, we were made to feel so welcome. Absoutley delighted we choose this hotel for our special occasion.

Just home from a two night stay with the girls, we had a brilliant time… rooms, food, staff all excellent, a special mention to glen, who was extremely helpful and friendly.

It was very cold our room never heated up.
And the pipes in room where noisy all Nite the restaurant was cold and so where the toilets it was a very cold weekend but I expected the heat to be on. The service in restaurant was very slow.

It's a nice place. The ambience is so good. We had a lovely dinner. The food is superb.

We stop here regularly on our Dublin trips and This hotel is just a food heaven… they definitely have an excellent chef. It’s fabulous… and their bar/floor staff are first class… nothing is a bother to them and when your food comes out exactly as you order it… well that’s says it all…

Hotel with good access parking and function rooms. Nice outside open plan for warmer days and families. Carvery service. Music lounge. May have a little wait at the bar can be quite busy.

Me my partner and kids stayed here for a 2day break it was such a lovely hotel the food was amazing… Staff and leisure facilities were great we will def be back!

Stayed here one night and had a great time. Didn't realize they had a leisure center in the basement but as soon as I found out, I went straight there and enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, cold dunk tank and hot tub. Was great! They also had live music outside in the parking lot for the Muchno Mania Festival and the band was fun. Breakfast was delicious the next morning. A few things to note, this is an old hotel so it is a bit worn but gives it that antique look. The room was a bit noisy especially when the band was on but luckily they stopped before I went to bed. You can hear some passing by traffic on the main road. Also, the Wi-Fi worked but only had one or two bars in my room so it was a bit slow. Almost gave it 4 stars cause of these things but none of them really bothered me that much.

Nice hotel, very big and the food is very reasonable. Nice Sunday carver available.

Thank you so much for my stress free day at my wedding on 8th June you's went above and beyond for me and I can't thank you's enough, food was top notch everyone said so, staff were so attentive. And a huge huge thank you to Melissa mone who's been my wedding coordinator for the past 2 years, you really are the best and noting is 2 much hassle you never said no to anything I asked, you are a credit to the glencarn place wouldn't be the same without you, they are very lucky to have you x.

We had a pretty bad experience with this hotel. First of all, the room didn't have a bath and we were with a baby. Then the view, the worst I had ever. Basically, the roof of the building. We also used our dinner credits with our voucher from Groupon. First, we had to wait an hour for a table, then another hour for the food, because they forgot about it. It was really disapponting, especially that they know we are with a baby. Not recommend it all.

I just want to say a massive thank you to the glen carn hotel for an absolutely fantasic day yestersay for my daughter's christening from start to finish it was perfect — the food was outstanding so different, tasty and plenty of it. We enjoyed. It that much we had to get the chef out to thank him the attention to detail was second to none from. The personalised menus to the greeting poster on arrival! The staff were absolutely a credit nothing was a problem the service was first class — I honestly can not. Thank you enough we look forwars to celebrating with you again.

I visited this hotel recently, had a meal which was very good, there was a football match on at the time (it was an FA cup semi final) there are three screens in the bar which were all showing a rugby match. I asked the head barman if I could watch the FA semi final on one of the screens but he said it wasn't possible because they only had one box! So if you ever visit this hotel and want to choose a specific program eg. A football match then you are likely to be disappointed. Avoid.

I attended a christening here a few weeks ago. The food was nice but the service was so slow, the garlic mushroom arrived out on black tray type plates & the soup was served up in massive black bowls ~ very off putting! The mains where served up & it took forever for the veg, pot etc. To follow ~ very stingy sides. The dessert was fine, tea & coffee was eventually served after approx 30 mins of waiting. The lady who waited on our table was really unfriendly & extremely abrupt. The Glen was once a fantastic place, Mr. Patrick Mc Fadden is greatly missed.

Stayed there last night bar food was lovely as was the breakfast. The staff very friendly and helpful. And the rooms very comfortable and warm would definitely go back.

We were very warmly greeted by Rosie the receptionist. Our double room was very clean and warm. The four course meal in the restaurant was excellent. There were three couples in our party and everyone agreed that the staff were so friendly all over the hotel. After dinner we all enjoyed the tribute band to The Bee Gees in the ballroom. The breakfast was so good too. Keep up the good work we'll definitely be back.

This is A lovely place to stop andhave something to eat or stay overnight, very friendly staff.

The main bar area is nice. The entrance and reception could do with an upgrade. The food in the bar was not good. Everything was deep-fried. 2 people got a hot chocolate after dinner that did not taste of any chocolate. €95 not well spent.

Without a doubt the best staff in the world… makes everyone feel special. The owner should be very proud of its staff. Each and everyone of them. From Seamus to Patricia and all too many in between… very proud to say from the food to the rooms was amazing… totally recommend here… amazing from start to finish. Thank you all xxxx.

Good place to stay when travelling. Wouldn't recommend it for during the day food.

Will not be in a hurry back to the Glencarn. We stayed one night and I must say it was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. There was a lot of doors banging well after midnight. There was a row in the bedroom next to ours which woke me up and left me scared. I do appreciate that it was dealt with and things eventually quietened down after an hour or so. The bedroom was very clean but very small. The breakfast was a disaster. We had to ask more than once for cereal bowls and tea and toast. The fry when it eventually arrived was very greasy and disappointing. However, the staff were very welcoming and friendly on our arrival. The meal we had in the bar the evening we arrived was very good and the staff could not have been nicer. We were hoping to recommend this hotel to our golf society for our annual outing but honestly can't.

The Glencarn Hotel Castleblaney is the perfect place to stay to relax. The staff are so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are spotless … the food is gorgeous … the leisure complex is well equiped and with a fabulous pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back … highly recommended.

Stopped at The Glencarn Hotel for a meal. Tried the Bar Food Menu — plenty to choose from at reasonable prices. Service was quick, courteous and efficient. Surroundings and furnishing are very pleasant. Car park in front of hotel. Great food stop on a journey.

Lively atmosphere. Not pretentious. A nice balance of home from home with a warm courteous welcome by staff. Room facilities are standard to acceptable. The advantage of a swimming pool, lively bar, night time music and good home cooking lead to satisfaction quaranteed. Convenient to the main street and major road networks.

We eat here every time I pass here heading north. Really good food at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Chef cooked special order (mini grill) for me which was not on menu any more. Highly recommended.

Great service I was passing through and I thought it a bit dear for 2 takeaway dinners but I had a sneeky cure in the lounge a quick pint of Coors light in noint of my wife.

Fabulous atmosphere the staff are so helpful and extremely friendly could not do enough for me endless cups of tea and nothing was too much trouble. Room comfortable and well supplies with tea/coffee facilities bathroom spotless and loads of towels etc… top shelf of wardrobe was very dusty but apart from that it was great food exceptional served to perfection and a beautiful breakfast. Checkin/checkout so smooth and lovely staff friendly and helpful… can't praise the staff I encountered enough they were exceptional. Thank you all so much can't wait to go back again … HIGHLY RECOMMEND⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a great 2 night stay here. Got a great deal on treatticket so it wasnt expensive at all. They had a folder in the room filled with everything that was close by to do, from horseriding, to nature walks, beauticians, hairdressers, etc etc they thought of everything. We had a issue with the water in our bath but it was of no fault to the hotel, and the staff showed great compasion and helped us sort it straight away. The receptionist with the blonde hair is a credit to your business. Sorry I didnt catch her name. The bar/lounge was extremely spacious and our room which was a family room was really large aswell with plenty of cupboard and drawers for clothes. The food was absolutely gorgeous both in the restaurant & in the bar. Would recommend this place.

Lovely place to eat, and meet with friends. Always have live music on at the weekends and even also mid week. Big fans of Country music travel here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is reasonably priced.

The Glencarn Hotel is a 4 star hotel and has some of the best country acts playing there every weekend. They have a wonderful staff that goes that extra mile to help out. The food is amazing and the Sunday Carvery is out of this world. It is a great place to stay with so much to see and do on it's doorstep.

Friendly efficient service and great food.
