Laura's Backpacker 523 Hotel

It's a perfect place to come back when you visit jogja with your friends as backpacker (with minimum budget). Not as comfy as a hotel, but comfort to sleep. The location near malioboro, you can walk for 5-10minutes. You can get breakfast and dinner. The hostel's staff are so friendly. The bathrooms and rooms are clean. There's Air conditioner for each room. Nice place to came back.

Amazing space. Free dinner and breakfast making it great value. Nice atmosphere. Very helpful staff. They have a lot of advice for tons of trips around. They also rent bikes. Great for short as well as long stays. And it is very central location. 10min to Malioboro and to ťrain station.

This hostel is almost perfect. As a backpacker, it’s great. You can basically have all of your meals for free here. The breakfast and dinner is free with a great environment for both meals, the lunch is not really formal but there are snacks and leftovers available. Laura is great and will let you play with the snakes they take good care of. There a nice hangout areas and free drinking water. The only bad thing is the bathrooms. The hostel is sparkling clean (it’s a hostel), but the bathrooms are a toilet and a shower very close together. If you need to go after someone has showered, expect bugs and a soaking wet toilet. Will come here again definitely. Well worth the money. Cool beds too.

Walking distance from train station. Stayed in all-male dorm room. Good Wi-Fi throughout. Shoes — off policy inside the hostel. Free breakfast and dinner each morning that is vegan friendly, but heavy on the carbohydrates. Laura is a fluffy gal that loves to interact with guests and get them touring the local area. She and the other staff can help with sorting that out because it's hard to get out all done without help. I did the Borobudur tour with a few other stops with 4 other guests, all arranged within 2 hours of my arrival. Must have been 300 km driven that day on the tour. On account of the heat and the long distances, bring endurance and stamina. Other days, I got around Yogyakarta using Grabbike. Most activities for most visitors won't be in walking distance.

Simply AMAZING, it was the best decision to go here, really good food and the best staff you can imagine, really helpful and nice.

Best Place to stay in Yogyakarta. Breakfast and even dinner free :). Good beds in rooms with climatisation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tours to many destinations possible.

I will really recomend this hostel for thoses Backpackers who are travelling alone, is easy to meet people there. They offert also Tours with excelents price.

All about pleasure to be one big family of this hostel. This hostel will give you a different atmosphere while you stay here. Near the city center, between 2 train stations. The best thing of this hostel is free-very nice food. Be kind to the crew they will give you a lot-lot help that you never thought. Anyway, this is best hostel I ever seen in my whole life so far. Many thanks for all of the crews. Love you guys.

I arrived after spending the night in the closed YOG airport due to a credit card issue and they went out of their way to make my unusual circumstances work. I walked in after wondering the sweaty streets for hours, tired and weary, they showed me to my room immediately and offered me breakfast. I had finally found a bit of reprieve and nourishment after a long and trying night.
And then they jammed out from for hours and I think it was the first opportunity I had had to hear actual Indo music since my arrival a week and a half ago. He sounds coming from the outdoor gathering area were reminiscent of home, hanging out with some buddies making music.
Go here, feel at home.
