Ross Castle B&B Bed and Breakfast

We had a wonderful stay in the lovely Sabina's Room at Ross Castle. Great location, wonderful host, great food, and I can't remember the last time I've slept so deeply. A chance to stay in a piece of beautiful County Meath history. A must-see and must-stay in Ireland. Don't miss it!

Had a fantastic night at Ross Castle. We were lucky enough to get the fabulous Sabina room (has a lot of steps up a winding staircase but worth every step! ) It has great character and warmth. Beautifully finished, the history can be felt and is so respected. The hostess Jackie and her husband Richard are lovely, very welcoming. Food was gorgeous and we met a lovely group who were also on a mini break and their company made our stay even better, great fun chatting and playing board games! Lovely places locally to go for walks and explore. Didn't see any ghost but maybe next time!

Excellent, we were worried it might not be much like a castle but it turned out to be better than we could have hoped. Amazing views, tall walls, giant main tower and a great room that really lives up to the name.

A beautiful, authentic castle! The tower was the coolest part to stay in but dont stay there if you can't climb stairs. Jackie, the host was very friendly. She was busy with the other guests so we didn't get as much information from her as we would have liked. The castle is for sure haunted we heard crying, talking and the piano even played! Other things happened but it was hard to tell if it was real or just in our heads.

Webare currently staying at this B&B. The accomodations are wonderful and true to the period with furniture and decorations. This is a cozy and inviting castle and the staff is knowledgable and friendly. There are rooms in the tower as well as in the first floor area. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. It may be off the beaten path but that is exactly what we were looking for — — a restful atmosphere.

We had an amazing discovery to find out Ross Castle. If anybody would love to experience as a "Quinn & King night" this is the place to go. We enjoy the peace and the sound of lovely garden. The house is full of history. Real antique furniture, bedrooms, kitchen & library. Loved the "Harry Potter" room. There is a nice walk around the castle and a beautiful lake. We got visited by a fox :). Thank you Vanessa for your hospitality! We will come back for sure!

Ok to stay yet damp. Was not pleased with their review of our tour host after a misunderstanding regarding payment, our late arrival which the proprietor was keep ingormed of throughout the days tour, cleaning the kitchen and left the place spotless.

The castle and grounds are so beautiful and decorated in an eclectic style that is both formal and homey. Our group had rooms on all floors of the tower. Climb the stairs and check out all the rooms! The Harry Potter "secret" room is adorable! Anyone with mobility issues will have to arrange to stay in a ground floor room, as the stairs are tight and winding (um, 500 year-old castle). The area and views are gorgeous. We had full dinner the night of our arrival, seated in high-backed, intricately carved chairs at a table with its own long history. Dinner was excellent! Our host told us a lively history of the place, including a Romeo-and-Juliet tragedy. Breakfasts were the full-Irish kind, with home-baked bread and home-made marmalade. For lighter fare, there was also creamy yogurt and home-made granola. Other than meal times, we had the run of the place, and it was delightful. I'd definitely come back, if another trip of this sort comes along for me.

This is one of my favorite places in the world, and an absolute must-stay when I visit Ireland. Jackie is a consummate host — friendly, accommodating and memorable. The home-cooked food is fabulous. The fox that lives on the property just makes the whole place feel magical. I highly recommend Ross Castle as a way to understand feudal Ireland while sleeping comfortably in a building that was constructed in 1533.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I spent a few days in the beautiful, peaceful countryside in this awesome castle. I was the only guest and that was spooky! The owner at the time who was lovely handed me the key and said enjoy! I used it as a home base to travel to Newgrange and Leap Castle amongst other places.

Fabulous bed and breakfast. Really cool atmosphere and the best breakfast I've had in Ireland. The hostess is extremely hospitable and makes your stay a breeze.

Beautiful castle with the loveliest owners, gorgeous accommodations, fabulous recommendation for dinner at the Crover House Hotel, a hidden diamond in County Meath and we haven't even seen the ghosts.

Everything you would expect from a castle stay. Amazing environment with a wonderful host. Would definitely recommend for anyone and look forward to staying there again myself!

Omg spend the weekend in ross castle for my best friends hen party and what an amazing place to stay rooms are stunning views are amazing and Jackie and the staff were so friendly and helpful we won't for nothing the whole weekend food was amazing… 5 star… thank you so much Jackie for a amazing weekend that I will remember for the rest off my life xx.

Visited in Sept 2016. Probably the most fun of the many great places we visited. Basically given the keys to the place with a dozen strangers and had a blast! Don't think you can do better for a real castle experience either.

This was a great find! Loved that this castle still looks like a castle! The stone walls were still showing, the windows gorgeous. I highly suggest staying here if you get the chance.

Beautiful location. We ordered the dinner and it was incredible. Possibly the best meal of our trip. We had to leave early and would miss the breakfast, but they packed us a to go bag the night before. We were extremely pleased with our visit and would return on our next trip back to Ireland.

Food was amazing. Staff has connection to the castle. Very informative. Gave me and my friends a really nice history lesson on the castle.

I visited this place years ago. Comfortable and restful. The family overseeing the property was great.

Had amazing three says, Weekend. Am under the understanding that is under new ownership since my last visit. We wer well catered for on my 1st trip. Full breakfast, A suited all the fussy eaters, like myself! Some of the stone walled rooms can b little on the cold side so if yur staying up there, bring good jumper to sleep in. One thing I did notice, the bed lilen wasn't freshly washed, infact, smelt reader stuffy. This time I bringing my own pillows & blankets. Other than that small set back from my stay, 3* all day long.

Excellent stay in a castle Once you have seen and listened to other castles you understand why this castle looks like it does and why it is in the wonderful condition it is in also. Ghostly experience was given which increased our stay in happiness. Then to have a breakfast of such quality and freshness was the ending to a fantastic stay. stay enjoy the meal enjoy the ghosts enjoy the history of the tower.
