Sharing some pictures of the beautiful sunset taken from the window of a house beside the Mandovi. The tide was out and a sandy patch is clearly visible in the evening pictures. A nice scenic waterfront littered by iron ore barges and casiNOs. Could be kept cleaner. Filled with history.

We enjoyed a great river cruise on the River Mandovi in Goa. The view on both the sides of the river was great and we experienced the rare sight of a double rainbow in the sky after a mild shower. There was a great music and dance programme on the upper deck while the discotheque was on the middle one. Food (buffet) was great. Panjim looked even better after sundown. A great experience.

Mandovi river it's something to enjoy apart from beaches in Goa. The banks of the river are very huge and many people confuse it with sea. There are many floating casinos on the Mandovi river. You can also enjoy Cruise ride which is an amazing experience. It's a delight to see the river in the evening which is full of lights as casinos starts business in the evening.

The Evening cruise experience is too good. The sunset view is dazzling. The view of Mandovi river joining Arabian sea, birds in the skyline and water, the music and the breeze make it a very memorable experience. Would definitely recommend the river cruise. You can have a bird's eye view of the casino anchored.

Mandovi River (Panjim) is best for evening after going around Panjim Marketplace. Best to take a Jetty ride (to and fro) which is free of cost! The jetty ferries around people, bikes and is an extremely fun ride. You can view the casino boats, cruise boats, fishermen boats, etc on the river cruising along which is a sight to watch. The view of the water along with the Sunset is nothing short but magical. Do go to the jetty for a memorable ride!

Evening time is the best to come here. Enjoy the lights and the view of the river as well. Also you can take a cruise which is also very enjoyable along the river.

Excellent walk arounds along river bank and also offshore casinos is a must visit.

Its just a river that has Capital city on its bank. It joins Arabian sea, and has a few casinos.

Very good view. Width of river is high in Panjim. I had a boat ride there. Very nice.

The venerable Hotel Mandovi is an institution in Goa. Her rose coloured building on the Wharf by the flowing Mandovi river has been a prominent landmark in Panjim for more years than I have lived! My culinary experiences at their Riorico restaurant over the years have always been outstanding. This graceful restaurant with chandeliers and formal seating is very comfortable and famous for its Portuguese and Goan dishes. Jacinto has been a steward here for years and continues to be friendly and extremely helpful. Prices are reasonable and the selection on the menu is large enough to suit all tastes. They have a parking enclosure across the road.
For lunch my wife ordered their famous Chicken Cafreal with Poi, the local bread. I ordered Vegetable Caldhin curry and Pea with cashew nut usal with goan red boiled rice and Solachi kadi to down it. The food was excellent!

Some even consider it the Mother River of Goa it is beautiful river with some of India's loveliest inhabited Islands (Divar, Charao, St Estavan, etc), The Dr. Salim Ali Bird sanctuary and a couple of wild life sanctuaries are dependent upon this lifeline of Goa for their existence…

Our hotel manager in Alpoura, Baga way said try it. It was a break in our Two week package holiday. Booked, one night Stayed two. Bar restaurant just what we like, all the staff reception, bar, and restaurant. Very attentive. If we did not have our hotel in Alpoura. Would have stayed. Very old charm, superb staff, very authentic goan cooking, full of nostalgia. I always have a stop here to enjoy kishmur and chilled beer and the beautiful view of mandovi river from the gallery.

Food quality has gone down since a few years, but still a very nice setting and place to eat. Prices are a bit high.

A lovely old hotel situated at the banks of the Mandovi river. Perfect place to go to for proper Goan cuisine.

A hotel with an old world charm. First launched in the 1950s. Old timers say that locals would visit this hotel just to see it's lift — — the first in town, and it still exists on the left when you enter its main entrance. In the past, politicians visiting Goa (mainly to tackle local political instability) would stay here. That was before they went more plush… They have a bookshop at the hotel, which, though small, stocks a number of current and interesting local books. Their restaurant is good, and fairly okay value for money. Of course, not the kind of place that working people like me would eat at too often :-) This hotel's major plus is its location. It is in the heart of town.

Its great. Just on face of beautiful mandovi river. The night view from riverfacing room is great.
