Cool place to hang out and meet people. Really friendly and helpful staff couldn’t do enough for you. Good location near the beaches, cafes, bars etc. Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing site with clean rooms and very nice bathrooms! The vibe is really cool and the compound layout is perfect if you want to relax or party with other guests. The staff are helpful, friendly, and reliable. But the element that makes this place magical are the fellow travelers. I met people from all over the world and I now have new friends for life!

Very cheap 300 for AC room and 200 for non AC. I would suggest to take AC room because of mosquitoes. If want to spend sometime with foreigners… Yes this is the perfect place to stay. One foreigner is running this hostel and he's really cooperative. Common fridge is available for use. Hot is available 24 hrs in shower room. One of the best advantage of staying here is curlies is very close to this hostel. Also there are Cafe's close to the hostel. If you have a car then you have to pay parking charge 300rs per day which is very costly.

Great hostel, Jonas and Leo are both great. Booked me onward transport and became my persobal DJs in the world famous Curlies. This place is the perfect balance of Zen like chill and party. Great Hostel.

My first time here and in Goa! Jonas and Dushyant made me feel right at home. Always recommended for solo and first time travelers. Love you guys!

Only for backpackers looking for a place to rest their head. It's not a hotel, it's just a dormitory. A really nice experience. But be sure to take a copy of your passport. They rent scooties too.

Amazing hostel because of the people and good vibes. The only downside is the Internet is only available in a couple areas so not ideal if you need to work a lot, but we enjoyed the disconnect while there and there's plenty of people hanging out to enjoy the time with. Kitchen to cook meals and a lot of great hang out spots with beautiful nature everywhere!

This place is just amazing. I spent there perfect chill time during monsoon season. Just be careful, this place is quite addictive. You go there for few nights and then you stay for a week or even more. Happened to too many paople, can't be coincidence!

Great place, simple, neat and clean dorms. The four person dorms have attached bathrooms. The staff and the dog Azad are very friendly :) There is a Cafe right outside that serves simple breakfast. The staff helped us find taxis and rent scooters. Other people staying at the hostel were also friendly.

Definitely a budget stay, 5min walk to the beach. Not the cleanest hostel but good hospitality. There is no power backup and there was powercut for about 2-3hrs. The temperature was 35deg! Food tasted fine although seemed very unhygienic. Also they served the same vegetables on 2 consecutive days which makes me wonder about the freshness of it. Moreover, they stop serving food beyond 8pm! Their website is misleading — says they accept credit cards, but they take only cash. Also, we had booked a 'twin' room, but they offered us a double bedroom. The owner blamed the website guy for both the confusions and offered to move us to a dorm which defeats the whole point of booking a private room. I wouldn't stay here the next time I am in Goa. There are much better places for the same price.

Funky Monkey is the go-to-place in Anjuna or any north goan beach if you are looking for a chill base for your adventures! Loved the vibes there! Stayed over 2 weeks. Staff and Joe Bananas restaurant are super friendly and helpful! Try the strawberry juice!

Very poor hospitality. Go only if you have no other options left. Only thing good about this place is its proximity to Anjuna beach. And also, I felt this place is not appropriate for women. Although this is my personal opinion.

Have stayed in this one 3 times and everytime the experience was really nice. The positives of this place is the way they have maintained it, really clean and comfortable. Huge area to hang around and nice chilling area where you can meet other travellers. So it's not a party hostel but if you in a mood to party, Curlies is just 5 mins walk.

I stayed here for 4 Nights. The staff is friendly. The campus is fairly large and decently maintained. The attach restaurant run by the land owners, has some really great veg options. Though the plumbing can be better maintained as the shower in my Dorm was really trickling water. And there were no buckets given to have an alternative option to low pressure water supply.

Best hostel to live in. It's right behind curlies, anjuna. People are awesome here and you'll make some great friends here.

Great place! I just loved it here! I stayed here for a good 10 days! I go to Goa every year and this has so far been the best!

Cool chilled out place close to anjuna beach. The common area and sitout areas are nice but the dorms could've been maintained better. The bunk beds weren't comfortable. The complementary breakfast was so so.

Great feeling accommodation and very close to the beach. Offer great scooter hire and taxi services.

Extremely friendly staff, good priced dorm bed for how much you are getting. Best internet I have had during my travels across India. The free breakfast is abosutely amazing with a choice of Indian or western style meal! Great place to meet fellow travellers. Also have scooter hire from the hostel for a good price. Also has a very cute 7 week old labradore puppy which is a great addition to a great hostel.

Most calm and quite place, but only till the party is not On. Hotel is close to beach and has a good place to eat just outside the hostel, Great outdoor areas to sit relax and party.

Its a great and peaceful hostel with a nice area to relax, share backpack stories and spend some time together. The stuff is awesome and really helpful! The beach is really close, too. All in all a great place to stay and spend a couple of days, had a great time. Thanks guys! :) Mo.

The best hostel I have EVER stayed in! The staff are helpful, friendly and absolutely amazing. They made my stay here so comfortable, fun and wonderful. The dorms are spacious and clean with ensuite bathrooms including hot showers. The chill out area is the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring Anjuna! Breakfast is included in your stay and motorbike/scooter rental can also be arranged. The hostel is located fabulously with just a 3 minute walk to the beach, a restaurant right next door and a 2 minute stroll to other popular restaurants, bars and night clubs. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Funky Monkey Hostel and I sure will be back again soon! Thank you guys!

Super chilled place. Clean, close to beach and Curlies, value for money and smiling and helpful staff. Goa — Anjuna mein aur kya chahiye?

Loved the atmosphere and the crowd. Though Curlies was closed during that time, it was not an issue.

Nice social hostel. Rooms are clean and air conditioned, lots of friendly people staying, staff are helpful. Showers could do with renovation, but there is one nice one. Would recommend if staying in the area.

The goa you have never seen, this place is a backpackers haven. Cheap stay, cozy beds, Wi-Fi, free breakfast and friends from all nationality. Rohit is the guy you should meet.

Good backpacker hostel, staff is quite good easy accesible to Anjuana Beach. Wifi doesn't work all the time. Offer free brfkfst with the rooms.

Staff are very fun, and they have everything you need in a hostel. The common area outside is great for meeting people and it's away from the rooms so you don't have to worry about being too quiet.

I must say I was in for a surprise when I saw my roommates who were from another country but it's not about boundries anymore it's about coming together and celebrating and I had one hell of a time during my short stay, met amazing people, definately staying there again and it's directly behind one of the well known clubs in Anjuna that's Curlies and Shiva Valley.

What can I say about the funkymonkey. The hostel itself is brilliant, lots of outdoor space, nice clean dorms and a very chilled vibe. It's within walking distance to the beach and the notorious club curlies and a few decent restaurants and cafes. But the main selling point is the people that run the place. You can tell that DK and Leo have poured alot into their spot in Anjuna and they make it feel more like being invited into their home than a hostel. Anyone travelling around Goa I would say the funkymonkey is a must, it will be the best decision you make.

I stayed there for 2 days during a long weekend. I fall in love with the place when I saw it for the first time. People here are quite friends and helpful. Rooms are good and cheap but above all the ambience here is mesmerizing. Highly recommended.
