A friend walked in to Social Space Hostel — Andheri Mumbai for a room, as it is conveniently located around his workplace. He carried all the required documents such as an address/ID proof. The desired rooms were available too. But they refused to give him a room unless he produces a No Objection Certificate from a police station. Why? Because he is a Kashmiri! Nowhere in their rules does it mention that this special treatment will be given to Kashmiris. There isn't a law to this nature else every hotel/hostel in Mumbai will be asking for NOCs. This is just a shameful case of routine harrasment and racism meted out to Kashmiris by mainland Indians. I call for boycotting this place by anybody in need of a non-hostile hostel space as this place is run by people dulled by prejudice!
I was a first timer to staying in a hostel and actually leaving Liverpool alone so was nervous on arrival. This place was amazing I loved every minute the staff went above and beyond to help with any need and the guests was just as helpful. This is an experience I will never forget THANK YOU VERY MUCH XX.
