Awesome service, Except for food varieties. Nice ambience with good rooms. Including boat voyage It's all worth for a day. But have to spend two nights for matching your travelling time.

It's a really great place to visit we had a lots of memories and fun here… Must visiting place for all to get refreshment.

Except the last lap of the road, everything else is good. If you want absolute silence with Nature's beauty, this is your place. Day trips are very affordable with meals & boating, roughly ₹600 per person, really worth it!

Location was excellent. Service was little slow. Boating details was provided late as we were only there for one day and the boat ride was for 2 hours. Food options could have been better.

The road to the resort was a bit tricky but Google did help us a lot. The last 200m is unpaved and bumby and puts you in an unplanned adventure ride. But the place is definitely worth this. Rooms are located on a narrow land strip and hence allows a view of both the lake and river. Its your own heaven away from the city life almost like a private island. You can also have a clear view of sunrise and sunset from both sides. A lawn with hammocks and couple of wooden swings are present. The landscape is breathtaking. Your mornings would be refreshing with chipping of squirrels and birds. And maybe you can have dip in the river or lake. A decent breakfast was served. Some activities and games are available. A canoe trip through the river at Rs. 350 per head is an option. Rest are inclusive. Swimming pool isn't there, but it doesn't seem essential in such a set up. Small resort with maximum capacity of 30 guests. Recommended for honeymoon package. The rooms are a bit pricey at Rs. 5000

The property even though small, is good and is facing back water. The Suite rooms where I have stayed is considerable larger. They have provisions for gaming apart from Play area. The cannoying in raw boat which they offer is very much ravishing. By paying rupees 350 to 400 per hour you can travel across the length and breadth of Munroe Island and enjoy its scenic beauty. There are lot of Canals criss — crossing each other and you have to bow when you're crossing a Canal underneath a bridge. Fishing is another experience. However the service levels where very poor they made the made us waiting for almost 1 hour for checking in and on next day they did not provided bed coffee also. The most insulting situation was when the front office boy asked us to produce marriage certificate.

This was one decision which I did not repent. Though we made the reservation at 8pm and checked in at around 10 on the same day, but was surprised the next day seeing the sunrise from one side of the room. The view was gorgeous. The rooms were spacious and well maintained, the staff was helpful and courteous. The resort is located at a peninsular portion which is of narrow triangle shape and protrudes into the lake. They will arrange canoe ride which we did not opt for. Surely I will be back here once more for a full day stay hoping to catch both sunrise and sunset with lake and river.

The location is very good. You should get out of the room and explore the surroundings. It is very beautiful with River on one side and lake on the other side. Also they have provided seats near the bank of the river where you can sit and relax. You should not expect the rooms to be luxurious and also do not expect the service to be of top quality. But the people here are nice. If you don't expect much, you will like this place.

The pics and videos we saw online about this place was breathe taking but when we reached there we are totally disappointed. There was no swimming pools in this resort.

It's a nice resort with some good water frontage, good rooms, a restaurant by ashtamudi kayal etc. It's a bit far off Kollam, u need to catch a ferry (runs every half an hour) to get there. It's a good weekend getaway not ideal for business travelers.

We did not stay at the resort but came here for lunch and dinner during our stay on Munroe Island. Food is good and the outdoor patio, right by the canal, offers nice views but they need to improve the cleanliness of the patio area (tables were not cleaned up promptly after guests left and that "invited" crows and birds to fly in to feast on the leftovers). Service was very slow, the young gentleman who attended us both times was very friendly but he seems to be alone out there and also helping in the kitchen so he was often not around when we wanted to grab his attention. If better managed and organized, this place has a lot of potential.

My major reasons were 1. TOO HEAVY PRICING:The price of a suite room was 5K+Tax. But they are not providing a room to be like a 3 Star. Even bathroom has a small 10 rupee coin hole in the door. They are lacking in our privacy 2. RUBBISH FOOD:I ordered a chicken Fried rice and noodles. The price was too heavy, They charged me 280 for rice 300 for noodles. So I thought they would serve me very well. But at last The scenario has changed, The rice and noodles were not boiled well. It was tragic to find any chicken pieces in my bowl. This led to bad digestion. In fact My stomach got upset and I was unable to drive my car. My whole vacation had been spoilt because of their irresponsibility. Even in the breakfast part. They are not serving well 3. PATHETIC SERVICE:I ordered the food on 7:30 pm, They provided me @ 10:15 pm. Please don't think about this place for a Vacation or if you come with your family. Sterling resort would be great if you want to visit in Kollam.

Amazing location and great potential. Boating the lake in a canoe was great. Not sure the staff have ever run a hotel before though. Fairly basic requests such as, for example, wanting to check out, seemed to cause deep confusion and extensive discussion.

Really nice location. Food was also good eventhough options were limited. A small play area for kids with few small slides or so would have helped to engage them more.

Stayed here for one night to do the canoe trip around the backwaters. Turned out to be a highlight of our trip, it was organised through the hotel. Beautiful waters, slow and peaceful journey lasting 2hr. Dinner back at the hotel was good, the prawns especially fresh being farmed in the backwaters. We booked the suite which was £30. Huge, comfortable bed. Amazing big windows looking out onto the lake. The service provided by the staff was excellent. They were very attentive and informative. The only downside was being woken by the chattering birds early in the morning. But what do you expect being in a nature filled environment! There is nothing else around this area and nothing to do except boat trip, though there are bicycles to rent which we didn't have time for. Would defo recommend the canoeing, and a one or two night stay here.

Beautiful place surrounded by the back waters, delicious food and wonderful stay. Had a great time out there with my friends, canoeing was the main highlight and the staff arranged barbecue at night near the lake which was completely a different experience.

The resort is tucked away from the busy life, minimal population, great atmosphere, great canoe ride for 2 hours. Well maintained budget resort in a scenic location. Wonderful host, they will arrange everything for you, very attentive and informative.

Worst hotel With Mr Akhil at counter is worst person and don't know how to talk to customers… He can spoil your picnic and good time to worst… For four person in executive room only 2 towels are given. 3 thin bedsheets for ac room with blankets. Food quality given was of no standard. No one to see what customer need in food or to attend, may be food given was bad and Mr Akhil was sure that complaint would be there for sure. Best option is to hide… Me and my family didn't had proper food at 9 pm there was no one in kitchen which is recorded on video. Govt of Kerala and Kerala Tourism should take serious action against hotel and take recording of cctv camera of hotel to know how bad they serve. My hotel was booked on AGODA site at 18:20hrs for executive ac suit but Hotel refuse to honour booking till 22:00hrs … Never visit this hotel.

Picturesque location as in the website. Good food kerala style. Mrng canoe was relaxing. Room was big with balcony to view the lake. Hammocks are there but few are broken. Rest, everything is fine. Friendly staff.

If only this place had a pool, would've given 5 stars. Property may not excite you much, but the premises would surely compromise for it. Great place to be at!

Superb place to unwind… Backwaters all around, canoe rides through the narrow channels, lush greenery… It was a trip I'll remember. The staff were cordial and supportive all throughout… Definitely recommended.

It's a Wonderful experience. The view is very nice similar in their name Lake and River. Good hospitality and all the staffs are very much friendly and attentive, in Boating we go through the sole of Munroe Island and it was amazing. Spacious rooms in Upstairs. Neat and clean well maintained rooms. Amble parking space. Food is also Deletious.

Food, tea etc. Is available on order. You can book your canoeing at resort and visit ashtamudi lake (octopus — shaped, gateway to backwaters) and kallada river.

Cheap and budget, take the boat ride it is simply worth it, and exotic.

Found the place from TripAdvisor. A really great resort for families and kids. The combination of lake and river on two sides was good, though it's only safe to get into the water on the lakeside. Better to carry flip-flops to get into the water as some shells on the bed give minor cuts to your feet and can be painful. Kids escaped such cuts somehow, may be due to less weight. A perfect place to chill out for a weekend with family. Choose rooms facing lake as there is constant wind on that side. An a/c room would also be better, especially if it's summer. The management of the resort is outstanding and they make you feel really welcome and would help you in all ways possible. Kids had a great time there. The resort is new and the prices are great now but it may go up later on. Some online companies such as Agoda offer special discounts that turned out to be cheaper than what the resort could offer in person. Don't forget to get canoe rides through streams. The management will arrange it on request. Overall, it's a place to go and relax for a few days, away from work-related and other worries.

Beautiful, quiet place. Adapted to the reception of families with children who can run and play (badminton, football, swimming, cycling, chess …) Safely. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless, new, the food is good. Beautiful walking or biking walks between land and water accessible right in front of the hotel. Free bikes and maps of the available walks. Anyway, we'd like to stay longer.

Staff are helpful and pleasant. Lots of them too. At least two of them speak English well, the hotel manager being one of them (Akil). Very peaceful and quiet place and it seems like everyone on Munroe Island likes to keep it that way, which is great. The hotel now has 3 bicycles which are free for guests to use and explore the island. Worth doing. They will also arrange canoeing trips and motor boating on the lake. Food is good but with fairly limited choices, seafood and fish options are good though with pre ordering required. Nothing too exciting going on here but if you want tranquility and gorgeous surroundings then this place is great. Rooms are good, simple and clean with hot water and complimentary items provided. Few mosquitoes around but room plug ins provided.

Our film shooting team stayed in this beautiful resort which is surrounded by a lake and river. The atmosphere is so peaceful. The resort is very neat and clean and the service staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. We enjoyed the fresh fish cooked by the chef from the lake and it was delicious and also different varities of indian breakfasts. Will surely visit this place again :)
