Good place for backpacking, they're affordable and the bed is quite private with curtain and all, their communal bath is not that accommodating though, without shampoo and soap. But they provide towel.

Excellent hostel. It is mostly local Indonesians not travellers, So it is hard to meet new people. Clean and easy to navigate. 5 min walk from malioboro mall. Simple breakfast is toast with jam/peanut butter/nutella. Room has windows. Bed is very comfy. Locker is spacious. You can hear the music from the nearby bar till about 2am.

Stayed in 7 different countries and obviously many many Hostel this is one definitely add to one in top, very very friendly staff and they are all ways there to guide you, don’t miss coffee (ground floor coffee bar) here it’s amazing. Location is unbelievable in heart of the city! Heaven for backpackers, Sadly — breakfast reminds you 1980s schools Hostels not even basic noodle or chicken rice (they change at lest), right infornt of Hostel small lucifer pub tons of prostitutes! Just 10 meters front, music play till 2 am Hostel glass vibrates in that sound, just imagine! Bring ear sound protective buds with you. Strangely many local aged between of 55 to 60 also come here to stay due respect not seen this anywhere in life, price is 30% more then near hostels in and around buts it’s worth paying,

Honestly I loved staying here. Stayed for 1 week in female single pod for some privacy. Great location, walking distance to malioboro, clean and brand new facilities. The staff was totally friendly and help us plan where to go and what to use and explain things for us. They had no problem explaining to us whether in english or malay. I do warn you if you are a light sleeper you might be having trouble sleeping since there's a night club across the hostel. At Midnight it might be little noisy. So bring you earplug and it could be much better if they provide laundry service in side their hostel. Since we stayed there for a long time and we are tired everyday. We didnt have enough clean clothes, we were to tired to do our laundry elsewhere. I wouldnt mind paying to do laundry at the hostel. Other than midnight noise and laundry service everything was great here. Last but not least i'll forever remember our trip together with the staff and the owner to river rafting. Thanks for throwing me to the river guys. HAHAHA i'll repay the gesture in the future. HAHHAHHA till we meet again.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean, nice common area fo hang out, coffee and tea available all the time for free. A bit cold in the room due to AC but it is ok with the curtains. Nice dormitory, I loved it! And very well located. Our dormitory was next to the street so a bit noisy but overall it was ok for a really good price!

I enjoyed staying at wake up because it's very clean and comfortable. The beds are bunk bed style but the ceilings are very high and the upper bunk is lifted giving both bunks much space. Each bunk has a thick curtain and light for privacy. The beds are very comfortable with down blankets. For the money it's a fantastic value with aircon rooms and hot water. It's located a block from the main shopping district. The bar across the street is loud but I sleep with headphones and music so this wasn't a problem for me.

Really nice place with an affordable price. They allowed us to check in earlier before the time which is really nice of them. But the breakfast was pretty normal though (bread and coffee).

Although hospitality standard of each staff is different, overall this is good. Near from Malioboro and Tugu station. For low rate homestay, this place has quite good service and clean room.

Really nice hostel just 10 minutes away from Maliboro street. Bed and Sheets are very clean. Free towel. And very nice common room. Only problem is Wi-fi. The Wi-fi requires sign-in every single time you want to use it. And the signal does not reach the room. Only work in common room or outside of the room. It sucks. There is a bar with live performance outside at night. But was not a problem for me.

(+) This is my first experience as a solo traveller. Since the first time I'm looking for the accomodation I've fall in love with Wakeup Homestay because of the review that people wrote n because of the distance from Tugu Train Station, it took 3-5 minutes walking for me.
So, I decided to choose Wakeup Homestay, I stay there on November 19-21 and… tadaaaa no regret at all. I'm super satisfied that I spent my 3D2N there :) The homestay itself is clean n neat. The bed and blan…ket are super comfort and has curtain for every bed. The bathroom and toilet are clean as well. They got locker for every guest in the bedroom (i think it will fit up to 65L carrier), you just need to bring your own lock.
Some of the review said that the music from the bar across the street were too loud and it's quite disturbing. But luckily I got a room that can't be reach by that loud music ;) but no worries, I think you can bring your ear plug and wear it before you sleep.
They prepared bread and jam as a breakfast and coffee and tea as well. The staff (especially mas Yudith n mas Galang) are very friendly and nice. They gave a lot of information about Jogja and how to reach some places by public transportation :)
For sure I will stay in Wakeup Homestay if I returned to Jogja :) and I super recommended this place if your looking for a cheap, cozy bedroom, comfort, clean, strong Wi-Fi and easy to reach from Tugu Train Station or even from Malioboro.

Wakeup Homestay is beautiful place to stay in Yogjakarta, Its in a comfortable distance to the trainstation.
Its quite in the center of Yogja, so its easy to explore the streets and restaurants especially Malioboro. We spent there 4 nights, even longer than we supposed to, because it was great. Very comfortable beds, clean bathroom, and rooms, and very polite staff especially Galang. He organised an awesome trip on our 3rd day. We are allowed to teach 3 classes in SMA Stella, a school near Yogja surrounded by a beautiful landscape. It was a great experience for us and we had a lot of fun. We recommend this acitiy to all of you. It was a unique experience in real indonesian live.

The best hostel near Malioboro street with clean bed and tidy room. Recommended.

When my parents visited Yogyakarta and stay in wakeup homestay the place is very clean and comfortable and this place is also close to the malioboro street and then we can reach the train station is only 5 minutes. My parents told me when go to Yogyakarta again will stay in wakeup homestay :). Thanks for make my parents stay comfortable in Yogyakarta. :* :) :D.
