Very good stay! The owner gave us many interesting tips to enjoy the city safely. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms. Close to the Gahts. I would repeat at Kedar if again in Varanasi.

For a great price you get breakfast, hot water, good Wi-Fi, drinking water and a good location. There is no elevator, so keep that in mind if you are unable to climb stairs. The place is just a few short blocks for the main tourist blocks and market and the local market. I stayed here twice and extended my stay each time. Best Of Luck and Highly Recommend…

My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay here. All the reviews are true; the hosts are warm and generous with their time and knowledge about Varanasi and anything else you might be curious about. Location is convenient and the rooms are clean and reasonably priced. Plus you get a tasty breakfast! Stay here if you want a genuine homestay experience with a lovely family.

Not good experience rooms were not clean and the owner was rude too, gave us the worst room with hardly any facilities and it was very hot, also asked extra money for changing the room that also in a very rude way, please do not book this place in summer as you sould regret it for the rest of your life try some. Other good place on mmt or oyo.

Awesome guesthouse in a village-like area 5 min walk from Assi Ghat. The room was clean and there is always hot water for shower. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and have a lot of stories to tell. The breakfast is included and taking it downstairs is a good way to connect with the other guests. Assi ghat area is perfect for a long stay: it is more peaceful than the main ghat area and there are a couple of good coffee shops and places to eat around.

Kind and knowledgeable host who helped us a alot for our visit in Varanasi and gave us also good tips. Rooms are clean and we had hot water. Breakfast included. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. You got here extremely fast Wi-Fi. We stayed at the Kedar Guest House for 2 nights and highly recommend this beautiful place!

Very Helpfull staff the owner help us out alot and everything was the best you can get for this price. We have a little mosquito problem but the owner do anything he can to support us even giving us a new room for the first night! The next day they gave us a bug net cover out bed everything free of charge very good people working here just make me want to stay here for a bit longer.

Varanasi was my first stop in India and I'm so happy I stayed at Kedar Guesthouse. I felt so welcomed and was given all the tips on the best places to go in Varanasi. And when the city was to crazy Kedar Guesthouse felt so peaceful. There are yoga mats and a beautiful rooftop available to practice on as well :)

Room is clean and with hot water! The best of the place are the owners that you can spend hours listening to their lessons. They help you in any aspect and offered us free breakfast. It's a nice place to feel like a family and take all your doubts about traveling solved. They helped me to plan a better trip schedule, arranged us transportation. The mattress was great too!

Good location, located in a relatively quiet location, very close to the river. The rooms and stairs are very clean. 24 Hours hot water. If you don't know, ask the boss, the boss is very enthusiastic.

Absolutely wonderful guesthouse. Family is so warm and welcoming. It was very nice to sit and talk about Indian culture and the education system! Room was clean and spacious, beds comfy, and location was great. Breakfast was delicious, served with chai each morning down in the lobby. Would definitely stay again if I ever find myself back in Varanasi. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Stayed at kedar guest house for 3 nights and highly recommend this place. We arrived at 11pm due to train delay and was greeted with dinner. Virendra the owner is a legend, super helpful. Stay here you will not regret.

This is my Second visit. Very Important for me was safety and family environment. The room was spacious and clean as so was the whole guest house. The owner was very helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. Arranged boat, city tour, laundry, WI fi services was excellent. Facility and prices matched my expectations. If you're looking for luxury, then this is your place. I will sure come this place again…

Warm welcome, delicious food, beds are great (I sleep amazingly well). We are here together with a group for a yoga retreat. Definitely great choice!

We enjoy the stay in kedar guest house. The host is know lots about India and China. We have happily chat with them and they provide the breakfast everyday with lots of fruit. So nice!

We had very good experience at this Guest House. The owners were super friendly… They advised us how to move around the city, helped us get tuk tuk and boats. At no time feel the pressure for wanting to sell tours or something… It was always cool and in the mood to help you.
It is a family atmosphere, the area is quiet, close to the Gaths.
The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, spacious. The bathroom was shared but clean and good hot water shower!

We arrived at this guest house by chance and we loved it! The super friendly owners like to talk and tell you stories about India. The Indian breakfast every day different and very rich. The rooms are nice, clean sheets, private bathroom with hot water, good Wi-Fi and very quiet place. Highly recommended!

I would honestly stay here over a five star hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious and extremely budget friendly. Most importantly though, the hotel manager literally dedicates his life to making sure his guests have a good experience in Varanasi; he is honest, fair, cooks a great breakfast daily (included in room cost) and will help you with everything from getting a good taxi price to discounts on restaurants, etc… can't recommend enough.

Would you like a cup of tea sir. This is the words to welcome. Host Viredra is very helping and honest. He helped us to find out my luggage which we missed in Turkish airline. We were very upset before. Excellent and delicacies breakfast is attraction of kedar guest house. We felt more relaxed because all arrengment of touring places was very planned by Virendra. Wife of owner Mrs Chhaya really hussey lady she teaches wearing Sari to my girlfriend was very lovely. Other thing like cleaning, specious, Wi-Fi services, hot shower, toilet paper free are main attractions here.

We were looked after very well indeed by our host, who did everything they could make us feel at home. We will certainty visit there again and we tell to all our friends to stay here because of his hospitality. Breakfast is priority to us before started the day. Incredible place staffed by Virendra and Chhaya Pandey. A place where is filled with good vibe, a very quiet neighbourhood, near the first gat. There is no hustle and bustle that exist in the gats of cremation. Greetings from Mexico.

Great place to stay! We had the most amazing welcome, arriving close to midnight in the rain, from a delayed train without having eaten. The owner, Virendra, gave us his scooter and told us where we could find an open restaurant. In the end it was closed, so we returned, still hungry, and they fed us from their kitchen. And all throughout the stay, the support for train tickets, info on Varanasi, great tasting breakfast and chai, all good!

My Home in Varanasi. Mr Virendra Pandey is helping person and very freindy. I was in Varanasi with my mother, we were very nervous because of no male with us, but owner of the guest house make the plan and arrangement of th trip in such a way we never realize we are in other place. He having good experience for the arrangement and in budget. Most important is environment like HOME. We are vegiterian and this is the marite of the place they surve only veg. WI FI, AC, Hot and cold running water, laundry, staff service, Home made food, Quite, clean, walking distance from the Assi Ghat, Close to Banaras hindu Univercity, Close to touristic places Hanuman temple. Overall this is best place for the woman tourist very secure/ safe and caring.

It has been a wonderful experience staying at this place. The hosts are very friendly and helpful in nature, a homely feeling sustains the air. I suggest all new comers to varanasi to reside at this place, you won't have any problems roaming around the city as the hosts will make all the necessary arrangements for the travel. Located near the Assi Ghat and the famous "Lanka", I had an awesome stay at this place. Oh. Don't forget the free Wi-Fi facility and everything at very reasonable rates. Great family-run guest house! I stayed here for three weeks and can highly recommend Kedar guest house to anyone. Virendra and his wife are great hosts who went out of their way to make me feel at home, whether it was advice for sightseeing, making delicious breakfasts, or having a casual chat. It is located out of the way from the maddening crowds on a quiet street, yet is a short walk away from Assi ghat and the main road.

Keda guest house is nice for those who are looking quit and nice sleepy place. Host Virendra and his wife warm welcoming and organize a nice. Facilities and place both best for backpacker. Everyday breakfast with talking to other guest in lobby realy historical. Historical. Arranging the tuk tuk ad boat in very reasonable price also appreciable. Other very important facility Wi fi very good. I am highly recommending this place. Go and feel.

Kedar Guest House, Varanasi I chose the Kedar because I wanted a place off of the ghats and a place that was run be helpful people. I liked past reviews of guests which were very positive. I spent 30 days and had a lovely stay. Virendra and his wife and father and kids are generous with their time and attention to guests. Helping with travel, guiding one to key places in the city, changing a menu for special needs. They make great efforts to help guests. While here I watched them every day give special attention to people who had problems. I loved the simple, beautifully prepared dinners. People pay 3 times more than the Kedar to be on the Ghat which is a waste. The 8 minute walk to the Assi Ghat has been a highlight of my stay. If you are on the Ghat you see a lot of river and little of Varanasi. The lane from the Kedar to the Assi has small shop owners, vegetable stands, children coming and going to school. And every day the walk is different. Also, I had a lot of writing and reading to do while in Varanasi, and I like an afternoon nap: perfect at the Kedar with its quiet street away from the noise of the public.

This is a nice hotel run by a very friendly family who made me very welcome and I have really enjoyed my stay here. My room was very spacious with built in shelves so there was plenty of space to put things. The Wi-Fi is free and is on 24/7. There is a nice flat roof for yoga, exercises, tai chi, etc. The hotel is in a friendly neighbourhood away from the main thoroughfare and is extremely quiet. I felt very safe and secure here being on my own. I wouldn't recommend it for people who have difficulty walking or for wheelchairs as the little lanes are very uneven.

A wonderful stay of 3 weeks. This guest house is 5 minutes from the Ghat It is very inexpensive. The couple that run it are amazing. The wife is beautiful sweet, and the best of cooks. The husband, friendly, and gives free yoga lessions on his beautiful rooftop that overlooks the old town. (I spent hours there every day), This is in the finest tradition of yoga, in transmitting what you have learned, not for pay but for free. I hope to return and spend a month or 2 with them next year. Avoid this place. The owner tried to scam us with the taxi and we had many discussions. On the web it seems much better than they are, both the owner and the establishment.
