Review of Grand Hyatt Bali 5*

After 8 long nights here we will never go back! We booked this place for our honeymoon and I wish we had of done more research. The staff on arrival and the whole time were not happy or friendly, we requested a clothes horse on day 1 (that in most hotels there is one per room included) I called twice a day for 6 days and we never received one, they said we were on a ‘waiting list’ for one. My husband & I upon booking last year advised it was our honeymoon and they were going to organise something special for the room on arrival, nothing was done and they had forgotten we were there celebrating our honeymoon. I had to call for fresh hand and face towels every few days because for some reason house keeping only replaced bath towels. There was a few days there that our swipe card to get in the door wasn’t working, so when we got home late at night we were locked out, no staff around so had to make the trip back to the lobby (and if you have stayed here before you would know that from some rooms it’s not a short walk) when they eventually came down to try & let us in their master key wasn’t working either so they would have to go and find another card to try. This happened several times. Bathroom blinds were broken and couldn’t be closed properly, patio door lock broken. It was just a terrible experience, the staff did absolutely nothing to rectify anything even after several conversations daily. I might add we had family staying in another room who also had several problems and are highly disappointed. Including being locked out! We also met a lovely family at the airport who stayed here for a week and again, are very disappointed and would never go back. I am not one to write a bad review but this was terrible and I would hate for someone else to be disappointed. If you do go hopefully you don’t drink Corona, they are $15 PLUS 21% tax for one! I have stayed in several 5 star places in Bali and this place is not 5 star. I am just so thankful that we didn’t have to end our honeymoon at this place, we got to enjoy Padma Ubud to make up for the week!
