Having a lazy day in the bar and ‘some’ of the staff are incredibly rude. Busy working parents whos’ day off are hard got. I do not appreciate rudeness!

Service brilliant lovely staff food fabulous very reasonable.

Arrived today after checking in online and booking a table for dinner tonight as I was requested to do bu the email. Was told that the kitchen was closed and I couldn’t have dinner in the hotel. Very very disappointed.

Very good Covid 19 precautions. Super friendly staff. Lovely old building.

I booked the Skeffington for our three year anniversary and I have to say the staff went above and beyond for us, extremely accommodating, exceptionally nice staff, excellent food, cant recommend it enough 5 stars.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. A great location situated in the middle of Eyre Square. I will definitely be staying here again, just loved every minute of it. Thank you so much for the champagne which was a beautiful surprise.

The best place I’ve stayed in my week long trip to Ireland! Great location, clean & comfortable rooms, dank breakfast. I was ill this morning when I woke up & a manager (I think his name might have been Tom? ) came to my room to check me out & ended up calling an ambulance for me. He was so sweet and sat with me the whole time while waiting for the EMT’s, reassuring me I’d be fine. Turns out I was fine, but that’s not a level of hospitality you’d receive in America. Super impressed, absolutely will be staying here next time I visit!

Nice place for a drink but I found the staff to be a bit pushy about wanting you to eat, we were asked 7 times and we were buying drinks all the while. On the plus side it’s atmospheric and the fire is nice though they let it go out sadly on a cold day.

The Skeff is the perfect place to eat drink dance and sleep in Galway.

Skeffington hotel on the 23/08/2018 from the moment we arrived we where welcomed by the friendly receptionist and all the staff, the room was clean and inviting and very roomy, we had gotten married the week prior and found a bottle of bubbly waiting in our room a lovely touch and totally unexpected, the breakfast the next morning was fantastic complements to the chef, I can’t wait to stay again and am already planning a Christmas shopping trip to Galway, I can’t recommend the skeffington arms enough well worth the money considering the location and the other factors I’ve mentioned. Thank you.

Every aspect of this hotel was great. Central location. Friendly staff. Lovely big well-equipped clean rooms with comfortable beds. Very reasonably priced given all of the above. The noise from the bar was not an issue for us as mentioned in some reviews. Maybe because we were on the on the 2nd floor. Would recommend.

Hotel was great during the week. Unfortunately over the weekend a very loud club next door made it impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs. Fine place to stay if you plan to enjoy Galways lively night scene. Not so much if you want to go to sleep before 2am.

We had breakfast here and it was the best breakfast we have had on our whole trip in 7 weeks. The staff were great. Thank you.

We stayed in room 103 at the Skeffington Arms. It was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had to date! The hotel is in a great location and check-in was a pleasant experience. Marie was very friendly and helpful… she even came up to our room to sort out the remote for the air conditioner. The room smelled like a kitchen was exhausting into it and it was in need of a refresh. Dingy carpets and very hard, uncomfortable beds were offputting. The major issue we had was the thumping bass that kept us awake until 2am. We could feel it through the bed and earplugs didn’t help at all! I called the front desk and no one answered! How’s that for customer service!?! We wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel was nicer than we expected. Large clean updated rooms. It is central to Eyre square and the bar strip. The parking is around the block, but an easy walk. Breakfast offered an hot order menu and a small cereal bar, which we enjoyed. Receptionist was friendly and informative. We were pleasantly surprised and would return.

Very charming hotel with its own bar-restaurant right on Eyre Square in the middle of Galway. Supermarkets, pubs, shops etc super easy to reach on foot or by bus within a few minutes (stops a few meters from the hotel). The staff is away from the bank friendly, helpful and super open for advice. (Special thanks to Marie, you were awesome! ) Housekeeping are spacious, very clean and the little news/info in the room are smiling.
Note: The In-house bar is open until 2 a. M. And on the first floor there may be "noise nuisance". However, both the booking (description) As I am advised by the staff at check-in and for all cases there are earplugs included. Who likes it Central, entertaining and easy, is here Wirwirklich lifted!

Decent rooms in a great, central location. Marie at reception was incredibly helpful as we encountered a plumbing issue. Rooms were a bit small and nothing exceptional but in all a very good stay.

Popped in here a late afternoon drink whilst staying in another hotel. The bar area was cozy with an open fire, plenty of seating & staff were very friendly & chatty.
On discovering they had live music on later on, we came back after our dinner. The place was very busy. Music from Ciaran & Alison kicked off at 10pm & they were brilliant. An acoustic pair with great stage presence & good banter between them & the audience.
Their music selection was excellent. They wrapped up at 12pm & the DJ played a great selection of hits until 2am. Our plan was a quiet early night but that all went out the window, haha.

My wife and I did not have an enjoyable experience at this hotel. The beds are rock hard and the rooms are tiny. Wednesday nights are “college night” at the night club located behind Skeffington Arms and the music is really loud. The fire alarms also went off around midnight and continued to go off throughout the night. Most reviews were good so I thought it was a decent hotel but I would not recommend staying here. If you can afford a more expensive hotel I would suggest spending the extra money because this was by far the worst place we stayed at during our trip to Ireland.

We had a great night's stay here. The room was spacious and the beds super comfortable, not to mention the amazing full Irish breakfast (much needed after the previous night) There was a bit of noise from the club downstairs as we had been warned, but it wasn't very loud and we slept just as fine.
The bar was amazing. We spent hours exploring the different nooks, listened to funny and talented duo playing live, and generally had a great time. Every staff member we encountered was fantastic. Would highly recommend this place, we look forward to coming again.

Loved the perfect location to tour area then come home to great Irish pub "The Skeff" plus walking distance to historic area with shopping, bars, restaurants Rooms were modern clean comfortable and services were good. Staff has the perfect Irish hospitality I appreciate.

Lovely room and lovely staff. I could hear a small bit of sound from the bar but it wasn't really a bother for me.

Regular meeting venue. Good for a pint etc. Foods good if you serve yourself. Staff like talking, to each other!

Great staff, but the place is way deprecated and old! Could be much better for the price. The breakfast at the bar is nice though.

The service was outstanding! We checked our bags since we arrived earlier than expected. After touring the city, we came back to check in and the staff already moved our bags to our room and had everything ready to go. We had an issue with the rooms A/C and they moved us to an upgraded room for our troubles for free. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom is a good size. There is a very nice bar / restaurant on the first floor, so it's a nice location for a night cap after touring the cliffs.

Noise is ridiculous, stay anywhere else.

Great place to stay. Was warmly welcomed by Gearoid (sp? ), and patiently tended to by other staff there. The interior room we had on floor two was plenty quiet and well appointed. The shower was great. Their generous breakfast is served in the upper level of the pub, a truly beautiful place to start the day.

Great place to stay. Cozy, contemporary and clean. I wish we would've stayed here longer. Great value.
