Botanique Goa Guesthouse

A beautiful place newly come up, has an amazing rustic feel all over. Being new has some of the teething problems but the owner is hardworking, cheerful ever smiling Carol sorts out the issues immediately. Have a nice small cozy cafe with authentic french cuisine, food is tasty, yummy plus the setting near the pool adds a touch of serenity to it. A bit pricy but compensates with the comfort, courteous service by A. Sharma. Loved our time here. Had fish of the day Red Snapper with potatoes, veg Ravioli in cheese, Ceasers Chicken Salad and Beef burgers. Two kinds of mocktails of amazing combinations. Keep it up Carol and team.

A quiet little corner, off the main Assagaon road. Drive down the slope and you reach this mustard and white building among forest trees, with rooms and a bistro-cafe, as French as can be. There’s a pool as well, bordered by a stand of coconut trees if you feel like a swim and a few deck chairs to laze on. It’s all warm, friendly and cozy. If you like French, then don’t expect hearty… as it’s a limited drinks, starters, mains and dessert menu, with limited portions as well — if you’re a big eater, then you’ll feel kinda unsatiated. Service is very prompt and they’ll lay the cutlery-crockery and clear it, on cue. We ordered some starters to share (ceviche, crostini and Caesar salad were really good, the breaded chicken in the salad was a superb touch! ) and individual mains. And here’s where my problem with Indian beef comes in; no matter the freshness or marination, it just never has that quality to be able to be served rare or medium rare… it needs to be cooked well. I know every chef would wrinkle their nose at my request for it to be well done (Sam didn’t) but the beef in India comes from either milch or draught cattle, so is gamey and just doesn’t lend itself to that preparation (which is why we spice the heck out of it usually! ) Would I go here again? Most definitely! Loved the general ambience and now want to try out the other items on the menu and maybe spend a quiet weekend in one of the rooms. Complete lesuire place at it's own. Good hospitality and concerned staff. Pet friendly and welcoming property. Actually spacious room. We had a good stay and our pet also enjoyed, would like to visit again.

I visited the restaurant. Ordered a fish burger whose bun was so stale and dry that it just broke apart. And they claimed the fish was Kingfish, but I am a Goan and I know 200% it was not. I suspect it to be basa but not sure cause I never eat that fish. They said they will find out what fish it is but never did. Then they claimed the bakery they bring their bread from had no electricity so therefore the bread was stale. And I still ended up paying 420 Rs for this. To their credit my friend was very happy with her order.

Amazing place! The house was simple yet elegant personified. Sam and all the staff were fantastic hosts, he personally attended to cater all our queries. The food was exquisite as well. The perfect holiday home.
