We had a fun couple of days in a quaint cottage with visits to the private beach along with dips in the swimming pool. So much of place to walk around and enjoy nature … lovely butterflies and the food was amazing.

Loved the experience on the whole… The cottages were well spaced with ample space for privacy… the hammocks, the beach and the pool were the highlights for us…
Rooms were good but also had limitations regarding AC, TV and linen at the same time… but the staff were all much helpful…
Loved the butterfly garden… and the walk around the resort was much relaxing…

Wonderful place to stay in calm and quite environs just few meters away from their private beach. The cottages are comfy and food is awesome.

Has its own private beach. Awesome experience, very close to nature. Has butterfly park activity room. You can hire bicycle to roam around in the hotel campus.

Abad Turtle Beach, a beautiful resort, with attentive staff, who really look after you, which is something we are enjoying all across our visit of Kerala. The sun setting on the beach, with the local fishermen retuning with their catch, this is a beautiful location. The butterfly garden is also worth a visit. The chef in the restaurant is very good.

We went for a short vacation and time flew. Beautifully maintained property so close to the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. The pool was well maintained.

Wonderful place. Very calm and peaceful ambience, lots of space excellent service and cottages. Go for it, you can bring the whole family here.

Nice property. Nice views. The staff is courteous. But inclined to serve bigger groups and small group get ignored. We reached the property at around 1pm and wanted an ayurvedic massage and the slot available was only 2pm. We booked the slot and thought of finishing our lunch quickly to be available for the massage. On enquiring with the hotel staff, they said that they are busy making arrangement for the bigger group and you will have to wait. We really felt ignored and the bigger group kept abusing the quiet and serene environment and when we requested the hotel staff to politely ask them to observe decorum, they said that they had already tried and didn't at all attempt to do anything to the bigger group.

Resort is easily accessible with good parking facilities. Though it is well maintained, rooms has started showing signs of aging. Bathrooms are not pristine. Few of the towels had a peculiar smell. Food was really good. But charging Rs 50 for a bottle of water with printed MRP of Rs 19 was not cool. The rush was little maddening for the breakfast buffet. Staff is friendly and courteous, though their numbers felt a tad short at places. A superb beach and good swimming pool are the highlights of this resort. Beach is just about 100 metres from the resort, where they have provided lifeguards and have kept the beach clean. It is almost a private beach. Other activities like fishing, farming and games could not be tried due to rain.

A nice holiday resort. Courteous staff. Good infrastructure. Facility full of fruit tree s. Restaurant provide tasty food, maintain the Abad brand. Very true country side ambience.

Awesome place to spend the vacation. The staff are very professional. Buffet is good as well. Private beach and the pool were awesome. Overall superb. One can stay for 2 days max.

This is the best place to stay if you're planning to visit Mararikkulam. My stay here was extremely wonderful. I was delighted by the service they offer. All the staff were friendly and polite and helped us every now and then. The beach was beautiful and super clean as well as the swimming pool. The food was delicious there were both Indian and western cuisines. The resort was really peaceful and relaxing. Would surely recommend this place to anyone who asks.

Abad resort, a truly wonderful resort for a peaceful stay. The area of the resort property is quite big and one can easily spend a couple of days inside to relax and cut-off from the routine life. The resort has a back gate that opens to turtle beach, again very scenic. The greenery is lush and we totally feel ourselves admist mother nature. The butterfly garden was beautiful. Talking of the rooms, they are very spacious, air-conditioned and have every facility. Extra beds are provided on request. The complimentary breakfast has Kerala dishes as well as English breakfast items. The staff is very helpful and conversant in English/Malayalam. Golf cart can be requested for transferring luggage during check-in/out. For indoor commute cycles are provided. Tip: Do take your camera, the property is nicely maintained and has numerous scenic frames, will be a compliment for birds and butterfly photographers.

Lovely quiet beach resort with friendly staff, good food, air con bungalows, pool and beach. Beach towels and toiletries complimentary. Wi-Fi good. Ayurvedic centre good. Butterfly garden beautiful. Fishing platform not so great. Small drinks hut/shack at beach. Little shade.

Good area in which you can just live and not see the horrors of the local life if not go beyond the fence. Normal kitchen is relatively of course India. But the spa center leaves much to be desired overpriced towels and it is not clear when done repair such impression of the last century is not in the best sense of course.

We have never met such friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Incredibly!
We were invited to dinner once, with my husband an Ayurvedic doctor was visited, etc. The grounds are nice and quiet, fantastic beach with little people. Room/Cottage Super. Linen is changed every day — for which it is important to have a la carte or buffet. No alcohol is sold here. They tolerate brought. I personally find it uncomfortable to bring his drink.

Best place to stay… In the world! Great location, atmosphere, food, staff, service… Great.

Great bungalow almost on the beach! We had a couple of issues with fan in room but fixed immediately all of the staff have been very helpful and friendly beach beautiful… food good for buffet style. I hope the resort can encourage locals to keep the beach and surrounding areas clean, as littering is part of life here. Such a shame when it’s so unspoilt now.

Brilliant location. Nice cottages. Good breakfast. Almost on a private beach. Beach access limited between 6 am and 7 pm. Food prices on a higher side. Nice place to spend with your family.

The hotel takes Indian tourists for granted as they have a steady flow of foreign visitor's. Rooms are good but furnishings require touch up. Buffet palate is more reared towards foreign tourists but A la carte was good.

Beautiful resort with butterflies, bananas and men climbing coconut palms. Access to a pristine beach. Food was average but satisfying, and service was friendly and attentive. Our AC remote didn't work, but we got it to work with a different remote. Room felt luxurious with a great bathroom, and we slept well.

Access to the beautiful beach is close by and hotel services provided at beach. Atmosphere is calm and wonderful for relax time with family and friends.

A very well planned beach resort. Slightly spread out but it helps when you need your privacy. Lot of open space. Easy access to a very clean and private well maintained beach. The swimming pool is well maintained as well with clean water. Food is equally good with authentic Kerala cuisine available. Indoor games are also available, the usual table tennis, carrom etc. The badminton area is also a very nice open place with place for people to sit close by and watch.

Excellent place. The beach is amazing, the water is still and the sea is in the calmer category. Water can be murky sometimes. The ambience is amazing food can be better.

Beautiful resort with great service and lots to see! They have their own butterfly garden, organic vegetable garden and of course, a private beach. Ducks are seen running through the resort! Ayurvedic massages are also available. The food is amazing and the staff is very courteous too!

The ambience of the hotel was very soothing and relaxing. Private beach, In house ayurveda adds cherry to the cake. The property is spread in a big area and hence you can have a nice relaxing walk even after your dinner. Its away from city traffic and noise, which in my way is great if you are on a relaxing vacation. Staffs are very good and co operative. Its just that they can improve on the facility that they provide inside room against the cost that they charge.

First of all, it's highly over priced for the facilities they provide and because of the following reasons: There are leeches creeping on the bathroom tiles. I believe they are crawling out the tile cracks. Salt water for shower is a big minus. Private beach is really dirty. Kids bicycle is 120 rupees per hour but they are in a worst Condition. The reception guys are very stingy to even provide you with a glass of water unless you pay the booking money. The property is good but really it's not worth the money. Had to wait for 45 minutes for food at their restaurant. Buffet is not on a regular basis which is too bad. Only good thing: good hospitality by the house keeping and the battery car operators. I would not consider this place for my next trip.

Please improve the quality of the food… was served spoilt fish in the seafood platter at dinner, although it was replaced when we complained. The one reason we booked Abad was because we expected good food!
Nevertheless, after the very unpleasant exchange with your reservation staff for ineptly cancelling our earlier booking, we ended up having a good time. The beach was great and villas we stayed in were neat & clean.

Great hotel in a great location. Very helpful and friendly personnel. Beach was fantastic and had magnificent views. Fishermen and white headed eagles were competing to catch fish at the shore. Food was also excellent.

We had a great time in your resort. The person in reception was very polite, smiling and took care of us pretty well. The plot you have is very green and well maintained. Cottage and Villa have no much difference other than Villa being costly and a little near beach. Room No Tip : 108/109 — Near Beach Has facilities to play badminton, cricket, volleyball etc. Not to miss: Butterfly garden, organic farm.

The welcome we received was very good and we felt pampered actually. We were welcomed with wet towels to freshen our face and it was a very lovely gesture as it was one hot and humid evening. While on the way to the cottage in the battery driven cart they gave the welcome drink too. We were in a cottage.

Stayed January 8 through 16. Beautiful, huge beach, not all vagrants and dealers. The hotel is quiet, the property features a butterfly garden, a private garden and orchard of the property. Chipmunks don't eat away your food, and in ponds lives a huge fish. To Alapuzha can be reached by tuk-tuk, by train, the station of the road not directly, need some popetlyat on the village) ) Lovely place and will be back) )

Average place, not to much going on there. For us just ok. Doesn't serve kerala authentic food. It's for tourists only. Have access to the beach, which is restricted by time.

Fantastic place. Fantastic staff went out of their way to help us. Gorgeous setting. Great beach. Had so much fun in the waves and chatted to some local fisherman.

Despite badly maintained garden and surroundings, this resort is fairly good and it provides you excellent food. Still this would be the last resort to recommend for given the rude behavior by some of the staff. The day long stay and a hall for a family meet were conveyed a month before and the message forwarded clearly, along with an advance amount towards the programme. The resort authorities even promised a to and fro transportation from the nearest railway station at 3.30 a. M. Just the previous night, they call up and inform that the rooms which were inclusive of the day long programme will not be provided as their check in time is 11 a. M while all was discussed and set earlier. The manager says the guests will be picked but the rooms will be arranged elsewhere and upon insistence agrees to provide the rooms in the resort itself. The next day the guests are picked, only to be dumped in two small congested rooms, probably meant for some other purpose for the staff of the hotel. The bathrooms are locked and nearly 20 people were left with no other alternative than to spend their time there till 10 in the morning, till they were provided the promised accommodation. The reason for the last minute change was vivid, foreign guests were seen in large numbers, the reason why the manager probably thought that ‘desis’ need not be entertained. The arrogance of the manager was unbearable when he said, ‘this is all what I can do, these are the rooms we provide for guests’.

I stayed 2night s with family, it was an amazing trip due to location of the resort and we enjoyed alot during our staying on March 2014.
